Thanks for showing more details about setting up your sump. Much better video than the " Hey I got a new sump and here it is finished" videos. Great Job!
Wow. Placing my order in. Starting a 5x3x2 peninsula and after seeing this sump I will order my own 36L sump from GEOS.. thx for the vid really helped to seal my decision.
@@ReefDudes You deserve it mate - you do so much for the hobby - it's about time it you got something so special that you didn't have to build (just set it up;)
Pretty slick! Congrats on the final piece of the tank. I will be interested to see how the cryptic reactor works over time, and if it accumulates detritus, etc. Great method for essentially extending the sump volume and adding more biofiltration. Thanks as always for the great video!
Nice and I really like that you're running a cryptic reactor, I was thinking of doing something similar with my current build. There's a thread on R2R that I still upon that is very informative on cryptic zones.
That sump is doooope. Will definitely be using geos on my next build. Don't want to be negative Nancy but what are you going to do for nitrate and phosphate? You have the roller, skimmer, I'm guessing carbon in the reactor, the refugium, and the cryptic. Sounds like some crazy over complex filtration.
that was a beautiful sump .. I have the same peninsula for a years now I know you have a video when you put the Clarisea 5000 filter roller Just wondering if you still have the video how you did it
well you have to plan and stick with one skimmer for it to work but i LOVE having lids on all the chambers, contains all the water/less evap/less noise/less smells, less humidity in your stand. Tons of benefits to it. Plus it gives it a nice polished look!
Time will tell! I have read lots about cryptic zones in the past and their advantages. For me it keeps the sump cleaner. Forces water though the bio media rather than around it. Prevents alage on it etc. So so good potential advantages.
GREAT LOOKING GEOS SUMP MAN!!! Do you know what model number this sump is? I think you said it’s a custom sump. Do you remember the person who helped you? have the same Waterbox peninsula as yours. Thanks a million!
Thank you! I love it. If you asking them for the reefdudes waterbox 7225 special they will have the plans for it! :) it turning out amazingly well! Love it
Will copepods be able to make it from the refugium back to the display since the black sponge filter is in the way to block the chaeto from entering the tank?
I would think they could make it no problem. They would probably populate in that sponge. In my tank nothing stops them cause they are everywhere and I only added them to the fuge originally.
@@onemansgarage9658 haha so true! I'm not too worried about it but time will tell :) i therew out 80% of my old chaeto and just took a bit of cleaner looking bits for this one so well see once that fuge is in full swing
Man that's crazy cool! I wonder about the ro float valve being right next to the probes. Won't the ro water mess with your readings? Or maybe the return pump is strong enough that it doesn't matter. :)
Yea we shall find out! It’s magnetic so I can always find it a new spot if need be. Or just further down by the reactor but then the rodi would flow towards the probe. Not you got me curious
Prob use the refbrite for now and see how it does, its pretty dang bright! Ill likely just move the AI prime to my office frag system when thats up and running.
What are the dimensions on this sump. I have been looking for a sump with a fuge and roller in one and there isn’t many options that will fit under my 100 gallon stand
Dev, I am ordering one for my 7226. I am intrigued on how you changed out the plumbing. Did you changed it at the unions after it comes out of the tank?
That looks really awesome 👏🍾 The Bio reactor, will that cause nitrates to spike over time with detridus buildup? And Would Marin pure bricks 🧱 serve as the same purpose?
The sump it came with was actually very nice! I have wanted a custom one with lids for a while now so decided to go custom since this is my last upgrade for a long time :)
Hey, been watching all your videos about the peninsula. I'm planing to get one myself soon. Was just wondering is it a lot more expensive to get the sump with costum dimensions than just getting one on their website that isn't custom. Btw love your tank it looks amazing. Learned a lot from your videos so far.

Thanks UK Reefer!!! 😍
ReefDudes anytime pal, making me seriously think now about the sump for an upcoming upgrade
Well if you go that route I highly recommended it. I have always been to cheap and did a basic glass one. But these custom ones are next level!
ReefDudes I’ll definitely look into it pal, I’ll need to find someone in the uk though 🙈

Nice flow thru of the sump! It's hard to gauge the demissions and gallons. What are your thoughts on a split lid for the skimmer chamber?

32"x 23"x 15"
Hi where did you build your sump ?I need one the same can you let me know please
www.geosreef.com
Great video, what flow rate will you be flowing through the cryptic reactor?
Thanks
I dont have a meter to test it so just kinda went looks 1/2" line has a decent flow but not rushing through+
Do you have a video on changing the filter roll for the geo sump? Is it the same as changing it on a normal sk-5000?
How do you like the L2 return pump? How much flow (gph) do you think it is?

No filter socks or filter pad? The drain water goes straight to the Clarisea?
It goes into first chamber then into calriseas

Prob use the refbrite for now and see how it does, its pretty dang bright! Ill likely just move the AI prime to my office frag system when thats up and running.
Where did you get the metric to standard adapters? I did a quick search on BRS but didn’t find them.
BRS or CoralVue. One of the two. Ordered plumbing parts from both
What media are you using in your cryptic?
Eshopps biolux there are tall rectangle blocks of filter media. They stacked up nicely inside

Great video Devin! Quick question for you… does the sump come with the Clarisea? Or is it fitted so you can install one you’ve already purchased?
I already has one so used the brain / motor from mine to keep it cheaper and he build the custom insert part that slide into the sump for me :)
