Very nice vid Kirk. I can’t wait to see the new lg washer with the agitator! I’m so excited for u to test that washer on all different cycles with different loads. This washer is unfortunately now referred to a failtag. Maytag used to build washers with STEEL agitators! The old wringer washers will outperform and outlast this washer any day, have a good one Kirk. Thanks for the vids to keep me entertained
I’ve had this model for a few months. The “Delicate” cycle isn’t too delicate, as you can see. It just agitates at regular speed for a shorter time. On the other cycles, I’d say it does get the clothes pretty darn clean, but it leaves a lot of lint and moisture behind. So your dryer has to run longer. There are pros and cons to this model. My former front loader was certainly more delicate, and spun the clothes almost dry, but you have the mildew and gasket issues. You can’t win!!
Yeah there is no perfect washer. We went from top load to front load because we needed the size and I didn't really like any of the options. It definitely spins better which makes up for the longer wash time and then some and our loads per week have been cut nearly in half. I'm not convinced that it's really getting stuff clean though. It takes out stains better and there is less lint but it doesn't seem to get the stink out of athletic stuff very well. I'm guessing that's because of how little water it uses.
I have this machine and hate it for numerous reasons. Kirk, would you buy the Amana top loader or the GE top loader with the deep fill button you push and hold for three seconds if you wanted something different?
That plastic is on there for a very specific reason. It’s blocking the water and water vapors that come up through the back of the lid , from causing connection issues in the control panel. You’ll find the fixes for the connection issues on TH-cam.
We purchased this Maytag MVW7230Hw washer from Pochel’s in Tacoma, Washington. It was delivered and set up by the delivery person. We tried to do a load of laundry and the washer wouldn’t agitate. I took a video to show that the agitator pretty much just vibrated, and didn’t even disturb the small amount of suds that formed when the machine partially filled with water. I took the video to Pochels the next morning. They said they would gladly deliver another machine for only $100. I told them I wasn’t willing to pay an additional $100 to get a machine that worked when I had already paid over $1,000 for one that obviously didn’t work. Pochels told me to contact Maytag for a repair. I explained that since I had the machine less than 24 hours, I didn’t think it appropriate to call for a repair, but they explained that was my only option. I called Maytag, and the first appointment is several weeks out Later we tried another load of laundry and the washer literally tried to dry clean the clothes. You can see in the video that there is NO water in the machine, enough water came out to dampen the clothes and that was it. At least this time the agitator worked! But I have to manually add water to each load even though I put it on maximum fill. It takes about 4 hours to do a load of laundry. This machine is supposed to save water, but even when the agitator does work and you manually add water to the machine, you have to push heavy jeans under the water and swish them around with your hand to get them clean. I might as well go to the river and pound my clothes on the rocks.
Well, similar to the 5.3 model, that wasn't exactly a delicate wash. I have a few requests for this machine but I will give you my top three, in order of how much I want to see them. 1. Full load, heavy duty, deep fill high or max, you pick. 2. Full load test, normal, auto fill! (User error test??) 3. Wash what you want, normal cycle, default settings. I wouldn't mind if only one of these got done. Hell, do none if you want. It's your channel, after all!
I washed TWO Queen-size flannel blankets in one load. It really holds a lot. The biggest problem is that it leaves behind too much lint and moisture, so your dryer has to run longer.
@@Thedonsmoney25823 Is both this and the CROSLEY washer that has no turnover Lmao look at the sweater in the water its just floating and its bearly moving
I just don’t get what the engineers are doing they must drink before they put the program in these machines. On a delicate cycle you would never start agitation before the washer fills. I don’t think they understand the cycles in China or Korea if that’s where these machines are made? Heavy duty agitation and normal agitation (with a full load) on this machine is weaker than the delicate cycle agitation, does that make sense?
I think they’re produced in Michigan but if they’re produced overseas they’re only produced the way that Whirlpool engineers them. Their basic machines built on Roper’s production line do the same thing.
@Isaac Joby John just surprises me that there stronger cycles are weak to say the least and yet they have a delicate cycle that should be a little gentler.
That’s a ridiculous amount of water. First thing I did after watching TH-cam videos on this model was to change all the preset cycles to “autofill” instead of some of the max fill preset settings.
Is it really a "delicate" washing? At least this is an ok machine as this Maytag washer now uses inverter motor instead of the crap belt drive motor like the previous model of this one. But the water level programming should be more improved, especially if you don't want to damage the delicate items like the sweater that you have done this. Also I'm not sure will it be anything better despite having more improvements than the previous model or just still an HE machine is HE machine that with longer cycle and poor washing performance with water level not accurate? Anyway thanks for a good video too and stay safe 👍

How did you get it with the lid open
How did you get it to wash with the ild open
They added spray rinses for delicate cycles now.

Mr crabs had dissapeared off of the washer
I'd like to see the normal cycle.
I'd like to see the normal cycle with fabric softener.

Can you show the normal Cycle. Mine doesn't fill up all the way and starts washing without water 😒
Just set the optional water level to high or full. It defaults to auto, which starts agitating with almost no water.
