@OhioShaves Thank you for showing me the tropes for an irritation free shave. Now im only using leaf oil, sandalwood shaving soap, and Henson ti22 medium razor, allum block and nicea aftershave. Love it! All of that I've found out from your videos.
I noticed on the manscape website that the plow is only for face shaves. I've never seen a double-edged razor that specifies that. I thought that was odd because most people do head shave as well.
You seem to shave once or twice a week , is that right ? I do the same since my skin needs some time to heal after shaving or it would be hell for me .
So my question David is which blade do you like the best? The regular comfort coat you have been using for a while or the new Accutec Blades you are showing here? What's your read on them? Perhaps a shave off with two of the same razor? -Kevin
How do the Accuforge compare to Kai and Feather as far as feel goes. I love Kai as they are in my top 2 or 3 blades. Feather on the other hand are too rough for me. Feel like I’m sanding my face. On a second and third shave they are great though. Need to try corking or rubbing on old jeans to see if that helps dull them a tad.
@@OhioShaves thanks. I really like the comfort coated and since you say those are more similar to Kai I’ll have to give them a try. Sharp yet smooth is a great combo
Almost picked up the Manscape Plow, but saw your comment to someone else that there are better options for head shaving than the Plow. Glad you said that. So, what is your go-to razor for head shaves brother? Mine is the Henson Medium paired with a Personna Lab Blue blade. Smooth, and irritation-free. My alum block says so. Lol!!
Hard question. Lately I’ve been using Yates with the EH plate. I tend to like more aggressive razors for my head. Leaf razor is probably the easiest for me paired with the twig for detailing around my ears. I do like the Henson as well but getting the angle perfect for me takes more time. I’ve had the most done by Rockwell Razors. I should probably put out more head shave videos, but they don’t get many views and TH-cam doesn’t push them as well as others
@@OhioShaves thanks for the response. Your channel is rock'n!!!! Wouldn't change a thing. I have the Rockwell, Yates EH and the Leaf in rotation. I have to take my time with the Yates, but awesome shave for sure. I always try for that BBS on my head. I have become psychotic about it. Like it smooth daily (Henson) or at most every other day (Yates, Rockwell). Leaf when I want a no-thinking cartridge approach. Anyway, always appreciate the feedback, sir.
Have you looked into the Karve Overlander razor? I think that is a razor you would really really enjoy. It's smoothness is seriously like dark magic. BUT, it's more designed for an every 1-3 days shaving instead of going weeks at a time. Happy Tuesday!
Great stuff right there! How do you compare the manscaped to the parker 78r and how do you like them for head shaves? I love your videos and would appreciate if you'd put in the description a list of what you used for the shave before all the different links. Like razor, blade, preshave, soap etc...
Another banger! I really appreciate how informative your videos are. Really appreciate the blade comparison videos. I went on Amazon and ordered what was said to be a supply of the Russian made Astra blades. And what do I get? The India made blades. Arg, but I need to give them a try and see if they work for me. No way I would spend a grand for a razor. Currently considering the Yates razor. But the darn stands continue to be out of stock. As far as a starter razor, I would still have to go with the Henson. It really helps the beginner to understand the angle needed. But I don't think I saw you give a definitive verdict on Accutech vs Persona. What's the skinny on those?s
Hi Ohio Shaves I'm new to wet shaving. I'm getting stingy sensitisation pretty much everywhere and i don't put any pressure on the blade is it normal? To clarify later i don't get razor burn or bumps. I don't know if it's relevant I'm using King c Gillette safety razor with the blades it comes with. I've already ordered a sample pack to experiment.
@@OhioShaves Well it was the cheapest one i can get to be honest 😅. Being a broke teenager it was the the only option to get started. And when you say it is too aggressive you mean the blade or the razor? Sorry for the dum question I'm just new to this and English isn't my native language.
Stingy sensation should caution you to ingrown hair. I used to have it with Merkur 37C and ended up with rash. It is right at the limit, you are shaving too close.
That Velocity One is nice looking. Seems like it might be a little slick if wet? I can see a market for that kind of peice range in a Razor. Spending $1k on something that can last a lifetime doesnt seem to bad for an enthusiast. That person may have other expensive hobbies like cars or watches, etc so $1k is "affordable" in comparison.

Looking forward to watching this when home later.. I have decided to get a Rex Konsul as I have never tried a slant so that is on its way to me as we speak. Have you ever tried a slant? I’ve been told it’s good for sensitive skin and I’m aware this is a problem for you
It is easier to shave close, even too close at times. Slants have variable angle which takes precision. I have had ingrown hair because I shaved too close, so never press on the razor.

