I remember being super excited to see those cutscenes with my brother. They always looked so satisfying to watch especially the parts where bigger changes started happening like it started moving or the large plate with the cogs came out of the ground more
Fun fact: the Skylanders comics actually explain some of the things that're off in the sequel games, like how Kaos went from good to evil from Trap Team to Superchargers and how he made a clone of him to do his bidding that turned on him after Superchargers but before Imaginators.
So a few things 1. Eon isn't the last portal master, Kaos and Kaos's mom are portal masters there just not "good" ones 2. Yes skylanders is technically apart of "real life" but they can only move in the game or skylands as they are statues in "real life" 3. The darkness isn't really a bad thing unless used in a bad way like Kaos does. Onto that Eon is mostly the light element while Kaos family Is mostly the dark element. 5. So I say mostly as in the tv show Eon can use dark magic but it makes him sick.
SSC disproves the Darkness' motives (then again, SSC was made by vicarious Vision and not Toys For Bob). The Darkness, and Dark magic are two seperate things
@shaden.l.m.9506 I guess that's true however it's still a same case scenario with darkness and dark magic just don't use it for bad bad or your bad bad
My head Canon for why you have to pay to get the figures: Ubisoft (or whatever company sold them) just found them and said “let’s hold a universe hostage for monetary gain” This would also explain why they all end up in toy stores and why some sky landers stayed in the stores. Not all of the toys were bought.
6:42 If you played the full cut scene you’d see that Kaos accidentally smacked one of the controls to the Arkeyan Conquer-Tron resulting in it accidental crushing the map
Yes kaos is an smart idiot .means he kann make good Plans but is to dum to do them but you can play superchargers before spyros adventure and think the Story like this becase the darknes is is even without kaos spredding
Actually, the reason why there were hardly any Portal Masters in Skylanders left was because Nefarion, the Nightmare King, wiped almost all of them out using the Mask of Power. Fortunately, he was stopped when Master Wizbit, a Mabu Portal Master, split the mask into different pieces. You can read about it in the prequel novels. Also, for SuperChargers, there was a prequel novel that detailed how Kaos managed to free himself from the Traptanium prison and was just pretending to be good. He and Glumshanks discover the last remnant of the Darkness, and so they escape and come back three months later with a devastating weapon - the Sky Eater.
I never thought about this before but since Soda Springs is right outside the Academy, then Mirror of Mystery is an alternate Soda Springs, because it is right outside the alternate Academy until the end of the level.
@somickiller0837 if you lock the primary attack to the magic element (hold your primary attack button to go from randomizing it to picking between the main 8 elements) your timer will increase with the magic element version of the primary attack and if you keep that up Kaos is basically immortal and can be used until the end of the level or boss
One thing I don't get in Imaginators is, how are the skylanders NPCs now? It was claimed in the first game that the skylanders were banished to Earth and only portalmasters can bring them back. But here, the skylanders are roaming around in Skylands as if nothing happened!
Because it's not canon to the other games (Superchargers is the canon ending) and tied to the Netflix show "Skylanders Academy" if I remember correctly
It seems (according to the comics) that either Eon can bring them back, or we can leave them free to roam at the end of each of the games or ST. SI was not the first to do this.
We like to hate on Superchargers, but along with a cool story and music, it's also a game where you could customize the hub world (which isn't just cool visually, but also in that you can get a lot of gold and do training), complete both Skylander paths without resetting due to the Portal Power, and have the car, boat, and plane racing which is really like getting another game all together. It's also the Skylanders game where you had to by FAR buy the least amount of stuff to access all the platforming content. Even not counting the character and car that comes with the starter (as you have access to a virtual version of both), if you only bought a plane and boat (two toys), you could now complete the entire story. All the other games required at least 8-10 Skylanders for Elemental gates, Giants, Swap ability characters, Traps, Trap Masters, Senses, and specific adventure pack pieces to open entire levels. I guess the trophys unlocked extra racing levels so there's that, but overall Superchargers was a game that you didn't need a hoard of figures to complete. The movement and overall control system also got a notable upgrade, characters felt very balanced which was a huge upgrade from Trap Team, and visually you had a very nice mixture of organic and metallic surfaces. The Spell Punk Library level also introduced a lot of people to the very neat genre of modern 2d stuff, and as far as Minigames go I would put the Ignition Lock Puzzles and Overdrive sardgames above all the other puzzle and cardgames. Also, the twist ending with the Darkness coming back to start eating the credits was very well done and more than made up for the arguably boring actual boss battle. Skylanders Superchargers was a charming and unique gaming gem for sure, even if I came out while we were already flooded with the franchise.
