Poets if the Fall is from Finland. They've always been independent as far as I remember, as in never been on a record label. That has probably limited their international reach, but that's the way they have chosen. They're a good band, very skilled and charismatic lead vocalist and good songwriting.
I have been listening to them for many years now and I think they are one of the best modern bands in the World. This was actually the First song of theirs that I listened to. You should definitely check out more songs by them. They did a Series of Songs called The Alexander Theater Sessions in the Covid Period where they posted Unplugged and Stripped Down Versions of their own songs, 1 song every month for 12 months.
Poets of the Fall - "Angel" (Alexander Theatre Sessions) is a good one. Marko Saaresto sings accompanied by a grand piano only. Just like Floor did with Joost on her Alone cover. To show you Marko sounds great live as well. They recorded 12 songs, acoustic, in the empty Alexander Theatre during pandemic. Other good ones from the Poets of the Fall: "Daze" (Official Video) In this one you can hear Marko's falsetto. "Lift" (Live w/ Lyrics) "The Sweet Escape" (Official Video) "Temple of Thought" (Unplugged studio live)
Thank you Howling Family! You made my dream come true!! Finally, another great Finnish band on your radar. This is "very old" video and they just keep getting better and better, if possible. Marko has a perfect voice, no matter live or acoustic. Live in Moscow 2013 could be one option. Although it breaks my heart to even write the "word" Moscow. So, I am sorry everybody! Best Regards from Finland!
They have other fantastic videos but they are also a fantastic live band. Please check Daze mv, Requiem for my harlequin mv (from their latest album last year), Angel live from the Alexander Theater sessions, Carnival of rust, Sleep and Lift from their Moscow concert in 2013. To get started. They`ve been around for twenty years, so they have a lot of awesome stuff to react to. The lead singer, Marko Saaresto is classically trained bass-baritone and has also studied English.
Alexander Theatre Sessions, those are live. They did a cover of Rollin in the deep too. There is the live version of Carnival of rust- that whole concert is worth a look. One of my personal favourites- is Daze- won't spoil the surprise on that one- especially when he hits the chorus. Another one to listen to- not necessarily react as it has no proper video to speak of is Skin. Poets of the fall have been officially going for 20 years, they are from Helsinki in Finland- are also known as Old Guards Of Asgard for the video games of Alan Wake. Original 3 members to start the band is independent
It's a clever video, on one hand it's about a relationship and on another as we are as a society always wanting more and more but still never happy, it also has loads of references to tarot tarot cards, he has a amazing voice should have more recognition
I'm about 99% sure that woulda been my suggestion! I remember commenting it on one of y'alls early videos. If you guys want to hear more I would definitely suggest the unplugged version of "Temple of Thought", which was the song that introduced me to these guys. His voice carries a lot of weight, and as a whole I really enjoy their music. Also fun fact, they have a "spinoff" band called Old Gods of Asgard, which is a fictional band that performs music for/in the video games Alan Wake and Control. Their sound, despite being the same people, is a stark contrast to Poets, and if you're interested in listening to any of their music I cannot suggest the song "Take Control" enough.
Their all music videos are amazing! Singer is Marko Saaresto. They have actually wrote a song for Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas's wife too. Too bad there isn't much good quality live stuff out there... Not everyone is like Nightwish 😉 But they have so many great music videos that are worth to watch. Also those Alexander Theatre Sessions are live 👍🏻
I would like you to react to a song called The Sweet Escape or Partir Avec Moi. It's the same song, except the first one is in English and the second one is in French. The official video is filmed in Helsinki, Finland.
If you want to do a deep dive to the symbolism of this excellent music video, watch "Carnival Of Rust | Song meaning and symbolism | Music video explained bit by bit" by the channel called Learn A Logic.
The shot the videon in 18 hours with the band own money, very cheap actually. The lead singer Marko Saaresto mostly designed the set. Voted best Finnish music video of all time. Very little CG is involved. I've been listening to them since 2003, the wrote an ending song for a Video Game Max Payne called 'Late Goodbye'. You can listen to the song on their channel, listen to the live version.
great reaction again with amazing video and song. hey guys when you have next time difficult day, just listening poets of the fall - maybe tomorrow is better day th-cam.com/video/8sylWlivzvU/w-d-xo.html it always give extra power in life to next day and that bad day :) have great weekend guys and ladyes. sadly this song never make video and not ever reaction video in you tube ;)
This band is amazing-Please watch the Alexander Teater Sessions. They have done music for many games but are amazing on their own I have been a super fan for so many years.

Not record label but they got publisher behind them. Remedy which is game developer company.
They were on a major label once.. I think
They have their own label, Insomniac, I think
POTF ❤Thanks for your reaction! Greetings from Finland, the birthplace of Poets of the Fall 🤗🥰 Marko is awesome, as is the whole band!

The interaction between the singer and the audience in Moscow is something to see, especially in the song Sleep❤️

Their Alexander Theatre sessions are very good. "War", "Where do we draw the line", "Late Goodbye" are great too 🤘😊👍

When Marko sings in falsetto on 'Daze', it really hits you hard... He has a remarkable voice!