I bought a razor that looks just like the Plow 2.0 from AE and it was 4 bucks including shipping. Many brands like Haward sell the same style razor (obviously a R89/DE89 style/knock-off) for way less than 30 bucks. Just saying.
@@OhioShaves You gotta put the AE domain in front: /item/1005005658224185.html I paid €4.17 including shipping - price went up a bit and it's more around 6-7 bucks now. Still a good price. I guess the plating is maybe not as good as on the plow, but given the low price it's a great value and provides a nice shave - slightly more aggressive than the Mühle R89.
@@OhioShaves It was from the "Barber Treasure Store" on AE. Among other sellers like the "Glitter Nails Store" or "Brave Happiness Store". I paid €4.17 including shipping. I am still confused about these two Personna blades. My understanding is that there are only two Personna blades manufactured in the USA. The Comfort Coated and the so-called Med Preps. That Super/Super Blade you showed should have "For Hospital Use" printed on it. At least the ones I have do. I was always told that the blades for hospital use are the "Med Preps" and the "Comfort Coated" are the so-called Lab Blues. It should be noted that everyone selling the Personna Comfort Coated blades calls them Lab Blues. Matt at Razor Emporium was the first person I've heard say the Comfort Coated blades are NOT the Lab Blues. My limited research has found that the Comfort Coated blades were originally wrapped in Blue paper and over time the wrapping changed to White paper. But they were still referred to as Lab Blues. Matt said he is going to have a video that resolves all the confusion. BTW, I have shaved with my "Med Preps" and "Lab Blues". For me, I could not distinguish any difference. Maybe that's because I'm a daily shaver and my beard was not heavy enough to challenge the difference?
Matt is correct. I will make a video discussing all the blades. I still need to purchase all of them to showcase what is what and the misleading information put out by people just assuming and not doing there research.
@@OhioShaves ! am curious where you got your information. Did you look at that blue-wrapped blade to see if it had "For Hospital Use" printed on it? And am I wrong about only two Personna blades manufactured in the US?
AccuTec Blades is a new company formed when a group of investors purchased Personna Industrial from Edgewell. “Industrial” in this case encompasses products for the medical and scientific industry and products for the beauty/barber industry, as well as products irrelevant to wet shavers such as scalpels, carpet cutters, and many others. AccuTec also now owns the blade plant in Verona, Virginia, the source of all current production DE blades labeled “Made in the U.S.A.,” as well as a factory in Obregon, Mexico. As far as we can tell, the factory in Mexico does not produce any DE blades currently used in the wet shaving community. The 2015 Personna Industrial (now AccuTec) catalogs list five different DE blades: coated, oiled blades; coated, unoiled blades; uncoated, oiled blades; and coated surgical prep blades. All the coated blades are billed as using Personna’s proprietary “Comfort Coating.” The blades we commonly know as “lab blues” are sold in boxes of 100 or 5-pack plastic dispensers and are oiled, Comfort Coated blades. The familiar blue wrappers have recently been replaced with plain white wrappers. The blades we commonly know as “med preps” are surgical prep blades. The catalog description of these blades is nearly identical to that of the “lab blues,” though it does not mention that surgical prep blades are oiled. These blades are stamped “for hospital use” and have also recently seen a change in packaging, now coming in lighter blue wrappers. The infamous “barber blades” are likely the uncoated blades, though these are not marketed to either the beauty salon/barber industry or as a medical product under the Personna name; they’re just available as a bulk product that the company is able to supply. @@BartBuzz
@@bangaloremusic Thank you for confirming what I have learned from my research. The Personna DE blade saga is very convoluted. So, you agree that the "Comfort Coated" blades are the so-called "Lab Blues" and the blades in the blue wrappers labeled "Super" and stamped "For Hospital Use" are the so-called "Med Preps?"
