  • It's arguably the most heartbreaking moment in motorsport history. After leading comfortably in the closing stages of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Number 5 Toyota, driven by Kazuki Nakajima, Sebastien Buemi and Anthony Davidson, would crawl to a stop, preventing Toyota from taking their first ever Le Mans win. In this video, I go through that moment.

2016 Le Mans was the first I could watch live on TV and it was a blast.

This is the Circuit Racing equivalent of what happened to Carlos Sainz Sr in 1998 WRC

Toyota did this so many times before they finally won.

Each event belongs in the triple crown
    Indianapolis 500 is pure speed
Monaco GP is about precision and fame.
Le Mans is about durability to drive 24 hours without the car breaking.

Not gonna lie, I've been a fan of WEC ever since Lewis winning F1 crown in 2017 and 2018, but 2016 was a year where Toyota lost that first win in le mans. It was indeed a heartbreaking moment when i watched it. But now it's nearly 2024, and with a lot of hypercars coming to compete the le mans, i would gradually going to watch the race (despite the timezone issue)

@0:07 i wholeheartedly disagree. Le Mans is a FAR greater achievement than Monaco. But That's just my opinion.

0:30 That's what he says, But what he means by prestigious is the most famous - not the greatest achievement - in racing.
