Been going through your cuttings videos....just had an idea for you. Attach a thin piece aluminum or plastic to the edge of you 2x4 spacer, so that it sticks down a couple inches along the whole length. Then when you press it into the sand, it makes the spacing and digs the trench at the same time...saves you 30 seconds on each row.
Me too!! I completely agree, Mike is the best teacher! I've learned so much about taking cuttings & getting new plants just from cutting back my own shrubs, something I have to do anyway!! THANK YOU MIKE!!!!
Great info once again! Thank you so much! I'm curious, though, why it's better to have the rooted cuttings heeled in a pot instead of just leaving them in the sand they grew in. I'm guessing because it disturbs their roots less? Thanks again!

I see this space is getting a fair amount of sun and wind. I don't see any shade or frames? Do you protect them with shade after they're stuck? Plastic over winter? My growing space is wide out in the open, very hot when June comes and smack dab in the middle of a wind tunnel. Been having less luck as the years go by trying to protect my cuttings. Maybe I'm trying too hard.
Your channels was recommended by a new acquaintance. I have watched a few of your videos , they are great so far. :). What type of sand are you using in your beds.

joelyboyblue pots work well but need to be placed into a cold frame to keep from drying out over winter. Things tend to over winter much much better in sand beds rather than in pots.

Great video, enjoyed seeing the rooting beds, do you provide any shading or poly cover over the cuttings? How often do you mist?
