    I think one of the coolest parts of this game is it really shows inner thoughts of the character. The fact that your inner voices are all trying to warn you about the tie, or how sometimes your various 'stats' will argue with each other about the best course of action.

    one thing I am finding I love about the attribute system is that it seems if your ACTUAL personality is similar to your build, you will tend to feel quite natural and enticed by the gameplay that results. The raw organization of the attributes, the writing and dialogue trees, and the art style really seem to help this happen organically quite a lot.

    One of the best (most unique) things about this attribute system and the game it supports is that it actually respects and accounts for the way people think, rationalize, draw conclusions and solve problems. No other game I've played (TTRPG or CRPG) has put this much attention into getting social/intelligence characters right. It's not just "make an Intelligence check to solve the puzzle that's been here for a hundred years but no one else can figure out" or "roll Charisma to charm the pants off this NPC." These stats don't just exist because they're pre-reqs for a class or to boil down non-physical actions to a simple die roll. These concepts for handling internal dialogue, mental states and social interaction should (read: should) revolutionize the way we think about Mentals and Socials in all RPGs. They probably won't.... We'll still use INTs and Socials as dump stats play characters as if they have the same mentals and socials as the player. We'll still treat Intelligence as if it's Strength, except that instead of a hammer wielded in your hand, INT is a hammer wielded in your mind. And we'll still treat Charisma like it's a rating on a Hot or Not list.
    Anyway: rant /off.

    • @shadedergu9921
      @shadedergu9921 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's why I liked Low Int in Fallout 1 and 2

      You've probably played already, but it shows you a percentage chance of success. The easiest example is 50%. If you roll a 7-12, you succeed. If you roll a 1-6, you fail. The higher the percentage of success you have the larger the range of dice roll outcomes for a successful check. There are also skill checks constantly being done in the background that will influence what kind of opportunities will be presented to you.

I made it to the bar/lounge area but the dude seems really dumb, he doesnt even know if he is a real detective or not. I dunno if Im screwed and shpuld just start over or just continue just to see what happens. 4-4-2-2 is good. Most of the passive chenks require 4 points in skill, with 4-4-2-2 you can up red and yellow categories to 4 if you want and everything else is already at 4. And the first 2 categories are kinda a more important and cop-y skills

    The whole video was great fun and informative but I especially liked the part of the end where you said I heard that when your intelligence is basically zero that you're really dumb and can't understand things and I just thought it was really funny that you were explaining how intelligence works dad if it's basically zero you're dumb and don't understand things and I thought it was hilarious that in real life if the person listen to their intelligence level is basically a zero then they're unlikely to comprehend your explanation or even be able to press play on the video etc. Intelligence level noll yeah baby all natural.
    I don't like to brag but my intelligence level is like way up there at least four twos and threes you know. Okay well maybe it's not for Jews and threes maybe it's just one two or three OOOOOOR it could be like 2+3 making it a more then FOUR! Electro-chemistry is THE MOST fun. Even if you aren't taking any drugs, it's still fun to read her/his lines.
    And it suggests to touch penis of the hanged man.
    Also shivers are like encyclopedia. They give you a lot of lore and stuff, but not much of dialogue options or anything else. Cool if you really want to dive into thr backstory, actual story etc. Esprit the corps gives lore too, but it actually does something in dialogues, in particular it can say that you should give a word to Kim, and he will really carry you in some instances