@@BartBuzz Simply, the Personna Med-Preps came in a blue wrapper and the blade labeled "for hospital use' Personna Comfort Coated - originally came in a blue wrapper and dubbed by wetshaving fans 'Lab Blue' because they were avaiable in labaratory supply catalogs - the same blade later came in a white wrapper - the part numbers remained the same. Different outer packaging changes were a regular occurance. Neither the Med Prep or Comfort Coated (in either color package) were intended for, or marketed to the 'public'. The above mentioned 'barber blade' was a generic option intended for bulk sales to barber suppliers and moreso as a white label commodity availble for rebranding. e.g. It is likely that Dollar Store blades in the silver dispenser are an example. A shaving forum thread deeply dives into that specific story and essentially ties the two by deduction. I cannot comment on how Accu Tech has continued (or not) any of the above products in their current rebranding/labeling push. The Accu-Forge blade is being offered to the shaving community (as far as I know at this point) from a single online shaving store as the continuation of the Comfort Coated/Lab Blue legacy and are 400% more in price than the Personna labeled Comfort Coated could be had for. The recent situation with Russian production issues, famous well loved brands going out of business, (Polsilver/Super Iridum/Wizamet etc) and much production moved being move to China coupled to endless threads on shaving forums have exaggerated the unicon lore status of said unavailable products. This has of course, brought out the hoarders/TH-cam alarmists/price gougers en masse. The Accu-Forge saga is right up front in that fray. Whether AccuTech addresses and/or clarifies this in any official way to the wetshaving community remains to be seen - I consider it unlikely as thise sales are a miniscule fraction of their industrial business and would likely be more trouble than it's worth.
So do you drive the Geo Metro or the Ferrari? Sure, both get from A to B, but I’ll take the Ferrari! Love my Tedalus! Still waiting on the stand. Cheers.
It shows you that with good technique the price of the razor is irrelevant based on the how well you use each razor. Depending on the aggression and technique you can use something like the Parker solo edge or winning razor and get a great shave
When I saw "least expensive" in the thumbnail my first thought was 'umm a Tedalus v Parker 78R would make a great comparison video'...I was not expecting Manscape (even with it being in the title). In fairness I was watching on TV and the first thing I saw was Least Expensive in the thumbnail before I saw video's title. Thank you for explaining how you got to least expensive for this video. Personally, I put Manscape in the same category as Gillette junk as they are all overpriced and have horrific ads. I remember your video from June 4th, 2023 when you did the Manscape razor review where your thumbnail said 'knock off' and a comment you left said "I thought there was just a lot of Hype! It's just a re-branded $20 razor. Save your money." Yes, I had to go find the video just to make sure I wasn't gaslighting myself in misremembering what you said back then. Personally if anyone wants an inexpensive razor I tell em to get the Parker 78R. Those words from your June video speak louder than anything you say about the Manscape razor thereafter.
Hi Ohio Shaves, good video but you're using new blades so they are going to slice thru on the first pass when the blades are at their most optimum. To test properly, I would venture using a blade that you don't rate highly or a blade that's on its 2nd or 3rd use. You would then eliminate the blade sharpness and have just the individual design of razor performance. Thanks for the video, All the Best...
Tedalus doesn't look pretty enough for 1000 bux. 😂 You could get a couple of wolfman's for nearly the same price. There's still a listing for feather blades at 22 bux for 50 blades.
The manscape plow 2.0 scares me due to the blade exposure. I remember using the gen 1 of manscape plow razor and it was the worst. I would ALWAYS nick myself. Switch to an Edwin Jagger de89 and the shaves improve by improving the hardware. Tedalus Safety Razor is out of anyone budget. Too Expensive.
Ok I see from notes you're still tasting blades fair game. I've got a buddy in Australia Dave. Your show is Geofenced over there. He's near Perth in WA. Any ideas how he can watch your videos? Quite disappointing, can't see why TH-cam would do that 🤷
You can get 200 Feather Blades for around $50. That’s 0.25 cents per blade. AccuForge Blades are 250 blades for $90. That’s 0.36 cents per blade. Feather Blades are expensive but no longer the most as AccuThrive blades are selling 100 Razor Blades for $67. That’s 0.67 cents per blade!

