It seems like a good product but what I was noticing was how well the review was technically done. The camera placement shots, the effects (drone shots, 3/4 shots, slow motion shots) and the audio levels were great. I hope you got to keep the bag at no cost to you for shooting their promo.
Thank you so much! That is really nice of you to say. I had a lot of fun making it and I actually had a driver for a change so I could just fly the drone. :) I did get to keep the bag. Cheers
Hi Rick! Hi was wondering does it producing a lot of wind noise on the highway and how much does it effect gas mileage? Great product for when you need extra carrying capacity. I have the cross bars but took them off unless I need to carry a large screen TV from Best Buy on the roof if it is too big for the interior!
Ha ha. Nice! It is amazing how cheap giant TV's are these days. :) Not sure on the mpg at this point Dave, but I will let you know once I get a long trip under my belt. From the quick drive we did I didn't notice any noise at all, but we were not on the highway. Hope you are well.
Hello Rick, I thought items had to be loaded on the cross bars which need to be connected to the rails? So you can put this directly on the roof of the Trek, as shown? I guess that's why the antislip mat is included? I always you shouldn't put load directly on the roof itself. Thank you.
Placing it on the roof should be just fine as long as you don't overload it...but I'm not sure what kind of weight we are talking though. I think it is a good option if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a hard case and then have to store it when not in use. My favorite option currently for the Crosstrek is my hitch basket. Works out well and I just hang it on the wall in the carport when not in use.
I apologize this isn’t related to this specific video but I’ve been looking through your channel looking to find what skid plate and bumper you installed with the additional lights up front. If you can share the details and also please let me know if you’ve been happy with them 🙏
th-cam.com/video/U-8AdoNHEmc/w-d-xo.html This video is the install video of the LP Aventure front bar and there is a following video of the skid plate install. The are both excellent pieces, well built, easy to install, and have done a great job protecting the car. There is a downside to them though. First, they add about 45 pounds to the front of the car. Second, you will loose about 1.5 inches of ground clearance because of how the skid plate mounts to the bottom of the bar and not in the stock mounting location like the plastic shield that comes on the car. I chose this set up because it was the only bar that actually protected the lower front plastic area. The Crosstrek dips the nose into the dirt when you go though quick down and up washes and the like and I was scratching my front plastics a lot. I liked the idea of the skid plate not mounting in the stock location that way if it takes a big hit you have space between the skid and the engine etc. I ended up adding RalliTek springs to help off set the weight and to try and get some of the lost height back, but I only got about 5/8 back up front. They were supposed to give 1 inch. If you are doing a lift kit along with the bar and skid then you'll get the clearance back, but if not it is something to consider before going with this set up. I have some 1inch spacers I plan to put on the car when I get a chance so that will help a bit.
1:25 !! I want to know exactly what drone are you using? It is fantastic. I cant imagine needing more carry space - I did a 7 day motorcycle camping trip with a past girlfriend and we carried everything / clothes / cooking things / sleep / eat etc...... My Mother always said - take less stuff and more credit cards. :)
Love the mom comment. LOL. So awesome. The only time I have had room issues with the Crosstrek was on the way to the airport with 4 adult sized people and luggage for a 10 day Hawaii trip. The hitch basket is a nice thing to have around for those occasions. What kind of bike did you have on your trip? The drone is a Mavic Pro and thank you for your nice comment. It is a lot of fun to play around with.
I have never really researched roof baskets since I have bike racks up there, but I really like the CURT lift and hitch basket I have. So far so good on both of them. www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Roof_Basket-pm-Curt.aspx

Very cool! Thank you for letting me know and for watching along.

The motorcycle for that trip was an R100 BMW 1982 which I bought new in that year.
Yes. I have been riding for 43 years :)
Awesome! Sounds like it was would have been a great trip.
Whats a good brand roof basket that doesnt rust and can hold a flat 215/75/15 spare tire except Yakima?

Nice video
Thank you!
Nice bag but us vertically-challenged folks don't use roof storage ;) Thanks for sharing.
LOL. I have the same problem Deb. :) Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.
Saludos Rick , mis mejores deseos
Gracias José, ¡qué bueno saber de ti!
Someone has been working his biceps! Looking strong.
