Agreed not a fan of the dash as the years pass the screens will look outdated I would have liked if they kept it with the split dash and added more features in gage cluster
I’ve watched two previous videos on the new Mustang ahead of this one. Doug’s video gives more information and does a better job of providing a overview of the car and it’s features. Well done, Doug!
I agree, I hate them but I found the retro gauges somewhat amusing, especially the green glow at night. I just think these flashy screens are going to age like fine milk.
Mustangs may not be the fastest car out there, but Ford never disappoints with that sound. You can tell it's a V8 Mustang just by that sound ....... 10/10
It’s a very big miss match imho. All that effort to keep the old muscle look with a V8 and then completely screw up the interior to look like a basic eco car.
The Fox Body gauge cluster is such a cool touch. With almost every car going full digital dash I'd love more themes or retro design options. Why can't I make my mk8 golf r look like the mk4 dash!?
The unfortunate thing is, it doesn't really look anything like the fox cluster. Not the same shapes or fonts or anything. The only thing that looks vaguely similar is the fuel and temp gauges.
The Camaro isn't the only car to incorporate squared haunches on the rear fender. If that's the only thing that you think makes the new Mustang look like a Camaro, then I'd say the designs are still fairly different. It's certainly not a "copied design," like some people may be suggesting.
Looks like my 1968 Mustang Fastback rear fenders. 67 had the same. Don't necessarily think Camaro looking in the rear. But, the headlights are looking Camaro esc. Interior looks like it is going to be an electric vehicle at some point.
Just some notes I had on some things Doug didn't touch on... 1) Manual will not be offered with the 2.3 ecoboost, ford said it just wasn't selling well enough. 2) The performance package hand brake shown is still an electronic brake (its 100% or 0%) just has a fancy lever. 3) All gt's come with limited slip differentials, the performance package limited slip is an upgraded torsen unit.
@@nick0164 i dont know about you but even on daily use i dislike screens, i much prefer a more analog oriented interior since you can quickly learn how to change everything without taking your eyes off the road and the dashboard, at least in my opinion, is easier to read in all conditions when its analog
@@augustooliveira5588 I’m a big screen guy lol if you have a good system you can have just what you want on the screen and it quickly becomes second nature. The “calm screen” function is great for night driving and keeping the screen from being too disorienting for new users.
Honestly, I think it looks incredibly sharp, not overdone, but new enough to keep it fresh. This looks like a really nicely done iteration, hopefully it performs up to standard.
The front end of the previous model is better. The rear end of this new gen is better than the previous model. I hope they redesign that front end coz it looks pudgy and ugly.
I really like it. One of the more interesting features is something I'd wish more manufacturers would do, and that is USB ports near the rear view mirror. The amount of people that have to hack in to wires to get direct power. It was amusing watching Doug trying not to say radar detector though, since that's going to be 90% of the use of it.
Idk why it’s not mandatory to just put dash cams in the systems for all vehicles especially since most new cars all have a rear camera all they would need is a front camera with a sd slot somewhere
Though I miss some of the main analogue display gauges, some of the new features are very fun and cool and I dig that new exhaust note. the little easter eggs are awesome too
They manage to make the Mustang more modern in looks and addressed its “crowd killer” issue with the ebrake if it works well. Definitely going to be putting an order in for this
The whole crowd killer idea has nothing to do with even the mustang S550. The crowd killer was over after solid axle was replaced with independent rear suspension. And even then, it’s not so much that mustang has ever been a dangerous car as much as the young/inexperienced owners who purchase a 400+ HP car.
I love the Mustang, I actually enjoy this new exterior design a lot. The screens on the interior just feel a little tacky to me, I can't get over them for some reason
Yeah... I like the exterior a loooot, it's what I wanted out of my 2014 Ecoboost I had for a while, but I prefer the old interior design where you had buttons/knobs for everything and a screen... if that screen goes out you're stuck with no way to control anything while you find time to take it to a dealer
@@sirjoshuafaw yes the typical american cars stereotype ' the interior bad , cheap plastic ' bro you are paying $50k for this thing with a V8, try that with a german car you would need $70k and a kidney when the warranty ends.
the biggest change i noticed with the interior is they finally changed the dome light. ford has had the same dome light in the mustangs for decades. i thought it was tradition at this point to not change it.
Ford has done a good job of keeping the "real" Mustang relevant. It has a nice balance of retro and modern. I have a neighbor who owns a BMW 850 coupe and its shape truly reminds me of the Mustang. To me that's a good thing.
Ford is in it's death throws. Nothing innovative or interesting, they just compete with Tesla now. All their decisions are based on keeping the company alive.. Even if it means swallowing their pride and ruining the reputation of the Mustang. Sad.