Probably important to note: Kaos is considered his completely own individual element, not even a portal master or mystery element or anything solely Kaos, specifically using his forehead emblem thing. Also you didn't really touch on any of the side levels I think.
Kaos is actually a dark Portal Master, and is brought up in a couple of occations. (And he, and His mother are not the only ones of their kind, as (more so brought up in the books (still briefly)) they came from a group known as the "Kaos Clan" who used to terrorize Skylands
You forgot to mention how the light and dark skylander disappeared after the first core of light was destroyed and reappear after kaos destroyed the trap prison
I’d like the concept of remaking the sky lander series since I was late to the fandom let alone late to getting some sky landers without shelling out serious catch to play with which sky lander I might like, if they made it to where you unlock the sky landers for each game with some kind of collectible or complete a series of challenges for them.
Welp to me they should remake only ssa and giants cause they are the only "old Gen" skylanders games and also ps4/5 and Xbox one/series xs players aren't able to play those
My interpretation is that the toys are vessels and that it is likely that there souls are contained within the toys (due to the explosion they were sealed as stature as a protection method (why chaos wasn't turned into a statue and was able to fully use the portal as an entrance)
Something I really really liked about Imaginators Story was that some of the OGs from SSA were brought in as actual characters and characterised as "veterans" so to speak. I've always really liked seeing your previous player character show up in a sequel.
Superchargers did not retcon Trap Team Kaos being trapped, read the Rift into Overdrive comic and you will see, it is explained how he escapes, rebuilds his army, and becomes emperor, eventually building the Ultimate Weapon 2.0, or the Sky Eater as most of us know it!
at 22:34 you're talking about how Kaos breaking out of his trap and then taking over skylands is a big plot hole. But the thing is, between each game a graphic novel was released. The one between Trap Team and Superchargers is called "rift into overdrive" it explains why flynn cali and hugo all get captured, why the academy looks very different, why we never see the dread yacht again after trap team, how kaos was able to bring the darkness back, and a lot of other things. I would highly recommend it, it's a very entertaining story, and is easily my favourite out off all the graphic novels.
I remember after the level in Giants where he got the map and broke it I spent a solid ten minutes trying to figure out what happened to the map. I eventually figured out it was old, and over time it became more fragile and then since the strength of the Conkertron was too much the robot accidentally crushed the map. I appear to have used all my brainpower on that theory since now I am just dense
The sky lander game was literally my childhood. My favorite was some robot dragon? Can’t remember the name. The game I used to play was spyros adventure. It’s my entire childhood. My dads favorite character was the little thing with the two big golden guns

Only for the game to take a 180 on us and give us a final confrontation against the Darkness. Just sumorizing the plot just makes me wanna play it again
Skylanders lore got my autistic ass in a chokehold as a kid. I read the books, the little comics I got at Gamestop, the guidebooks that had little pieces of lore in them... the show literally had such cool lore and it's brushed over like it's NOTHING! Like... AHHHHHH I literally based an entire OC I used for all my favorite medias and the reason she teleports across the universe is because of this damn game.
Skylander giants just gives me the nostalgia of my first time playing skylanders and heading toward floating island to find the big fist of arkus and defeat kaos
I really liked this video I remember when I first played skylanders giants I had one more skylander left during the boss battle with kaos, SO I GOT MY MUM TO DO IT FOR ME. I was a dumb kid I still own all of my old skylanders there is a lot. I was obsessed with that game, but hey it had me make fan characters and now I'm going to art school so can't complain. edit: mesmerelda was my favorite boss fight i played it like 50 times
Yooooo my skylanders imaginators finally came I’ve been playing it for the past 3 hours and it’s mad fun the only problem is that the imagination crystal was used but they made a cool character at least
“It doesn’t tell me why we have to pay to get them” Well I saw a comment that said Activision just found them first and are basically keeping them hostage unless someone pays for them. Obviously they weren’t being serious but I thought it was funny
you clearly forgot some things 1. the release of the Light & Dark elements 2. Kaos' escape from Trap Team is explained in the comic Rift into Overdive 3. you said you would go in chronological order, meaning the Giants backstory should have gone first
He said at the start he was only covering the games and the order we see events happen in them. If we wanna get real then let’s take a deep dive into story scrolls, kaos’ past, the 5000 different ancient races the games kept making.
Kaos is a portal master aswel. As glumshanks mentions that portal masters aren’t supposed to go through portals themselves in the opening scene of giants. So that means Eon, Kaos, Kaossandra and the player are portal masters.
