- Happy Monday Friends! We got back from the National to find the Brand New 2023 Select blasters chillin’ on the front porch. Our excitement was at top levels for this rip, but are these worth all of the fuss? Plus, we picked up some bangers on our Second and final day of The National. So I like the Select Certified cards this year. Nice pull with the Purdys. Have fun trying to sleeve those diecuts. Thanks for sharing. Love the Gibbs RPA!
@@hammieandson the design of those is definitely better than in past years. The die cuts actually weren’t too tough to sleeve this year. I can’t wait to show off what you sent me!

Nice pickups! National looked like fun, but see where it can get crazy. i like the shows at the mall or small hotel that house 30 tables. So much easier to make deals and build a repour with the seller. Will probably pass on Select. Mosaic basketball will be out in a week or two, so got to save the cash. Thank you for sharing
I’m right with you there. I’m definitely going to start hitting some more local shows. The National was fun, but so crowded. I’m looking forward to your Mosaic bball rips!

@@pantherbreaks81 yeah that Gibbs is definitely a dream card for me. Kind of weird with all of the doubles, but I’ll take Purdy Die cuts for doubles all day….maybe not Ryland though. Haha!

I think the next few are going to be back in Chicago. It is definitely a fun experience. I’m planning on going again next year for sure!

I can still see it on there. Sometimes TH-cam does some weird stuff with comments. The Gibbs may be my favorite card in the PC at the moment.

It’s weird they haven’t actually gone live yet. My guess is today or tomorrow, but who knows. I’ll probably try a couple from target if they don’t sell out right away.

That Gibbs RPA looks great! I’m a sucker for the parallels (especially the tie dye) in Select. Not the best blasters but not terrible either.
@@GirlDad_cards I was pretty surprised at the value of some of these. It’s nice to be early to market with singles. The Gibbs will probably be a PC Card for life!

I love the Gibbs, so you’re right. Definitely a good trade no matter what. It’s definitely nice that the value actually does matchup too. That was hard to find there last weekend.
Club level seems too easy to pull. Would like to see it be a little more rare and more valuable. Thanks for sharing!
@@FFMCardsandMore I agree. I’m not the biggest fan of Select retail in general. I wonder if they’ll go horizontal with the field levels again this year. The club
Levels definitely feel like a field level and I think they were courtside in NBA select.
Nice National pick ups! I have wanted to go the last few years but never make it out there. I missed when the select blasters went on sale and now i am kinda glad i did cause i do not like the way those die cuts look.
They look so weird this year right? Good news is they are selling high, so I guess some people like them. Those Brock die cuts both have bids of $21 and $9 which I would have never expected when I pulled them. It’s silly how much it pays to be first to market with singles.

Decent boxes. I’m not a big fan of die cuts, although with the right player, I could like one or two…🤦♂️😅🤙
@@svvintage I feel the same way about the die cuts. They’re even weirder this year. Not sure about the design, but I would take a CJ on one of them. I got a couple of hangers coming of this as well, but that may be about all I do for Select.

You know, every year at least since covid, people have complained about dealers at National over pricing cards and not willing to deal at all. Odd, isn't it?
Isn't that the point or are there just sooooo many newb invaders they know someone that knows nothing will come along at some point and be willing to pay their prices?
Seems like before that there was a lot more wheeling & dealing.
Also, I was a bit discusted to see dealers getting deals and holding back large quantities of cards for "certain" influencers. Just not right IMHO.
@@srjwildcat3589 I’m never really too big of a fan of select. The die cuts just don’t do it for me, and they look kind of silly this year. I was definitely surprised when I looked up comps on some of this stuff though. I definitely did better than I thought.
I think vendors will have to adjust because most told me they had a big inventory as people were not biting on their inflated prices. The best way to get deals done was talking to others attending. Local shows are a lot better as far as buying is concerned, but you can’t compared to the grandiose scale of the National as an overall experience. I’ll definitely be back.

If I can get it for retail and without effort, I will get (2). I don't care for Select after past few years of the same lame design. I can't stand the base card, it looks so bland. I liked your GIBBS pickup though!
@@ScaryTerryCards I kind of agree with you on Select. Barely in my top five as far as retail products go. I’m absolutely in Love with that Gibbs!