Nice looking Mustang...it should be, it looks much more like a Camaro now, especially in the three-quarter view. The instrument panel is a big improvement over the current version, but purists aren't going to like it.
To be honest the design leaves me wanting more, Ford was known for their big redesigns of the mustang but I don’t see much of a difference here it looks nice but somethings missing
@@aestheticswim3397 same. Had a similar feeling about the new golf. I guess they sometimes nail the design so well that anything other than a refresh will make it look worse.
I've got to say, I love the car. They've kept it very simple and still made it look modern. The interior is very nice and even the center controls don't have to much buttons. Of course the V8 they've kept, is the best part about it.
Looks pretty ugly to me...Typical Ford crap! I love the 2 android tablets they just threw in there for gauges lol. Horrible design. They needed to integrate them better into the dash. It just looks like they plopped 2 tablets on top of the dash and called it good.
It looks like a Porche 944 Turbo to me 🤔. The Mustang 🐎 has some cool stuff, but I'd opt for a luxury or deluxe non 🏁 format. Many people do not drive NASCAR or street race 🏁🏁🏁 on weekends.
The massive screens are something I’d have to get used too, but I’m digging the exterior a lot. Although it being on the same chassis as the S550 is telling that it’ll go electric for the 8th gen.
@@ZPositive This car looks production ready, I think the screens are here to stay. That's just how cars are nowadays tbh, big screens everywhere. Might not change for a while for cars in general.
I have a 2012 f150 with a nice center stack WITHOUT the touchscreen and it looks so much better today than they ones that had the touchscreens. Its got basically all the features of the one with the screen as well, all the wireless connections and digital doodads. I really think the screens are going to go away at some point. They'll just come up with a cheaper alternative to the way they were making knobs and switches and implement that. Screens really are tacky, They're popular because they're cheap.
Old hat and really boring. Was novel at the time, now having a virtual dealer (Doug) show me lines on the body is boring. I’m unsubscribing. Most of these cars are unappealing and I just don’t care about his quirks
Saw one in a show room yesterday here in NZ didnt have price displayed but know its gonna be twice as much as in usa and then some , but it looks amazing!😊
The dual hump design of a Mustang was my favorite thing of them. Honestly dislike the way they screens are shaped like a Mercedes Screen and honestly how they went with removing the humps in the interior. It took away the DNA of a Mustang. All in all the rest is fantastic on their part for me.
Surprised not more comments point that out. The screens have gigantic black frames and look like a cheap Hyundai. They also don't look well integrated into the dashboard (design wise)
@@harvey-6125 I don’t even think the Mach E has that issue and I would expect that to carry over to this mustang. Just kinda odd to see thick black borders on a modern screen
Yeah. The giant black bevel makes no sense to me. The are absurdly thick, especially in a GT. I could understand it in a base model maybe, but not a GT
@@harvey-6125 exactly. I specially own the Mustang that inspired all of the new ones into modern life which is the 2005 S197 and I loveee my design elements. I wish they would have kept those humps and integrated the screens better. They seem like a design after thought. Like if a designer was like: "mehh just slap them there all cars have it so who cares if this one does." Lol. Mind you the humps whete such a trademark that everytime a regular person enters my car the first thing they say is how the interior is so different from any other car lol. Now this just looks plain.
Wow. This is modern and beautiful, inside and out. Like the modern take over the retro vibe of previous models. Looking forward to seeing this mustang on the market and on the roads.
I currently own a 2016 GT. Not sure those screens work for me, independent physical knobs and buttons are easier to operate when driving. That aside the 2024 model looks pretty good, if it ain't broke don't fix it comes to mind. I do wonder how many people actually buy these cars for track days? Most of the mustangs I know are tucked up in garages polished to within an inch of their lives! Thank you for the first look Doug, well done sir!
The headlights and the interior remind me of the new Silverado quite a bit. Silverado front end, Mustang middle, Camaro hips and Honda wing. Good job FoGMda
I think this mustang looks grown up. The previous one was like a teenager. This one looks like it finally grew up into an adult. I love it. I think the turn signals should’ve been a little slower but happy to see they kept the sequential blinking
As someone who has had so many dream cars ever since I was a kid but is still grinding. I hope when I can finally comfortably afford one they are still as cool as then
The thing I love most about my 550 is that because I work on computer screens all day, when I get in the car its not a bunch of screens in my vision. Help's me enjoy the drive
Lots of people will agree and disagree with me but, personally the s550 (401a) dash is my favorite use of modernizing an interior; placing the lcd screen inside the gauge cluster brow instead of the 24' tacky tesla style glue on screens imo is unmatched. Also there's no distinction between the premium trim versus the base trim in the 2024 GTs while in the previous models you had to upgrade to the premium model to option in the 401a package which is a pro and a con to whomever you're asking. I just feel like this new mustangs interior is lazy sadly. I can see iPad babies enjoying it but for me personally it seems tasteless.
500 horsepower. I have watched a video on this car's press release, and that's the horsepower figure, 26 fewer than the Shelby gt350. Kudos to Ford, for keeping the internal combustion engine old school manual n/a V8 formula in an ever changing world, where electric cars are the future and not tapping out like Mopar and the bowtie boys.
Really amazing. You can all love or hate the design, the newer features, the tech and whatever you want to pick on...but we should all appreciate and be very thankful that this still comes with a V8 and a manual.
I would have been fine with literally the same interior as the current one but with the new infotaiment, but nah every car gotta have huge screens everywhere
@@Carlisho The size doesn't bother me as much as the fact they they are combined (ugly) and not integrated into the dash in any way. It seems to be the new design trend, just look at the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ionic or the new Silverado EV. I hate it. The way they did the vents and switches below the screen looks cheap too.
I would really love to get one as soon as they are available, but we all know that dealerships are gonna slap ridiculous mark ups on these when they get them, unless Ford does something to prevent it.
Maybe you could make it slightly easier on yourself and place an order for a custom-built car. This might give you more room for negotiations because you don't have to contest for a car already in stock as if you were at an auction - the car is assigned to you as soon as it is built. It is likely that your local dealer will still try to add markups, but they should still be lower than usual, and, most importantly, you can get the car EXACTLY as YOU want it.
@@doctoremil2678 Is it even legal for a dealer to mark up a car that was delivered for a customer? I thought all the fees are then handed by the brand itself. At least that's how it works in most European countries. Usually you have to pay 1000€ while ordering, which later doubles as a dealer and delivery fee. Have been on US brands sites too and the system looks the same
I'm so freaking glad that this car still exists. It's nice to know that with everything being killed off by environmental regulations and electrification, us enthusiasts will still have a fun, manual, V8, RWD car that's reasonably affordable. Looks great, too!