The thing between Trap Team and Superchargers is explained in the comic, Rift into Overdrive. SPOILERS Kaos fakes being good for another long time, and long story short he finds a tiny bit of The Darkness, then he used it to build the Sky Eater.
The last game removes all the likeable characters, replaces them with SA and giants skylanders with annoying dialogue, has kaos get lead on by an ancient brain E girl while sending out 9 of the lamest bosses in skylanders history and then got cucked by the brain so it could give you shitty annoying missions from the characters you actually like that occasionally make cheap fourth wall breaks. No fun antics kaos gets up to really or story scroll equivalents. Just 10 rather uninspired stages and a brain E girl…
If I remember correctly, I was able to beat skylanders trap team without dying once. I still have no idea how my baby ape brain was able to beat it let alone beat it without dying
So in skylanders giants I think the cutscene where chaos is talking to the skylanders in toy form the reason is that people saw the toy skylanders and made copies of them and were selling them and chaos was just thinking they were the actual skylanders and made the conversation up
one thing you missed is that the two new elements that were introduced in trap team, dark and light were released from skylands when the prison blew up
@@sageofsixpathskakashi3742 yea I’m pretty sure there was a little intro to the dark and light levels or just somewhere in the game where eon just said they were released when the prison blew up They don’t have eternal sources tho so how would it have been lost when the core was destroyed
I think there's a simple explanation for the problem caused by the beginning of giants. Activision and Toys For Bob realised that the skylanders were different, and set about trying to replicate them. They were successful, and that's why there were still toys. Those toys were replicas.
I think that there's still some unreleased skylanders video games that never got released to the public like for example "skylanders: spyro's kingdom" and "skylanders kingdom" basically.
The skylanders where sent to Earth when the core to light got destroyed, and we as “portal masters” put them in the space of skylands. So it makes sense that in giants we saw them as toys because they have been on earth and we controlled them as portal masters.
so uh just a quick comment. in trap team there was a boss in the sunscraper spire (an area that came with knight light and the light trap) that disguised themselves as mags. there's also the mirror of mystery which is essentially a world where eon and all the skylanders are evil and kaos and the trolls are the good guys. there's a couple interesting lore points about eon and an unnamed portal master on the description of spotlight, a light element skylander. there's a few bits and pieces of lore sprinkled around, but you covered most of it.
Da pinchy has to be my top 1 npc. Also i finished all of nighmare mode (all of the games on nightmare mode) and the last one i did was superchargers i actually started crying of happiness when i beat the darkness, it was that hard!
Man, I loved skylanders as a kid, I have the fondest memories playing giants, I also realized I have all of the giants, except for ninjini. But I honestly think I'm willing to spend the $76 to complete my collection.
Kaos escaping and turning evil is explained in the superchargers comics the last bit of darkness that was sealed in the academy empowered him enough to break free of his bonds.
I think Minecraft Dungeons should take some inspiration from some of the early Skylanders games. Minecraft Dungeons is very unbalanced. There is an effect, that can be given to any enemy at any point in a level. That effect reflects projectiles shot by you back at you, and most of the time, you won't notice it before you are dead. The effetc can only be identified by reading a piece of text at the top of the screen, and the text only shows up, when that enemy is selected as a target (when the player is looking directly at that specific enemy). I'm just really mad at Minecraft Dungeons for still having this thing in the game, and not changing it at all. when the player has the effect, it only goes up to like 45% of projectiles are reflected, and I use a bow, that deals around 15% of my maximum healt when the bow is not charged and I don't use any buffs, but when I do charge it, I can oneshot myself if I shoot into a group of enemies and even one of them has that stupidly op effect. Yes, I am just complaing, but I've gotta get it out somehow. Minecraft Dungeons is a fantastic game, when I don't die from shooting enemies from a safe distance or roll/dodge/dash/front flip while going through a door. edit: Well, they fixed the rolling through doors.
skylanders was basically my entire chilchood, i played all of them on ps3 so to see someone all this time later make a 30 min video about omg ty for this bro.
I’m pretty sure in the beginning of giants where it shows the toy Skylanders someone that worked at the store found them and started selling them because they can and the map broke because Kaos accidentally hit the lever.
One thing I remember is that my older cousin had swap force while me and my older brother had giants (we had the other games that after swap force too but that’s besides the point) and often visited us to play it with my brother, and since I LOVED giants and it was my favourite thing ever back then I always wanted to play too but they never let me so I never got to play it and didn’t know anything about the storyline or any parts of the game. Sad.
