So in the video at about 5.24 you show the removal of that last screw holding the lock on. The head of that bolt is actually a T-20 on my 2018 Escalade. The other not so simple part is how to get it out, without dropping it inside the door panel plus retrieving it through the tiny space that is left while you are pushing the other thing over to the right. Even though you can reach inside the door space you can only hold on to the first screw he retrieves, but not the on coming in from the side of the door. If someone got it I'd love to know the details. Honestly the video is really excellent up to that point. I did discover that to remove the panel you have to really pull it out gently as much as possible pull up first from the left side of it until it disengages and gradually keep pulling up from the bottom on the right side. Once out its a matter of disconnecting the 3 things that are connected. I would have loved to take it all the way to the end to actually do the door handles myself, but I chickened out for fear of dropping that screw into the door panel from where you would never be able to retrieve it. I don't know how much that particular screw costs, but just in case I have to do this in the future now I know I can do it, if I have a replacement that way I won't care if I loose it. Maybe if you have a magnetic tip T 20 it will help. I took my handles and truck to my mechanic and I'm having him do it. Thank you for actually showing some useful things for the Escalades, that are newer because there is not that much posted on them.
Great video on removing the door panels, thanks! Do you happen to know it the interior panels need to be removed in order to remove the outside molding? I am referring to the lower door molding, not the window trim. I want to paint mine black like yours and can't find a video on how to remove them.
I did everything you showed and I got to the part where I had to pull the panel up to remove it but it would not budge. All screws were off, all the clips on the side too. It pulls outward completely but how much force is needed to dislodge along the top edge. I don’t want to break anything.
Great vid. Got me through removing the door panel. Had to watch this vid to put it back on. Didn't know i had to take off the rubber molding and metal clips to put it back on. Almost broke all kind of stuff putting it back on. th-cam.com/video/eq9auY_5uv8/w-d-xo.html
You are a blessing to all of us thank you
Can the wood piece on the door panel be removed or is it made to the panel?

Chad Marsh I believe it’s just double sided tape. You can either pry carefully or use some floss or fishing line to cut the tape

Do you need to remove entire door panel? Or can speaker cover be removed separately
Thanks…
Will the plug on the original door handles work if I swap to illuminated door handles?
Did you ever find the answer to this question? I was wondering as well and that’s what got me to this video.
@@Rob-bw5pe I have not.
My speaker grill is broken on the drivers side. Does that piece come off? I see a possible replacement part but I’m not sure any suggestions.
Thanks!
