I am about to leave my 9-5 at the beginning of the year, and this video was a mental grounding. I am still hyped for the change, but I now understand that I have yet to pursue these essential mindshifts completely. Thanks!

First of all, that’s fantastic news, following your dreams! It’s certainly not easy but it’s exciting and rewarding and I can only say that I wish you the best for the journey! Please do reach out if and when you need it. We’re slowly building a lovely community here and I know that the journey of change can be lonely at times, especially when we go against the tide. Surrounding yourself with likeminded individuals helps a lot.

Thanks for the insightful video Kai. I left my 8-5 in 2014 but I'm still adjusting to the change. A lot has happened since then including a severe stroke that my dad suffered in 2018 that forced me back from Eastern Europe to California. If anything I've come to appreciate the value of family since then and as time goes on I want to keep supporting my family while starting my own. I lived the freelance, bachelor, 'Euro jaunt' lifestyle for half a decade, but I reached its limits. Now its time to pass on the lessons I've learned to others and most of all to be the best man I can be for my own small little constellation of family members, girlfriend and friends.

Thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like you’ve been on a profound journey, and it’s powerful how your focus has shifted from the freelance, ‘Euro jaunt’ lifestyle to deeper connections with family and loved ones. Life’s challenges, like your dad’s stroke, often bring clarity to what really matters.
I’d love to hear more about how you’re navigating this change. What’s been the toughest part of the adjustment for you? And what lessons are you finding most valuable as you redefine success for yourself and those close to you?
Appreciate your insights-thanks for being part of this community.

Excellent video with excellent points. 💯 agree. As someone who left her 9 to 5 executive role to pursue other dreams and approaches - all of these ring true!

Thanks for the video, but the thought that I cannot get out of my mind is - oh my god, that's Rutger Hauer 😅

Thank you I guess! 🤣 ... well, I had to check and apparently he passed away in 2019. So I concluded it may not be me 🤷🏻‍♂️
