Ok... Been a gardener for 60 years but never propagated grape vines... I cut a bunch of vines, cut as instructed below and above nodes, soaked in water for 12 hours to hydrate, then into potting soil and watered... Most of my vines are wooded and a darker color. Another grape propagating guru told me to just cut the "ends of the top vines" which are more redish in color. When cut, they have a slight appearance green with a tiny hole in center. He said you should be able to "squeeze" the end of the cutting giving you a much better chance of rooting... Please comment on this as I really appreciate your video's on propagating...
I just wanted to ask a few questions if you don't mind. So you start them in the bed, leave them over winter, then put them in the big pots all combined for how long? Then separate and put in a their own pot? Thanks in advance.

Connie Urbina honey and even cinnamon powder work, some people use both if you don't have traditional rooting agent. Mike will probably tell you you could just do without rooting agent

I need advice, I started out trying crepe myrtle cuttings, it’s December and I had them inside to long, their trying to sprout or leaf. Do I need to pull those new leaves off or just move them to where it’s colder to sit?

if you stick them in mid June, by late July, they should be rooted. Pot them in 1 gal containers and leave in shade with only a couple hours of sun a day for the 1st few days. By then, they will let you know who the winners and losers are. Get rid of the losers and put the winners into what ever sun is intended for the specific plant, then sell them the following year!
Mike I thought you grow your cuttings in sand but when you pulled them out of container towards the end of the video it looked like they were in soil ? Another questions is how have you rooted those cuttings in open field ? Don't they need humidity dome initially ?

I know you have suggested to use osmocote 14-14-14 in a video. But you were using something else, and never said what it was. I found Lesco 14-14-14, and it’s a polymer capsule 3-4 month release but says not to use in containers. Why? Anyone know why you can’t this for container growing? Seems to be the same thing. Thanks
I'm not sure if you are joking, or what, cause those are just weeds around here. But if you really wanna spread that stuff, try cutting it in half or even quarters when dormant or early vegetative stage. Just my best guess, google it my friend.

Willy I usually find it best to put them in a shaded area to give the roots time to recover from transplant shock. It's hard to say for how long but I would leave them for at least a week. And make sure you keep them watered. You don't want them to completely dry out during this time. Hope that helps.

instead of putting cuttings in potting soild, what about a pot of sand. You use sand for beds. will it work fo your cuttings too?

pinjarela as far as I know it's any sand except beach sand (too salty) but coarse sand is better than fine play ground one
Always sharp sand. Never play sand or builders sand. If it's fine it makes a right mess of the cuttings and the leaves get all sunken into it.
Does mike use a greenhouse for any of his propagation? I assumes that was the only way to propagate...

How old is it? You might try cutting it back by 1/3 or so and giving it bloom fertilizer a few times a year.
