    Also, let’s be REALLY clear here: I don’t know anything about those that I critiqued past their video. This is not a commentary on them as a witch or even as a creator - just my personal opinion on the video that I saw (which is not a lot). I will not tolerate anyone going to someone’s page to give them hate, shit-talking in the comments, or overall being straight up mean to the creators of a video. Even if you disagreed with the video/content structure - that person who created it is human.

    - Regularly stir things with a spoon

    To me a "natural witch" is someone who doesn't perform any spells or rituals or at least isn't aware of doing so and still has stuff happen that others would need to perform for.... for my family it's prophesy. The women in my family will randomly say shit and then it happens, shit that there is no way it was coincidence or foreseeable. My grandmother predicted her death on her vacation and called her friends to say goodbye... after 2 years of our family never having covid I told my husband he did and two days later he was flat on his back for two days. No one in my family practices Magix however, I started looking into it when I started noticing stuff. Like that feeling of dejavu where you feel something important is happening and you catch it before it happens. Only spell I've ever known anyone in my family did was my mom called her now husband by writing traits and burning under the moon.

      Your definition of a natural witch makes sense to me. Like a natural aptitude to developing a skill that others have to work for. I don't have a familial link that I know of, but I can sense the energies and spirits in the space I'm in, have been able to for as long as I can remember, bffing with the shadow people, walking into a perfectly normal room that looks the same as any other time but just get this slap in the face because someone had a screaming match in there a few days before, some rooms just wreak because there's been so much sorrow felt in there, spaces that are so light and inviting because they've been used for experiences of happiness so much.

    Witchcraft is not a genetic thing. You're not automatically a witch because your mom was a witch, but your dad was not and even though they died before you knew about your witchiness, you inherited your mom's abilities. That's not how it works, Sabrina Spellman.
    No.
    The closest to that is a hereditary witch, called such because they are taught in childhood the traditional practice that their family passed down for generations. Hereditary witch is a cultural term, not a racial or genetic term. It's being brought up in a witchcraft tradition.
    That being said, I do believe that some people are called to witchcraft. Like, for me, I've always been a spiritual person, always been drawn to folklore, mythology, so-on. I think for me, it's a combination of them being among my autistic special interests and being part of my spiritual identity. I genuinely do believe I was meant to be a witch, but that's my personal interpretation of my spirituality and why the understanding I have of it makes perfect sense to me. In no way does this make me "more," of a witch than those who believe that, rather than being destined for witchcraft that they instead chose it. Either way, it is the practicing of witchcraft that makes you a witch, not your bloodline and not even necessarily psychic abilities or your brand of spirituality.
    This is just what makes sense to me. I feel in my core that I was meant to be, have always been and will always be a witch. Just like being autistic, it is simply part of who I am. And my practicing witchcraft is how I express and connect with this part of me.

      @Lillyluvsanime 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@ChaoticWitchAunt I like to be able to add perspective to a conversation. In no way am I trying to say that my interpretation is the "right" one and I totally agree that attaching things that are common activities for children (particularly neurodivergent children) as being signs of a "witchy destiny" is baloney.
      I just know what makes sense to me. What makes sense to you is that you found witchcraft, followed the path and found a place to cultivate yourself, which is beautiful and is what makes sense for you.
      I think the relationships we have with spirituality and the journey we go on to either get where we're supposed to be or get to a place that fits or that we make work for us is very much supposed to be a unique experience, personal between ourselves and the divine.
      That's I think my major problem with organized religion. Trying to homogenize the experience, saying that "if your relationship with God doesn't look exactly like mine, then you're doing it wrong," just never sat right with me.
      We all came from the same source, we are all part of the same divinity, yet we are also all individuals and so will have individual experiences and relationships with the divine.
      And that is a big part of what makes spirituality so beautiful to me. Like... we're all colored blotches of paint, individual and somewhat separated, but also interconnected as parts of a whole painting. A painting isn't as interesting if it's all just one shade of one color. Spirituality just... wouldn't be as spectacular and magickal if everyone did it the same way.
      And in all honesty, it's probably a combination. Some people may be, in some way or other "predestined" to be witches, while others find their way here through trial and error, hard work or some other factor that lead to them finding a home among the witches. Kinda like teachers... some people, based on their demeanor, the kinds of things they like, their skill etc.. they were ALWAYS gonna grow up to be a teacher, whether in early childhood, higher education, or in some really specific field, while others ended up as teachers either through a series of circumstances or because they made a calculated choice to do so... doesn't change the fact that they're all teachers, maybe with different methods, maybe of different subjects or age groups, but all with the same goal: to impart knowledge. Witches come in all kinds of flavors, but we all have the same goal: to use our practice to in some way or other improve our own lives and maybe, in some cases, the lives of those around us. What matters is that we learn from eachother and don't try to tell one-another what THEIR personal witchcraft experience and practice should be. Follow or dig out your own path, don't try to control someone else's.
      Sorry for mixing my metaphors. I'm just trying to articulate what's going on in my head the best way I can. Sometimes I have to break down into multiple examples to assure myself that I'm being clear and not leaving anything out.