Your correct. I like to really put razor to the test and let the views see the razors removing the hair when I zoom in
@@OhioShaves well good job , it's not only more practical but also satisfying to watch 👌.
Thanks brother@@Ali-Basheer04
I have been loving Personna Paltinums. What is the Accurforge aggressiveness vs the Paltinums?
Thanks,

So my question David is which blade do you like the best? The regular comfort coat you have been using for a while or the new Accutec Blades you are showing here? What's your read on them? Perhaps a shave off with two of the same razor? -Kevin
Great idea.
How many times do you re-use the same blade for heavy growth shaves? Or do you replace each shave?
One and done. I replace the blade after every shave
Isn’t aluminum bad for you? Isn’t an Alum block aluminum?
Not in it’s mineral element
How do the Accuforge compare to Kai and Feather as far as feel goes. I love Kai as they are in my top 2 or 3 blades. Feather on the other hand are too rough for me. Feel like I’m sanding my face. On a second and third shave they are great though. Need to try corking or rubbing on old jeans to see if that helps dull them a tad.
It's smooth cut just like the Kai blade is. I have the same problem with feather blades

Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the video another good cheap option but a bit more aggressive is the the parker 99R
👍
Great video sir well done❤

Great stuff right there! How do you compare the manscaped to the parker 78r and how do you like them for head shaves? I love your videos and would appreciate if you'd put in the description a list of what you used for the shave before all the different links. Like razor, blade, preshave, soap etc...
The plow is more more aggressive. I haven't shaved my head with either one. A lot of the items I use I don't have links for. But I'll do my best.
Hey Dave how many shaves you getting out of the blades buddy thank you for your great videos buddy 👍
One and done for me. Most shavers get 3 to 4 out of a blade
Thank Dave keep up the great work thanks again
Thank you much. Still need to test more than just one shave. Planning on using for a couple of months to see how they perform. So far so good
Where would the Nacet compare to these blades? I have a Leaf and i am having a hard time getting bbs everywhere even with 3 passes. Love your stuff!
The comfort coats give me great shaves and they’re priced right. The AccuTec blades are sharper and I will be testing these for awhile
are they mild/medium/aggressive? thank you
Medium with a smooth finish
Hi Ohio Shaves I'm new to wet shaving. I'm getting stingy sensitisation pretty much everywhere and i don't put any pressure on the blade is it normal? To clarify later i don't get razor burn or bumps. I don't know if it's relevant I'm using King c Gillette safety razor with the blades it comes with. I've already ordered a sample pack to experiment.
May. Help. I didn’t care for the KCG too aggressive for me
@@OhioShaves Well it was the cheapest one i can get to be honest 😅. Being a broke teenager it was the the only option to get started. And when you say it is too aggressive you mean the blade or the razor? Sorry for the dum question I'm just new to this and English isn't my native language.
The razor
KCG would sting! I lost count of how many times it sliced and blood gushed from my moustache area. Knock on wood, haven't happened recently.
Stingy sensation should caution you to ingrown hair. I used to have it with Merkur 37C and ended up with rash. It is right at the limit, you are shaving too close.
I know you like Personna “Comfort Coated” blades. After using the “AccuForge” blade by AccuTec”, is it your new favourite?
Still testing it
That Velocity One is nice looking.

Is that Thayer's Tonic the same as Thayer's Witch Hazel? I have Dickenson's Witch Hazel, but I rarely use it. It does calm the shaved skin and reduces irritation, but still I regularly use a p.s. balm instead of "splash" or Witch Hazel.
It is a facial toner
David, the head on the Plow 2.0 looks exactly like my Mühle R89. Hmmm
It's probably a copy.

Very impressed with the Manscape razor! It looked smoother shaving than the 1000.00 razor..The blades didn't feel rough like the feather blades can on the 1st shave?
Amazing razor
Ok 🤔
Looking forward to watching this when home later.. I have decided to get a Rex Konsul as I have never tried a slant so that is on its way to me as we speak.
Have you ever tried a slant? I’ve been told it’s good for sensitive skin and I’m aware this is a problem for you
It is easier to shave close, even too close at times. Slants have variable angle which takes precision. I have had ingrown hair because I shaved too close, so never press on the razor.
Hope you enjoy it! I'm not a big fan of slants

Some people meditate, some do yoga, we shave.
I like that👍
I bought a razor that looks just like the Plow 2.0 from AE and it was 4 bucks including shipping.
Many brands like Haward sell the same style razor (obviously a R89/DE89 style/knock-off) for way less than 30 bucks. Just saying.
I heard as low as $10 but four bucks that's awesome. Can't beat that price.
@@OhioShaves You gotta put the AE domain in front:

I paid €4.17 including shipping - price went up a bit and it's more around 6-7 bucks now.

All the coated blades are billed as using Personna’s proprietary “Comfort Coating.”
The blades we commonly know as “lab blues” are sold in boxes of 100 or 5-pack plastic dispensers and are oiled, Comfort Coated blades.
@@BartBuzz Simply, the Personna Med-Preps came in a blue wrapper and the blade labeled "for hospital use'
Personna Comfort Coated - originally came in a blue wrapper and dubbed by wetshaving fans 'Lab Blue' because they were avaiable in labaratory supply catalogs - the same blade later came in a white wrapper - the part numbers remained the same.
Cheers.
Great razor
It shows you that with good technique the price of the razor is irrelevant based on the how well you use each razor. Depending on the aggression and technique you can use something like the Parker solo edge or winning razor and get a great shave
Some razors are better than others, regardless of price
@@OhioShavesTrue but you don't have to spend hundred of dollars to get a good shave.

I use a blade once and then I pitch it. Unless I'm doing a head shave as well then I will use it for my head. One and done for me.
Tedalus doesn't look pretty enough for 1000 bux. 😂
You could get a couple of wolfman's for nearly the same price.
There's still a listing for feather blades at 22 bux for 50 blades.

Hahaha! $34.99?! This particular razor sells on Aliexpress for $6.
