I really wished Todd never retired....he was such a refreshing force of a talent, but being in the industry myself, i can completely understand why ! Thanks for highlighting him ❣
I could listen to Todd Oldham talk about his designs and relationships with others for hours -- it's such a blessing to be able to hear him contextualize these very complex patchwork garments and reminisce about the titanic force of André.
love that Todd carried a print for 20 years until he found the perfect project for it 🥰 a true artist! also really beautiful the way he speaks about André❤🖤💚
TODD!!!!!!!!!!! He looked just like he did in that snapshot around the 1:29 mark when he used to come to the restaurant where I worked in Dallas. A very nice guy and very generous tipper. I did not know him well, but when I approached him about a donation for the Texas AIDS Ride in 2000, he gave me $250.00 and autographed the thank you note I sent him and mailed it back to me! (We Love Roger!!) I havent seen him in years, so that grey beard was a shock but he is still obviously the nice and unaffected guy he always was.
❤❤ Awe, it's Todd Oldham! It's so nice to see him again. Loved his prints. I had a few pieces. I was just thinking about him. He used Roshumba a lot. Loved that.
I was so proud back in 1996 when I purchased my one and only Todd Oldham original I still have it Can’t fit my arm into it even but now my daughter can wear it
Wow....what a profound and prophetic statement...."If you're gonna do something no one needs......" In this time of "everyone is a designer" so many people need to understand this!! Todd and I are about the same age, and must have arrived in NYC around the same time. I remember him appearing onto the fashion stage and the buzz. I think I even saw one of his shows at the Puck. Really wish I'd gotten to meet him back then. I have since meandered my way through fashion/theatre and lived in several cities since then...but Todd will always be dear to my memory.
Is he working at the CI? Having a show? I'm visiting NY this week and would love to see that. Last time I went to the CI Giorgio di'Santangelo's lover was the curator and Stefan Houy Towner was the assistant.
This was so moving to me. It brought back my early days in design and the sense of the joy in creating in days past. Todd was such a beacon then and now, he is a wise man and keeper of the flames that burned so brightly. I admit to being fahrklempt, with all the love and respect that causes such feelings. Such a loving, kind heart. It was a different time.
What a charming artist/creator! I appreciate his appreciation of those who helped and supported his creative career. This was a delightful profile. Thank you.
Does anyone remember House of Style on MTV? Todd's tutorial on how to apply foundation, concealer and bronzer on Cindy Crawford is how I learned at age 13. That was when I fell in love with make up. He also showed us how to decorate our dorms/bedrooms on a budget. This man is a gift.
I always liked Todd Oldham's collections and aesthetic. It was great to see the lively colours and designs in contrast to the boring gray grange nineties.
Wonderful!!! The world has finally understanding Todd & his ethos!! Love your glass vessels for lazy boy (of all things!) but please who makes these vessels??? Simply lovely❤👏🏼🙏🏽
It's nice to see you Todd. I've followed fashion for forever so of course i've heard of you. I have often wondered what happened to you and John Bartlett.
I’m not a very fashionable person. But I’ve always kind of watched from afar. When I somewhat unexpectedly became a parent later in life, I was so thrilled to find a Todd Oldham printed diaper changing rollup. The print was so attractive and eye catching It made the unattractive act of having to change a diaper in an airport bathroom something more tolerable
"Do you want me to make you one?" Todd Oldham is a gem.
That was the sweetest part. He was like hmmm something is missing, how can I help
I really wished Todd never retired....he was such a refreshing force of a talent, but being in the industry myself, i can completely understand why ! Thanks for highlighting him ❣
Truly one of the best innovators in fashion.
True
I still go back and watch his runways. They are soooo amazing and fun!
Maybe i'm delusional but I still hold out hope that he'll make a return...
I think he does costume design now, so at least he's working his magic.
The way Todd speaks about Andre is so heart warming ☺
andre was the first - he opened the door for many. he was a beautiful, talented, intelligent soul! He will never be replaced or duplicated!
For us 90's kids / teens who were into fashion, Todd gave life and sensibility and magic and fun! 💖🌈💖
Definitely! He revolutionized 90s fashion! Just Iconic & also kind! Wow!
Agreed!!!
Todd Oldham documentary pleas!
💯💯💯 and a book!
Todd seems like the most pleasant person you could ever meet.
I could listen to Todd Oldham talk about his designs and relationships with others for hours -- it's such a blessing to be able to hear him contextualize these very complex patchwork garments and reminisce about the titanic force of André.
I love patchworking. I'm drawn to colors and patterns and the joy and life it brings to wearable art.
I love anyone that is keeping ALT's legacy alive!
Amen

❤❤ Awe, it's Todd Oldham! It's so nice to see him again. Loved his prints. I had a few pieces. I was just thinking about him. He used Roshumba a lot. Loved that.
I bought a shirt of him from 1987 in Dallas and I wore that shirt and kept with me for nearly 20 years. Middle age finally caught up with me. 😅
I remember when he lived in the white art deco house on Gaston.
what a treasure you are Todd. such beautiful energy, always.
I watched every second of MTV during the late 80's and 90's and I feel like Todd was just another VJ because he was always on.
Same!! He & Cindy made magic! 🪄
YES! TY for the reminder....😄
Todd Oldham! Oh, how I have missed him. He seems like the nicest, most genuine person ever!

I still have it
Can’t fit my arm into it even but now my daughter can wear it
Lucky you! Regrettably, I no longer have my favorite, vivid Todd Oldham top. His style was for the truly adventurous.🤠
Wow....what a profound and prophetic statement...."If you're gonna do something no one needs......" In this time of "everyone is a designer" so many people need to understand this!!

I’ve always felt like Todd Oldham was magic. I adore him.
This is a lovely glimpse into the mind of an artist and his respect for a dear friend.
Todd Oldham has always been one of my FAV designers. He is so creative & unique. This vid confirms his exquisite eye & pure talent!

New York and fashion in the 80's and 90's was heaven 🌹

Todd is a precious soul. There is no one else like him since. I wish him a great revival. The model's designer of choice of the time, I believe
I still have a design magazine with Todd's country home.
What a dear heart! Bring me to tears. 🥹🩷
Tod Oldham always brings a smile to my face. Was first introduced to him in the 90s through MTV's House of Style. 🥰
Awesome segment, Thank You for this!❤✨🎉
What a humble, sweet man❤
He was one my favourite designers and loved watching his shows
Todd notices the missing belt and volunteers to remake one.
not very familiar with Todd Oldham's work but by what I see here I adore it and the heartfelt thoughtfulness in his designs is very inspiring.
Check out his old runway shows! Mind blowing
Will do, thanks @WowJustWow37 😊👍

Thank you - I needed to see something that expresses true creativity and skill today.
Great
I saw him often while walking my dogs in Chelsea….very talented in the 90’s and forever
Such a creative, kind, beautiful human 💛
Charming man.

Wow, I still have several scarves and sweaters from Koos Van Den Akker who did wonderful patchwork.
Those robes have left me speechless. Incredible.

He's so delightful and dear.
I was just looking at mt TODD OLDHAM collection - some is when he wasn't famous and had his name on another company early 80s
I remember when he played an episode of the Nanny Season 3 Episode 15.
Todd! We miss you and you’re so handsome!
Astonishingly beautiful!
Today Oldham is a visionary of design. That workroom is AMAZING.
I think that's a workroom at The Met, not Oldham's workroom.
loved this
He's still so delightful!
Wonderful!!! The world has finally understanding Todd & his ethos!! Love your glass vessels for lazy boy (of all things!) but please who makes these vessels??? Simply lovely❤👏🏼🙏🏽
