Zuma, ANC saga: Andile Mngxitama

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 6 ม.ค. 2024
  • Black First Land First President Andile Mngxitama says former President Jacob Zuma has seen himself involved in what he calls a "parallel power praxis". In an opinion piece, Mngxitama asserts that the former ANC leader has set out to right what he perceives as some of the ANC's wrongs outside of the party because of what Mngxitama says is the capture of some of the state organs by external forces. Mngxitama joins for more on this.

We do understand but at the same time it can be a tribal gain… so where does it leave other tribes… remember what happened in the east rand & Vaal during apartheid… so I’m scared of this “MK party” … why didn’t Zuma do all this during his time? Why now? & more so he shouldn’t worry much about Ramaphosa as elections are underway… does it mean MK party wants to take the state by bullying / coup or what?

    Tshepiso is just shining...
Andile is truly special, but unfortunately, he's a treasure that settler colonial powers consistently resist bringing into the mainstream. The current moment we're witnessing is genuinely valuable. The decision by Black media to publish Mgxitama's piece is of immense significance. Andile being given a platform by the SABC to express his rebellious philosophical ideas (Mabogo More) carries weight.
I've always believed that delving into the political contradictions surrounding Mr. Zuma requires careful study, a task that only Black intellectuals can authentically undertake. While Andile's analysis is useful, his analyses of Zuma's actions often lack strong criticism. It's crucial to subject Zuma to critique as well. Notwithstanding: For anyone engaged in the study of politics, he (Zuma) serves as a noteworthy figure to base lectures on Political Leadership at a global level. Zuma's politics should be part of any politics course.
I've always thought that the Gupta move wasn't simply a corrupt endeavour. It was. But I believe it was more than that. Here is a Black man attempting to shift economic control from the big-time controllers (Settlers) to a group of 'foreigners.' When you seriously consider the dynamics of settler colonialism and the need to 'decolonize' such a context, you must think about race.
Zuma was the first ANC president to see the South African economy as deeply racial, what is called in literature: Racial Capitalism. All prior presidents refused to assert this fact. Mbeki, for instance, doesn't even use that term. But this is the reality of the SA economy. Zuma's Gupta move still needs to be studied, and I repeat: an honest Black intellectual is yet to undertake this scholarly journey, and Andile is giving us the pointers.
However, a well-rounded analysis is crucial; we must not shy away from highlighting his genuine flaws as they form an integral part of the overarching contradictions. We must also name the effects of Zuma's moves on the lived experiences of ordinary people. We must say that Zuma's potentially revolutionary move took for granted the power of racial capitalism, a key constituent of capitalism. This move made life more difficult for Black people who are at the receiving end of the wrath of racial capitalism when threatened. It was during Zuma's time that the standard of living for Black people became too difficult to bear.
The amount of corruption from unscrupulous 'comrades' who saw his administration as an opportunity to make a quick buck turned Zuma's vision into a mystic one, making people sceptical. The media, of course, helped pump this negative narrative of Zuma that refused to provide any theoretical significance for his political moves.
We must also ask questions about the allegations of the quick rise to economic power of his son, including other family members such as Khulubuse. When reflecting on the above, we must be in a position to say that Zuma also contributed to the mess that we find ourselves in. Perhaps agents of racial capitalism before him, such as Mbeki and Mandela, played the game so well that the racial capitalism of SA felt confident to remain in the country. Zuma's moves, though radical, did, in fact, downplay the power of racial capitalism.
I love you Andile. Thanks to Tshepiso for a great moment of television.

It’s the truth but problem is that the ANC is messed up, Zuma is part of the mess in the ANC because he is playing a factional game. ANC factions are hindering progress in this country, he should have rather quit wholeheartedly

There was no way president would allow anc failures to use he's name to justify their failure. Which ANC brought to itself by allowing media lies and narrative that JZ is corrupt. Hostile media used nkandla matter and state capture which were never been found to be true. No evidence of Zuma looting and stealing money. Not even one tender given to Guptas that was influence by Zuma.

@@sihletngcobo Mngxitama is not coming back to politics greater than what he was in the EFF. It will never happen. He was given a chance to sit with one of the best young polical leaders democratic dispensation has ever produced and he thought if he by then spoke nice English. He is better than everyone. He then decided to be ungovernable. They lied to him and it cost him and his kids a future that he will only dream off. It's super sad. Today he is out of the game giving analysis to things he was supposed to compete on. You dnt understand how deep this man cursed himself. EFF is about to enter a pivotal exponential growth curve never seen in the politics of SA.
