It's hard to explain to a younger generation who don't understand our love for Star Wars, but it really was a love of the toys primarily. We loved the look of these cool figures who were barely in the movies but who meant a lot to me. I've met actors at comic cons who played people like Klaatu and Prune Face based purely on how beloved their characters were to us, via the toys.
You have served the empire well, the emperor shall be pleased with this restored addition to the imperial army! Haha Amazing job! I love the display too.
Another great video Polloi! Thanks...I'm looking for a hatch for my original Twin Pod Cloud Car. Also I may have something good to send you. Let me peruse my collection.
You could have just filled the head holes with superglue, and then gone over it with a white paint marker - that's what I did many years ago. Superglue is a good small hole filler in it's own right. It will degrade, and indeed dissolve, if it gets wet, by the way.
Can anyone help me with disassembly of an old figure like this? I have a few that I'd like to take apart to make molds from, but I'm worried that I'll destroy them trying to pry the front and back halves of the torso apart. Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks for your help. I just watched your 12 inch Stormtrooper video restoration. Not sure why but, I really like that figure, just the general expression of it all. I'm going to keep and eye out for one :D Really enjoying these restorations and fixes :D
Is there any significances or rarity to this particular figure that comes apart like this? I’m asking because I own hundreds of Star Wars figures and many are Snowtroopers. Only one of the entire lot comes apart like this. I’ve never repaired it because I didn’t know if it had any significance. Thanks for your help.
That came out pretty good. Isn't there a way to whiten the limbs up somewhat though? Maybe soak them in hydrogen peroxide out in the sun for a few hours? Some day I need to fix my Princess Leia figure. My sister broke one of her legs off when we were kids. The leg of course is long gone. If I can pick up another broken figure at some point maybe I can attempt a repair like you've done here.
Do you have any tips for separating the torso part of the figure like in the beginning of the video? I know they are fragile and tend to break, and I want to avoid ruining the figure when I separate the front and back parts.
ohh thats what the insides look like?? weird, i knew they were hollow just because if you glue a head to a torso, the glue will drip outta the leg holes.
Who do you get those damaged figures from?!? Bart Simpson? Geez, those kids treated those toys rough! Almost as bad as the kids who got off on burning ants with magnifying glasses!
the hoth trooper has always been my favorite stormtrooper, I've always loved the long mask on the figure.
They look more "bad guy" too

+Toy Polloi have you ever thought of 3d printing parts?
I have. But I don't have a 3D printer yet.

wonder if that was the snowtrooper that the Wampa got in the deleted scene?
RIP ghost
Nicely done, he's ready to be re-deployed to Hoth again after the rebels blasted him! Lol The Rebellion Lives!!!
How do I pop limbs back in, if the body is not split in two?
How do I pop limbs back in, if the body is not split in two? I removed Max Rebo's limbs and now it's super difficult to put them back...

I love how fanboy-hoarders from around the world unite to get a single fig back together!
We look out for each other. I have a list of what I am after, but also keep an eye out for bits I know others are looking for.
Toy Polloi Yea, the SW collecting community is one of the better ones i belong to.
I think it's just toy collectors in general. I am amazed by the help and tips people send me for all toy lines.
This was the first figure I owned , Christmas Day 1983 , empire logo card
I need the left leg and both arms for my BG-J38 droid figure. :)
nice job. How's the millenium falcon parts hunt coming along?
Not bad thanks. Will be filming the second part soon. There are a few bits I am waiting to arrive. And some bits I have yet to find.

Do you have a video on how to take the figures apart? I've got a Boba Fett I'd like to repair, and it would be easier to do in pieces.
On that figure, I would boil and pop the limbs out. Watch my videos on hot to do that. Cheers

Once you have the arms and legs out you can normally pry them apart with a screwdriver placed in the leg and arm holes. But go slowly.
Toy Polloi Thanks for the advice!
Nice job. Does the acrylic paint wear off?
+leespiderpod These just go on display so don't get much wear.
What! You don't play with them when the missus has gone out?
leespiderpod humbrol paints are most typically used for model kits...so it should be fine for handling but will scrape of if scratched....
I have an arm from a Luke Skywalker from the early eighty's, it's only an arm and it's missing a thumb. Any chance you could restore it ???...
can you make one on how to fix gi joe with no screws on back or legs?
+Joel Viramontes Not a line I collect. What's broken on it?
the rubber band and im not sure how to take apart like you did to trooper?
+Joel Viramontes Watch my mego repair videos. Those might help.
thanks previous owner already opened it at glued ,so i just glued sections together and it like new with articulation still!
ever do the super glue and baking soda thing to fill gaps?
How have I missed this video?
I've made about 600 videos now. So it's easy to miss them. I have trouble remembering what I have filmed now.
Are you ever tempted to paint these discoloured figures from head to toe in white paint, just to give it a uniformity?
Nope. I really don't like the look of a plastic figure painted. I would rather it looked like it should do, even a bit miss matched.
ohh thats what the insides look like?? weird, i knew they were hollow just because if you glue a head to a torso, the glue will drip outta the leg holes.
Do be gluing the heads on. Use my handy videos to see how to re-attach the heads and have them still possable :)
Your sink is a star wars set piece.
Add lego hip tabs to a vintage Vader and cut a black one.
Don't think it's ever been done.
my dog chewed up my imperial army almost 30 years ago : (
+AKN Concept Was he part of the rebel alliance?
AKN Concept he was part of the rebel alliance and traitor. I hope you took him away
Clean it in some Hoth water! Ba dum tssss!
You weren’t kidding about your Imperial Army! Is your surname Sidious by any chance?
I've got some badly damaged star wars figures and a pair of voltron arms that I have no use if you want the they're yours
I never turn down a broken star wars figure. Get in touch via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Glue those together
Create toy abomination!
He got his left and rights wrong
Who do you get those damaged figures from?!?
Bart Simpson?
Geez, those kids treated those toys rough!
Almost as bad as the kids who got off on burning ants with magnifying glasses!
Kids play rough with toys. This is nowhere near the worst toy I have restored.
