Bushcraft Haversack (basic essentials)

- Here are the things I carry in my haversack. I don't actually carry the monster drink regularly, I just brought it for the day. Anyhow, if you want to know where I got something, just ask and I'll let you know.
I normally carry a small tinder bag as well with windproof matches, a ferro rod, char cloth, jute twine and birch bark. I rotate things out of and into my bag depending on what I am doing, where I am going and who I am with. This is just a basic idea of what to carry in a haversack. #haversack #bushcraft #wild #woodsman #camping #survival #wildcamping #outdoors #tarpshelter

Simple, and simple don’t break!!!! I like it 😊
I agree. Like the military always teaches, Keep It Simple, Stupid (KISS).
Yep, good kit, good vid, good show🙃
Thank you.
Nice loadout! you are well prepared!
Thank you.
You have put together a really good basic kit. I’m old school and can really appreciate your kit. What you have is really all you need for a scout in the bush. All that high dollar, high tech gear is not needed to enjoy your venture out. I would like to get that T ZERO. Also I like that UCO lantern, I’ve not seen that one before. I have many canteens but I do like that Swedish one. BTW I’m a birdwatcher. Just subbed you. Good video, enjoy nature.
Thank you. I agree, you don't need all of the expensive high speed gear. It may be nice to have but it's not needed. A bird watcher though huh? That's awesome. I appreciate the subscribe, do you do pictures or anything or just enjoy the watching?
@@thewildreset enjoy watching and identifying. I used to be a counter for hawk migration count.
The canteen is actually swiss.
You're the only other bushcrafter i've ever seen use a Stihl folding saw, and not a Silky or Bahco, I use the next folder that's Orange up from them.. You gained a subscriber for that reason..
Right on, thank you man. Yeah I figured cutting branches and trees is kind of their thing, so their saw will probably work great. It has too, no need for a fancy expensive one when the lawn care one is made for it and cheaper.
Great video!!
Glad you enjoyed it. It's a traditional kind of thing but very useful.
Nice kit.
Thank you
The Swiss canteens are awesome. I have several and I think they were good purchases. ATB Sam Adler from Vietnam
Thanks, I like them too, they're very versatile.
Straight forward no BS good light duty kit. I like it. Sound choices.
Thank you. I of course change it up depending on what I'm headed out to do. Do you have one too?
Nice kit
Thank you
Remarkable canteen.
A well thought out kit
New subscriber
Thank you. I got the canteen off of ETSY. It came from Europe, a little pricey, but in my own opinion it was worth it due to this being my lifestyle. So I get a lot of value from it over time.
@@thewildreset thank you
Great video and kit. Where did you get your canteen??
Good bag, basically same as mine, different brands, but same general idea. enjoyed way you explained everything. so i subbed look forward to more content. have a great night from snowy Alberta,Canada.
Thank you so much. What brand do you have for your bag?
@@thewildreset polish bread bag. surplus thing. works good has little pockets. and lashing points. cheap to ,think cost me $15
Nice, I looked up the polish bread bag. I like the pockets in there, that would make it a little easier to organize a few things.
Have you considered to carry:
Basic first aid (for scrapes, minor cuts etc)
Flashlight or headlamp
Some form of navigation (at least a small compass)
The first aid, not really. I was a medic in the army and I can improvise quite well, so I usually skip that one and go for wilderness medicine. Flashlight is one I bring if I'm gonna be out late, but the compass... that one I haven't done. If I'm not going out terribly far, I rely on natural navigation using the sun's position. But I'll probably grab a button one just to be safe now that you mention it.
Get you something IR on your bag in the event they have to do a night time search for you
Great idea
Gave you a like just for the bad cedar joke.
Lol, thank you
all tp is debatable
Truth. If I'm in an area that will have common mullein, I'll just use that. But there's plenty of other options too.
Get you something IR I the event you get hurt and they search for you at night bud
That's a good idea
