The worst in how it's spilled over in baby clothes. Babies like bright and vibrant clothes, but you wouldn't know it when you shop for baby clothes. People are worried their babies will get sick if they come close to a primary colour or something...

I get how neutrals are calming to look at but a fully beige or grey house/room looks so depressing to me idk. I just need some color and vibrancy, some life

Oh totally… even my apartment has white walls and I feel like I’m in a mental asylum sometimes hahaha. Thankfully at least my clothes are colourful 💅
      Thank you for watching! 🥰

yes! over the years I've collected all of my furniture, drapes, etc in neutrals because my style is so eclectic and I worried that I will get tired of the more vibrant items. I'm starting to have like this adverse reaction and rebellion in me that's screaming for color lol After all, paint needs keep-up and will need to be redone anyway, and why couldn't I just keep some things in storage and swap them out when it gets old, swap them again when it feels fresh?

It should be a backdrop so the things that you love pop imo

I blame instagram. It started there before ticktock was a thing. Everything was "white and calming" and "minimalist". Hinestly I hate it with an undying passion.

As someone from india when I moved abroad I wanted to fit in the trend so much and adopted the neutral palette in my jewellery, clothes, room etc, it’s just so sad when everything in my country is based on being colourful and bright, just now I have started to appreciate my culture instead of being influenced by the idea of Scandinavian minimalism that’s trendy

Austrian here; the biggest problem with the "sad beige baby" aesthetic is that these babies will grow up being unable to actually SEE colours properly. Parents be making artificially colourblind people because of an ~aesthetic~. I hope these kids will sue their parents once they're of age.
Also, you can actually promote gender neutrality by using LITERALLY ANY BRIGHT COLOUR. Like, use bright Yellow, or Green, or Orange, or ALL the colours. I mean, the absence of pink or light blue isn't going to promote gender neutrality to a kid if the parents aren't ACTIVELY telling them "your gender doesn't matter, if you like X, then you like X" and "Just because you're a girl/boy, doesn't mean you can't do Y when you become an adult".
I also HATE when people use word incorrectly, it drives me nuts. "aesthetic" is NOT a bloody adjective, and it shouldn't be misused as such. If someone uses a word incorrectly, it only tells me that this person doesn't know jack shit and has no idea what it actually MEANS.

Watching from germany, where aesthetic ( ästhetisch) is also an adjective basically meaning beautiful. As a person with ADHD who is artsy, loves color and changes color preferences every year, there is merit to buying stuff in neutrals so that it goes with everything/ accent colors. Overwhelm is very real and soft neutrals help. There is nothing stopping me from displaying objects of different colors though, especially since a beige background makes them pop even more.

It’s about balance, I feel neutrals with color can be very aesthetically pleasing and calming.
The worst part is it takes a style that can be loved by everyone (the Scandinavian crisp, minimalist) and makes it sad instead of comforting

I never knew Aussies pronounced it as "ass-thetic" rather than actually making the /æ/ sound and now I can't unhear it.

This yellow jacket is everything Fauxhad! Also, I just get annoyed when I see the word aesthetic, it's used so much I don't even register the meaning of it anymore.

Doing taxes is not an attractive task, making it an aesthetic content gives motivation to do them. This is how it works.

With a lot of these trends, they are cool but they are also promoting overconsumption. Like if you need an excess of things i. e. diabetes medication, that makes sense. But for things such as beauty products, clothes, etc. Then it becomes a problem imo.

I think people want to look ‘rich a be well off’ and beige does that or people

good points - im just confused why some people have a fetish for beige. to me, beige is white clothing / paint, lights etc, that's stained from piss or sweat or age. it's yucky, bland, dirty, lifeless, meaningless
where would people get a positive connection to beige? maybe brits like the depressing drab dull cloudy beige-like-colour of where they live?
edit, oh also, beige=old. any old persons home has those white cloths on their table with intricate details, and beige everywhere. beige is so elderly and colourless. so lifeless. so lame.

Color is genderless, the beige aesthetic just lets the pink=girls/blue=boys people win.

    • @Stettafire
      @Stettafire ปีที่แล้ว +1

Agreed. The only way to win is to dress girls in blue and boys in pink. I'm a grown ass adult and I haven't worn pink (I hate pink) since I was a kid. Blue is so pretty so my entire wardrobe is blues and autumnal shades but burnt orange and reds. People shouldn't be afriad of colour.
