Great video, curl sponges can be used dry and product is really just to lock in sheen moisture when wearing curls. Also it helps denser hair with more volume shape faster. My only critique is that you shouldn’t be using a towel to make curls. Towels strip our hair of moisture and a 3B/3C with sparser hair like you might be able to get away with it but anyone in the 4s will see frizzed out curls, dry hair, and eventual breakage.
I just started my second loc journey about 3 weeks ago I’ve been growing my hair for 3 months now and I’m using a dread sponge and I wash my hair every other Sunday and condition it and about every Wednesday I would add some coconut oil to my hair and twist it and people always think that I got my hair twisted in the shop which I find to be pretty cool (my hair type is 4b)
I started my first set of locks in 2015 with the sponge, they came out AMAZING and I'm starting my locs again this time the same way I did last time but this time I won't have hightop I'll have locs with a low taper
Try Rose water mixed with Tea Tree oil and Vitamin E oil and add a little water and in a spray bottle smells amazing . Also wild growth one one or twice a week can help the growth process a little quicker
Also pro tip, you could also get a cheap sponge at ur local beauty supply store, or at a barber shop. There's a ton of different ones in my area. I had to cop it. Bout to start my journey soon 😎👍🏾👍🏾

SteveySteve it doesn’t really even define your curls honestly it just bunches your hair up to give a more defined and sectioned look, which is why it’s perfect for dreads. calling them dread sponges is perfectly fine.

Honestly never thought someone with loose curls like his would be able to use the sponge. My curls are loose like his & the sponge never worked for me but I should have grown my hair out longer based on this vid.
So I started my comb coils 1 month ago and have not gotten it retested yet. Is it possible for me to use the sponge and go the direction my coils twist or will doing this just mess up and undo my coils?

I have 3c/4a and when I would use the sponge years ago I had the same results. I didn’t start my locs that way but it is a great way to start!