I wish they hadn’t milked the game so much I feel like we would still have skylanders today for that reason. And I also personally think trap team had the best storyline because for once it felt like kaos wasn’t the overall main villain and was actually a little more of a side villain until the end.
Crystal Kaos took every single one of my skylanders to beat and I finally beat him with my zook, which was the last skylander that had not yet been beaten
Thinking about this now with all of that petrified darkness couldn’t Kaos have just turned the skylanders evil? Getting rid of the people who were stopping him. I can see it being possible with what happened in Academy. (I also know video game wise it wouldn’t have been possible because you play has the Skylanders. Just feel like it’s good story potential.)
@@sageofsixpathskakashi3742 I may have tried to make a timeline, I have a decent amount of the books, and read the wiki-s because of a few fanfictions I'm writing because I don't want to butcher the lore (cough cough LIKE IMAGINATORS cough cough). If you want to see the one available to read (only has one chapter so far, still W.I.P.), feel free to ask. Edit: also it is my MAIN hyper fixation, which does help.

I literally based an entire OC I used for all my favorite medias and the reason she teleports across the universe is because of this damn game.
exact same thing as me - when it used to storm, i would tweak out next to the window cause i thought kaos was coming.
Nice
U you can reset if you want you need the ds version of ssa tho
If u have skylanders giants you can go into options and their should be a skylanders menu that allows you to reset whatever is on the portal
When they put Kaos and Glumshanks in a jar: 😳
Pony in the jar ptsd flashbacks
💀
Fill the jar.
@@somethingiguess1157 *NOOOOOHOHOOOOOOOO*
“It doesn’t tell me why we have to pay to get them” Well I saw a comment that said Activision just found them first and are basically keeping them hostage unless someone pays for them. Obviously they weren’t being serious but I thought it was funny
you clearly forgot some things
1. the release of the Light & Dark elements
2. Kaos' escape from Trap Team is explained in the comic Rift into Overdive
3. you said you would go in chronological order, meaning the Giants backstory should have gone first
He said at the start he was only covering the games and the order we see events happen in them. If we wanna get real then let’s take a deep dive into story scrolls, kaos’ past, the 5000 different ancient races the games kept making.
Chronological order as in release not timeline order I think
@@frogmouth2 We'd need The Theorior and Matpat from Game/Film Theory to even have a VAGE idea where the timeline starts
Kaos is a portal master aswel. As glumshanks mentions that portal masters aren’t supposed to go through portals themselves in the opening scene of giants. So that means Eon, Kaos, Kaossandra and the player are portal masters.
Good video.
In a comic we can see how Kaos get free from the trap.
The thing between Trap Team and Superchargers is explained in the comic, Rift into Overdrive.
SPOILERS
Kaos fakes being good for another long time, and long story short he finds a tiny bit of The Darkness, then he used it to build the Sky Eater.
I hate that Bill Cipher wanna-be.
I think maybe we have Skylanders in this world in the form of toys while Skylanders in their world is living breathing things,
Just realized how massive the Arkeyans had to be to be towering over the GIANTS
If I remember correctly, I was able to beat skylanders trap team without dying once. I still have no idea how my baby ape brain was able to beat it let alone beat it without dying
So in skylanders giants I think the cutscene where chaos is talking to the skylanders in toy form the reason is that people saw the toy skylanders and made copies of them and were selling them and chaos was just thinking they were the actual skylanders and made the conversation up
one thing you missed is that the two new elements that were introduced in trap team, dark and light were released from skylands when the prison blew up
Are you sure? I think they disappeared when The First Core of Light was destroyed and reappeared when the prison blew up
@@sageofsixpathskakashi3742 yea I’m pretty sure there was a little intro to the dark and light levels or just somewhere in the game where eon just said they were released when the prison blew up
They don’t have eternal sources tho so how would it have been lost when the core was destroyed
Chompy Mage must of joined the Doom Raiders after he was defeated in Skylanders:Giants
I think there's a simple explanation for the problem caused by the beginning of giants. Activision and Toys For Bob realised that the skylanders were different, and set about trying to replicate them. They were successful, and that's why there were still toys. Those toys were replicas.
I’m still hoping for skylanders to come back
same
Is spent like 7 years since the last game and I really REALLY hope in future 2026 skylander would return
It's be cool to compare this to the Netflix show because the lore varies greatly I think
Listening to him say how difficult Kaos’s boss battle was, makes me ‘excited’ to fight him on Hard mode.... yayyy
Nightmare: **Let me introduce myself**
Not gonna lie would love a spinoff about Kaos escaping Tanzania
I just realized that only Skylanders spyro's adventure and Skylanders imaginatiors did not have a own specialized team
16:21 Aww shoot! I really thought it was Flynn. Man, that question was really tough by contrast.
