You are one seriously lucky guy, what an amazing sump really can’t wait to see everything set up in a future video, well have fun ,see you soon .Colin 🏴
Great sump, great video, great hair. Don’t listen to the haters. All things aside great stuff keep them coming. If you don’t mind me asking, how much was the sump the way you built it?
The sump is awsome bro but the top knot is on a different level. But really the sump is just amazing and nice to see someone else who also has the beast AKA Maxspec due. Happy holidays
Nice sump Marcus! I understand your thinking on why you have them there, but I worry your heaters could be exposed to air in the return section if something goes wrong.
I run the heaters in my return chamber in my current build and its never been a problem in nearly 3 years. Most issues result in water draining into the sump, not out of it... cant really think of many scenarios that would lead to the sump draining that low unless I was manually removing water from the system
Nice xmas presents to yourself Marcus, love watching the way the build is coming along, and can't wait to see water flowing through that beast of a sump
Nice sump , be interesting to see after a few months off use , would you change anything about it ,or is it your perfect sump . I have a new D-D pro 1500 tank , but I’m getting a custom sump built in the new year . Takes a lot of thought .
It really makes no difference performance wise, the water will already be pretty well filtered of particulates by the roller-matt which definitely needs to be first. The order of the skimmer, algae scrubber and biomedia following that really makes no difference.... none of those things make any material change to water quality via a single "pass" of the flow. They all operate effectively via multiple tank turn overs per hour.
yeah, unfortunately not many other places to put them. I would say the risk is low because they are actually mounted to brackets that are mounted to the sump, so the brackets would be damaged in that circumstance, but not the actual sump.
Im Jelous. What a beautiful piece of equipment!
Great design! 👌😃
Thank you! Cheers!
very detailed subscribed
Very sexy sump, love the algae scrubber and overall the amount of thought put into the design!
Thanks Richard!
Great walkthrough of the sump👍 looking 👀forward to the video of the sump being plumbed in and working, it sure is jam packed with features. 👍🏴
Coming soon!
Bloody awesome mate, love it!

Love this sump. Particularly the fantastic turf scrubber 👏
Yeah its my favorite part too!
Man, that's a very nice sump. Congrats! Excited to follow the dream build!
You and me both!
Very nice, that's a lot in a small space, look forward to seeing it plumbed and working.
You and me both!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
So jealous, cant wait till the day I set up my new tank with a custom sump like that. Nice work.

That sump is crazy!!!! you are certainly a nerd lol :) love the channel. vids are getting better, keep it up.
Appreciate it!
Wow..superb..do you have refugium chamber and light for those in this sump?
Not running a refugium, instead I am running an algae turf scrubber, waterfall style. The lights are built into it.
The sump is awsome bro but the top knot is on a different level.
But really the sump is just amazing and nice to see someone else who also has the beast AKA Maxspec due.
Happy holidays
Glad you like it!

Very nice. Happy Christmas.
Thank you! You too!
This gonna scare the beginner as well as those on the fence going into this hobby .
Nice xmas presents to yourself Marcus, love watching the way the build is coming along, and can't wait to see water flowing through that beast of a sump
Santa was very generous this year!
We need a seperate update vid on the new hairdo.
New year, new hair! Needed a change for 2021
@@ReefNerd btw did you have to source the santa monica leds yourself? Or was hmahli able to source them for u?
I can't seem to get the Hmahli website to work. Anyone know whats up with it.

Time will tell, so far to me its perfect, but its not plumbed and in use yet!
I dig the hair! Looks good man
Appreciate it! Needed a change for 2021
Your hair bro.🤣🤣
Amazing sump btw. You're inspiring me big time.
Awesome! Thank you! Yes new hairstyle for 2021!
Why not have skimmer after roller and then bio media. Why bio media before skimmer?
It really makes no difference performance wise, the water will already be pretty well filtered of particulates by the roller-matt which definitely needs to be first. The order of the skimmer, algae scrubber and biomedia following that really makes no difference.... none of those things make any material change to water quality via a single "pass" of the flow. Have to lose the man bun. It is so bad
Get used to it HAHA! Im not done yet!
@@ReefNerd lol look forward to it
Totally needs to go!!! Hahahaha
When sealife centre meets domestic aquarium, shame it will be behind doors :)
haha I certainly did think about having windows in the doors!
You should actually NEVER ever mount heaters in your return pump section...it's the first chamber to run dry ...heaters stay on and melt your sump....
yeah, unfortunately not many other places to put them. I would say the risk is low because they are actually mounted to brackets that are mounted to the sump, so the brackets would be damaged in that circumstance, but not the actual sump.
To much shit that can break .. don’t need all that