    Disclaimer: I’m not saying it actually means anything, or is connected, I just thought this was cool so:
    My entire life I’ve LOVED Venus (and Neptune but that’s beside the point), like, ever sense I found out it existed when I was in elementary school. Along with that, I’ve always felt drawn to Aphrodite, I was homeschooled until I was 13 and part of my homeschooling was reading ‘Greek mythology’ and I always told my family and mom that I loved her, and wanted to read all her stories. My middle name is also Rose, go figure, and roses have always been my favorite flower (along with white gardenias). I’m also a Taurus which I recently found out is connected to Venus. And also Aphrodite’s Roman name is Venus. So there’s my lots of random things I think about all the time.

    5 signs you were born with the natural ability to become a witch
    1, you drink water. Water has natural cleansing properties if you are drawn to drinking water your intuition is telling you to cleanse
    2, you have or do not have hair
    3, you have some number of feet (0 being a number)
    4, you like the smell of rain
    5, you breath both in AND out

    That video about "making someone think of you" with paper has been stitched by someone saying that it is a hoodoo/voodoo practice and is
    1. Closed
    2. Really stupid to do anyway, because it can cause obsession. The obsession bit is debateable based on your belief but real life practices and people who practice them are more important than any spell.

      @alyseandrews1066 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@mysryuza but the majority of people are unaware that a mistranslation is even present. Most were unintentional to begin with and stemmed from an imperfect way to convey the same message in a different language. Not everyone has the ability to cross reference an unaltered Hebrew text or take a class on the cultural significance of poetic story-telling, and the social and political pressures that applied to the people who originally wrote those texts. It's an honest misunderstanding in most cases, which happens in literally every faith that one can study and convert to.

    When I was into witchcraft I was always so frustrated by how the focus seemed to be more on aesthetics than theology or philosophy. So much of the spirituality seemed to amount to arts and crafts. It just felt…empty.

    • @ChaoticWitchAunt
      @ChaoticWitchAunt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I can definitely understand that frustration! I like to think of aesthetics as an added level to the Craft - like color magic, glamour magic, etc - they can be used to create something wonderful. I do think that sometimes aesthetics without something behind it feels rather hollow, but I’ve been trying to challenge myself recently into realizing the witchcraft I see online IS super aesthetics based - because that’s what people look for.

    The amethyst mirror gave me an idea recently so I made a bad vibes mirror out of a picture frame, obsidian chunks and flakes of seashells. I put a "reflect negativity back and keep it out" sigil inside between the glass (I painted black) and the backing and hung it above my bed facing the door so anything trying to come through the door with bad vibes is turned away and it looks neat

Sit very still and stare at the smoke (or close your eyes, or stare at the ceiling) and the smoke will begin to rise straight up as the air becomes still again. Smile, exhale, and move away and the smoke will begin to eddy around again. :-)