I think Ford did an amazing job with these designs. Instantly loved them. I love all muscle cars but generally lean to Camaro and previously owned a 2016 SS. But I'd get this no question for my next muscle car.
Not a fan of the back end but other than that it looks good. Glad to see they are finally putting effort into their interiors. I use to always think Ford interiors were 2-5 years behind every other manufacturer with the use of cheap materials, vents, buttons and infotainment but now they’ve really stepped up their game and this looks fantastic inside.
@@Estearius Are you kidding me? The old way of putting screens in a car baked into the panels was so cheap and ugly looking. Don't know why the American brands did this for so long. Glad they decided to modernize and get rid of it.
Sticking tablet on top of plain dashboard is not modernization. Its a gimmick copied from TSLA and it makes user experience very poor. On the other hand, its much cheaper than previous method so car manufacturers will probably push this sh under the guise of "innovation" and "modernization". For me this is a huge dealbreaker, I will never consider car with such bad interior. I am also completely sure this fad will go away and we will get actually modernized and beautiful interiors in few years, when all "oh, its a touch screen!" awe disappers and ppl start to geet annoyed with how bad it feels to use them in such confiratuion for EVERYTHING in ther car.
@@Estearius I will agree that some interior and infotainment screens are done horribly. But having to use physical buttons to control a screen is unnesecary and tedious. Having no physical buttons for things such as climate control and having them integrated into the screen is also bad. I think recent kias have done a good job with their interiors and infotainment screens. Everything can be controlled with the touch screen and nessecary important functions such as climate control still have physical buttons. This mustangs interior could've been done a bit better after having a closer look with more features on the screen being turned into physical buttons.
Looks great. Although it’s sharper in some places it’s smoother in others. Noticed the doors and the rear quarter panel lost those hard lines that made it look more aggressive in the previous generation
@@canderful8703 The whole car looks like a Camaro to me, especially when looking at it from the side. It's not ugly but it's weird that Ford wouldn't want to distinguish itself from looking so much like the competition.

The Fox Body gauge cluster is such a cool touch. With almost every car going full digital dash I'd love more themes or retro design options. Why can't I make my mk8 golf r look like the mk4 dash!?

Glad I’m not the only MK8 Golf R owner watching this!
Dude I just came to the comments to mention that. It’s the little things. Lol
The unfortunate thing is, it doesn't really look anything like the fox cluster. Not the same shapes or fonts or anything. The only thing that looks vaguely similar is the fuel and temp gauges.
What’s with all the black surroundings on the dash screens. Seems like something from 2015
It’s starting to get Camaro like body lines especially by the back rear fenders. More square too.
Heh, I just commented that too. I don't think it's coincidence.
No... the remodeled Camaro looked just like the Mustang...
Lol Camaro copied the mustang

So glad this car still has an NA powertrain and manual. It even looks great too. Big props to Ford.

The whole crowd killer idea has nothing to do with even the mustang S550. The crowd killer was over after solid axle was replaced with independent rear suspension.