Sarcasm Mode: Now OFF
@UnKnown Chewy_User Huh? What do you mean?
You bring so much joy and nostalgia
Would you consider doing a video covering the lore of the 3DS games?
I think that there's still some unreleased skylanders video games that never got released to the public like for example "skylanders: spyro's kingdom" and "skylanders kingdom" basically.
The skylanders where sent to Earth when the core to light got destroyed, and we as “portal masters” put them in the space of skylands. So it makes sense that in giants we saw them as toys because they have been on earth and we controlled them as portal masters.
so uh just a quick comment. in trap team there was a boss in the sunscraper spire (an area that came with knight light and the light trap) that disguised themselves as mags. there's also the mirror of mystery which is essentially a world where eon and all the skylanders are evil and kaos and the trolls are the good guys. there's a couple interesting lore points about eon and an unnamed portal master on the description of spotlight, a light element skylander. there's a few bits and pieces of lore sprinkled around, but you covered most of it.
playing skylanders in 2021.....
massive respect
Da pinchy has to be my top 1 npc. Also i finished all of nighmare mode (all of the games on nightmare mode) and the last one i did was superchargers i actually started crying of happiness when i beat the darkness, it was that hard!
Why not tessa? 🥺

This man talks like a pneumatic drill with the clarity of the dust cloud around it
Man, I loved skylanders as a kid, I have the fondest memories playing giants, I also realized I have all of the giants, except for ninjini. But I honestly think I'm willing to spend the $76 to complete my collection.
Kaos escaping and turning evil is explained in the superchargers comics the last bit of darkness that was sealed in the academy empowered him enough to break free of his bonds.
Lol my first thought when hearing Superchargers was "We don't talk about Superchargers"
I was looking for a video just like this yesterday!
Sky landers is my childhood and I’m so sad no new Skylanders have been released
Skylanders malefor’s wrath is coming
Everyone lets revive Skylander lets show interest and support by buying Skylanders and traps and posting some stuff online
I remember being brought to tears over the wolfgang battle as a kid
Im am a German, so I never noticed Shell Shocks german Accent in my Version, but the "Power Schnitzel" made me laugh hard
skylanders was basically my entire chilchood, i played all of them on ps3 so to see someone all this time later make a 30 min video about omg ty for this bro.
chompy mage, a doomraider was mentioned in the wilikin world chapter in giants
I think it's funny how in the german version of SSF the Baron has a french accent XD
I think in reality Flynn gets doomraiders out of cloud creacker prisson, because he loves explosions. I mean, his main line is:
BOOM!
I’m pretty sure in the beginning of giants where it shows the toy Skylanders someone that worked at the store found them and started selling them because they can and the map broke because Kaos accidentally hit the lever.
It's almost 3am and my brain is like yah let's watch a 30min video of the lore of a 10 year old game that hasn't had any new games for almost 7 years
Go to earth, find a guy who can tell you anything, defeat Kaos. Boom every Skylanders game
The lore of skylanders is harder to solve than fnaf.
Very nice Video man ^^
I love skylanders, it made up my Childhood
the giants intro cutscene is explain by the Commercials , and a lot of the lore other lore too
I remember my parents got me superchargers for Christmas and I ended up finishing the whole thing in one day
I don't know why but I always imagined Kaos to be in his twenties for some reason. In academy he seemed to be maybe a teenager
Yeah, headcanons: Games: mid to late 20's, SA: early 20's
they do tell us about the superchargers “retcon” in the books that take place in between trap team and superchargers
My entire childhood the best part about it is when my Nan used to buy me and my brother skylanders every week (;
I didn’t know brock appeared in spyros adventure in the opening
I wish I could go back to the days when I had a wii and skylanders was first coming out. That was the best
oh wow a blast from the past
skylanders was a nice time
Yay Skylanders lore!!!
He actually made a note to self (mentioned in the Skylanders chronicles (SSA to SSF)) to do so, and is how the Dark Swap Force team was made
@@shaden.l.m.9506 I've seen you multiple times in here, you know the lore in and out. How?
@@sageofsixpathskakashi3742 I may have tried to make a timeline, I have a decent amount of the books, and read the wiki-s because of a few fanfictions I'm writing because I don't want to butcher the lore (cough cough LIKE IMAGINATORS cough cough).
