Hi Josh, I’m chuffed you find this shoe so good. Sadly I’ve not had the same experience. Debut run I found the shoe very clunky for a mid to forefoot striker, the shoe tries to force a heal strike. By the 5km mark the balls of both feet were burning, I believe the insole is way too soft, it has a memory foam sort of gooey feel to it. By the 10km mark I decided to walk and was considering calling to get collected from my run. By 11kms I was honestly thinking of taking them off and running home barefoot. I’ve run is Kayano on and off over the past 20 odd years and this is by far the worst shoe I have ever run in. I really had hoped for this to be my long run shoe, I won’t even use it for a walking. So if you know anyone after a 12.5 with on 12kms on them….:) Sorry Asics you missed the mark by a long shot with this seasoned runner.
Contact ASICS and return them - I had the same issue and they've agreed to a return, I personally think it's a manufacturing fault with the Gel as my whole inner soles heated up
@q20a08 Why would switching out do anything? It's clear the gel is over heating which means that the gel will be breaking down which would also mean the performance will suffer - it's not about making the shoe comfortable, the shoe has a fault and ASICS have accepted the return on that basis.
@q20a08 I have seen other runners reporting the same issue, not in large numbers as the shoe is relatively new. I'm also not alleging anything, I'm reporting a fault with the shoe and only ASICS would know if it is a quality control issue, a design issue, a manufacturing issue with the gel or insole.
These shoes get very hot for me as I can see others stating in the comments below. I'm going to try replace the insert with something less plush to see if that helps but they haven't been the best so far :(
Thanks for watching and sending through your feedback. Does the heat come from the base of your feet (sole) or top of the foot? I did experience a little heat under my foot on my first two runs… however once I feel I compressed the insert down the plushness does disappear slightly and so does the friction under foot. However for me the heat was noticeable but not uncomfortable… if you have an older running shoe around, switch out the insert into the new Kayano and see if that helps… then with the “new” Kayano 30 insert place them in a daily/casual shoe to wear them down/compress slightly. There are a tonne of running hacks that can aid the over comfort outcome of your new running trainers. Happy Running, Josh
I'm not so sure. I've taken them on 3 runs now and after 30 minutes the inner soles start heating up, after 40 minutes it's unbearable especially in the heel pad. I don't know whether it's a manufacturing fault with the gel or a design issue. Across 3 different brands I've never had a shoe hot spot for me. I'll reach out to ASICS but right now the shoe is no good for anything further than around 8km.
Great news to hear that they are comfy to walk in. Does that mean they are not totally plush like the invincible 3? I tried that and it was way to soft and unstable. Is 10mm too much of a drop for walking btw? I heard it’s bad for the hips.
Thanks for the awesome video content. I prefer traditional stability running shoes due to over pronation (Medial post etc..) Kayano 29 was my favorite shoe for this but the Kayanos have changed a lot. In the current market which is the closest shoe to the Kayano 29? (NB 860 V12, Gt 2000 12 perhaps?)
I normally run neutral but went the Kayano 30 for a bit more ankle support on longer runs and so far so good! It is a brick and not great for speed work under 4 minute pace, but at that zone 2 / tempo pace it’s great. And zero ankle pain 👌
@@marky1974 they are cushioned but still with a bit of densness to the foam, the level of foam seems most similar to something like a Hoka Clifton to me. Firmer than nimbus or Nike invincibles but more cushioned than something like a brooks daily trainer. I ran 32k yesterday with an average 4:35 pace and they were great
For the begginer i was so happy with this shoe, this shoe give me more ankle support for my flat foot. Maybe lil bit pricey but it works

I am agree my 5km it’s fell burning and have to buy pad shoe gel to cool down

Be curious to see this compared to the new Hoka Gaviota.

Found the Kayano brutal on my flat feet with the 4d guidance wedge. Loved the cushioning but I couldn’t get over how painful the arch was for me.
feature socks? please provide link to nuy them

Hi, got the same issue regarding the hot sports, after 25-30min of running. Have it become any better or is it still a problem?
@@oskarlindberg3321yes i ve same issue. But now i dont feel it anymore. Super comfort on my feet
How are they going now ? Can you get them up over 8km now ?

Kayano are very soft and Im not sure that I like that I barely feel the ground when I run/walk. It feels a bit unstable.
how durable the outsole for road run?

Will they be good marathon shoe for over pronators?
I haven't tried them yet but they seem too soft. Like a recovery shoe
They are not overly soft. They are very cushioned but its a dense midsole. Nothnig like a Nimbus or Cumulus.

@@scottgibson474 Thanks..Clifton 9 a lot cheaper and versatile so might go for that..cheers!
@@marky1974 my brother has a pair and loves them, I’d only go Kayano if you need the extra stability, otherwise Clifton is great 👌
Note I use this shoe very cross country 2024. All I can say is that it's very good but. Every time I use them it’s always raining.😂
Could you clarify… 100,000 km or 1,000km training in these shoes?
Asics claim u must change the shoe after 800km 👍🏿
Can we use running shoes as Asics gel kayano 30 for walking long distances?
yes ofc, I have had them for mostly walking in over 10 years time.
