Thank you for this information, it was really helpful considering I start Sunday and didn’t know what to expect. Did you have an overall positive experience while working there? I’m pregnant and kind of nervous as I haven’t been in the work force for a while.
I did. Everyone was nice and tried really hard to be helpful. I think as long as you go into it with a positive attitude you'll be fine.

Yes, they gave me the schedule at the orientation. They used the application availability to create it.

Omg thankyou so much I’m only 16 and this is my first job and I was getting so nervous, mines is coming up this Sunday and you just cleared up so much for me, and I know this number varies but how much people were there for the orientation?
There were around 10 people there.

@@mel5110 I just turned 16 last month and I got hired! I’m not sure if this is every target but my target wanted full time employees so I told them I have an open availability during summer and they set me up with an interview!! I highly recommend calling target and speaking with HR (Human Resources department) that’s how I was able to get the interview in the first place Bc they didn’t contact me back, so I contacted them first!

I really hope mine works out. I got a call almost a week ago with a job offering along with a date and time for orientation. I was supposed to get an email 30 mintues after the call for a confirmation code and some stuff I have to do before orientation, but I haven't gotten it yet despite calling almost every day. The two ladies who take care of job stuff are always "not in" when I call and I keep being told they'll reach out to me through email or call :( still nothing and my orientation is in two days, sigh. I'm tired of calling I'm going to go in the store tomorrow because I found out they'll be there in person. Honestly, if for some reason they changed their mind about my job offer or whatever, it'll suck, but what I'm annoyed with the most is the lack of communcation.
It seems like a lot of people have experienced a lack of communication, but that it also hasn't mean that they changed their mind.
My orientation is on Wednesday at 12pm and I’m so nervous I have never dealt with customers since I worked at amazon before!! And quick question after your orientation you start your first shift the next day?

Hi, congratulations! I have orientation tomorrow in the morning at 8:30-3:30. Did they discuss health benefits? Is that an option for seasonal employees?
I think they said after 60 or 90 days you're eligible for benefits.
When you go in for orientation do you just ask an employee where it’s at Like how did you find out where the orientation was

I have a question. So my orientation is in two days, will they ask me about my availability because i do go to school from Monday through Thursday from 9am till 1:30pm but I’m available any time after that, will they work with me and my availability? Also is there an option for me to choose payment in checks?
They will work with you on availability and they'll have a copy of the availability you selected on your application. If something has changed just let them know. They're going to give you your schedule during orientation.

@@tom.b.6174 hey!! i actually made it into working for old navy! i worked there seasonally on the brink of 2 months, and it was awesome! i was super nervous for orientation day as well as i had no idea what i was doing but my parents came up with an idea in case i didn’t know how to sign anything. i printed out all the documents needed to bring for orientation and got my parents to help me sign them the night before, in which i held those items in a folder along with an id and my ssn. overall the orientation was very laid back, i had around 5 other girls with me that were there as well and we were watching videos on these ipads for 2 hours while signing those necessary docs. nothing to be worried about anyway, hiring managers can’t expect a lot out of us anyway since we’re minors:)! so any job that is offered to you, will be assumingly easy as long as you had great staff (i did! and i enjoyed every second of it. it payed well and was given long hours during my time.) the staff makes it clear that they care a lot about you. nothing to worry about, and you’re one step up getting closer to the adult world doing new things such as getting a job! good for you:) i was incredibly overwhelmed when i first got my job offering. i was actually scared because i thought that i was suffering with some sort of social anxiety from being cramped up too long in my house during quarantine, but while working there i overcame that and it was truly incredible:)! my first job experience was absolutely amazing! and get excited for yourself if you landed a new job for yourself! you got this🥰

Hey would you recommend signing up for the red card? I've heard there's Debit and Credit options for it. Are the discounts the same?
I have the debit card and it gives u a 5% discount on every purchase.
I don't know much about the credit card but in general I don't recommend getting store credit cards. Normal credit cards are more versatile and tend to have better rewards.

Nope, they didn't have a lot of preferences... No ripped jeans and a red shirt were about it..

I didn't start on orientation day. They did give me a schedule though.

So I just completely my HireVue interview for target today, and felt very nervous, what was your interview experience like?
I didn't really have an interview I don't think. It was more like pre-hire training. I might've done some kind of questionnaire online or something. I don't remember an interview though.

Good Morning, quick question so I'm actually filling out the application for Target as a GM and Food (General Merchandise, Closing, Fulfillment, Inbound, Food & Beverage) and I wanted to ask do you also have to do the cash register as well? You might be able to but I would recommend asking the person who's doing orientation for help so that you can make sure you're doing it right. They're there to answer questions and you don't want to get that wrong. Even if you have to stay late, ask for help.

@@sergiocervantes1662 Seasonal worker but it depends if your gonna work for a specific department your just going to be assigned to a certain spot in the store then they give you a mydevice to scan and identify a price or it’s whereabouts and stuff then you’ll have fun with the people that are there to help you slowly build relationships with good people cause the bad ones are usually the older middle aged people who just simply hate their job 😌

Orientation was a couple of hours. I was working part-time and I started the next week.

There wasn't much to do. There was a tour and then they put me on the computer to do watch a few training videos and answer questions. Then they took all my documents and had me input my info on the computer and I think that was it. Got my first schedule during training too.
I’m hella nervous too lol. Mines tomorrow at noon, and we should be done by 4pm. I got hired at HomeGoods, but since there’s not a lot of vids related to that store, I figured Target would be a similar thing. I just hope they don’t make me ring up the customers, or at least not tomorrow lol

I'm not sure but I think that's an acceptable form of ID
A passport is supplemental to an IS/SSN.

I got a time so I'm not sure about that, and I wasn't drug tested.

i applied 6 days ago and got an invitation to do a virtual interview and i’m still waiting on a job offer/ rejection letter, it’s been 4 days since i did the virtual interview. Is that a good thing or bad thing cause i really want this job at target.
Also how long does it take for target to follow up with you after you have done the virtual interview??
hey! so i sent in my application about a week and a half ago. i did my virtual interview on june 30th, and i received the job offer email yesterday. they said it should take about 5 business days to get back to you, so you’re in good shape. hope this helped!

U can wear whatever you want to orientation. They'll tell you the dress code for work while you're there.

No, it was just orientation and we didn't actually work. we watched some videos, took a tour of the stock rooms and lower level, and did some paperwork. They did go over the dress code for actual shifts though.

It's not hard but there's a learning curve for sure. You have to learn how the aisles and shelves and sections are numbered to put things in the right place.

It was short-lived but I was part time... 25 hrs/week

Oh no! You'll find something. Try TJ Maxx, Marhall's Ross, Walmart, and other Target locations. Also, try some stores at your local mall if it's close enough.

I didn't get tested but I'm assuming they might do it randomly. It could depend on management at your store. As long as you don't smell like it or look high you will probably be okay.
