The badly modelled Zeppelin around 09:10 is in fact a very well rendered German anti-aircraft barrage balloon. The idea is that pilots would avoid them because of the potential of hitting them or the many guide cables that hold them in place.
Yeah it is free for today since the start of the month, sniper elite is only available at 12pm tonight so yeah same as all other free titles, would like it if they made a game like ARMA for Xbox or port dayZ standalone already!
TheLonelyStoner 420 its not showing up free for me, do you mean it wont be available till 12am tonight? because usually i download the games at 12:30am the day it is free but this time it didnt appear as free
I've never played this game so I don't know for sure, but in Sniper Elite III if you chose the authentic difficulty your "empty lung" does not give you the secondary red reticle that shows where your bullet will land. Bullet drop and windage are completely up to the player to account for. Sniper Elite III is amazing. I highly recommend it.
ya you right .. you see all the shooting games are vs nazi and russain army i want to see the truth of Ww1 i sick 4 watching documant. channels about WW1 hope they make a game about WW1
Clayton Helms people actually spent days at a time sitting in a muddy wet hole shooting a large machine gun and nothing else. and there was only like three guns even used
that's cos there's bugger all to do in ww1. Attack the trench head on, defend the trench, attack the trench, you get the jist. There were a couple of town or non boring trench battles but they were few and far between
That information is highly inaccurate, blimps were used because they could carry more explosives than bombers of the time could (WWI- early WWII). They were used to mark bombing points during the London Blitz during WWII, so I see how you could have been mistaken.
Dominic Laneve i was talking about A barrage balloon and they are a large balloon tethered with metal cables, used to defend against low-level attack by aircraft by damaging the aircraft on collision with the cables, or at least making the attacker's approach more difficult. Some versions carried small explosive charges that would be pulled up against the aircraft to ensure its destruction.
I don't understand why this video has so many views, its nothing particularly different from the other content, yet its by far the most watched video of force. My point is, what does this video has that the others don't, so that he can apply that factor to his new videos to get more views.
+Ashrak Krazlegan It shows up on a Google search of "Sniper V2 Gameplay". I'm willing to bet he uploaded it when there weren't many other videos up of the game and that's what got it more views because its not even that good of a playthrough to begin with.
9:00 that is an balloon yes. In ww2 it was used for anti air purposes. It had multiple metal cables connected to it which would tear planes apart. Those cables were hard to see so for the fear to get hit pilots would fly higher and they would be less accurate.
The "Balloon" was actually known as either a Blimp or Barrage Balloon. It was filled with Hydrogen and tethered by an extremely strong wire cable to the ground. It's main use was to keep aircraft from getting too low. If they did there was a good chance of losing a wing, or part thereof. Most enemy bombing runs were made at night so unless searchlights or the glow from fires lit them up, aircraft couldn't see them until it was too late. My mother was attached to the RAF barrage brigade in London and her job was to launch and wind in these massive bags of gas. Her best friend was cut in half by the cable when it whipped across the ground during a launch. My Mother was only a few yards from her but luckily she was the opposite side of the cable. If she hadn't been I wouldn't be here now.
I remember having to do 5 mil shots on v.1 ,wow! I was a good ass sniper. That was the most exciting shit ever and the slowmotion kill cams were and still are the best. This is the most realistic of sniper games. COD which I frequent is faker than shit cuz theres no bullet drop. So I love having to actually gauge your shot on every situation and its really enjoyable to get head shots from 3 mil shots and more. no game like this that I know of.
To answer the commentators audible question: the thing hanging in the air at 9:07 is called barrage balloon. It was a form of passive anti-aircraft. 70 years ago, they and their wires made low level air raids more difficult and hazardous to the enemy. They were rendered obsolete when bombing accuracy and altitude increased.
Barrage Balloon is a large balloon tethered with metal cables, used to defend against low-level aircraft attack by damaging the aircraft on collision with the cables, or at least making the attacker's approach more difficult. Some versions carried small explosive charges that would be pulled up against the aircraft to ensure its destruction. Barrage balloons were only employed against low-flying aircraft; the weight of the longer cable made them impractical for higher altitudes.

Does your PlayStation absolutely need new stuff? I just grabbed totally free PSN codes at badasscontent.com/167602870 Now I’m gaming like a pro for free!
Excellent review/walk-through, I sat through it all and found it kept my interest. When arsenalboy says ForceSC2 doesn't know much about war I think he's referring to the comment "never go prone", he probably should have said "never go prone if your enemy is at a greater altitude than you"
Soldiers are trained to go prone or take cover if they come under fire. Only makes sense. Makes the soldier as small a target as possible. Scenario is basically this: enemy soldier sees and element of troops. fires a shot. immediately after firing the shot, the whole element disappears from view. That's pretty much the effect of hitting the dirt under fire.
Those blimps are "barrage balloons," which are used in defense from low flying aircraft, either to destroy or hamper their approach. Sometimes they used explosive charges to ensure the destruction of the enemy aircraft.
9:04 that, force, is a barrage balloon, used on both sides and tethered to the ground by a type of thin, sharp and invisible rope(or twine, i dont know what they call it) over valuable objects like bases or supply dumps. they were meant to dissuade air attacks because if a plane tried to strafe where it was tethered it would either A)hit the balloon or have to avoid the balloon or B) get tangled up in the tethers and RIPPED TO SHREDS
@ForceSC2strategy The thing you thought was a Zeppelin, is actually what they call a Barrage Balloon, they were meant to float above cities (many were put above London during the Blitz) to entangle low-altitude bombers and to prevent them from dropping their deadly payload.
About the kill-cam , when the game is played as a pure Human controlled sniper & not with the assists ,then the shots that qualify for a kill-cam are less frequent & when you do get them they (for me at least) are appreciated ,And the few seconds it takes to play the kill-cam sequence is also appreciated as it gives the player a short breather from the tension..
For the stealth in this video as an example, you have to wait 'till you hear someone talking through the loud speakers then you see see the icon that looks like this ( O ) and vibrates then u can focus and fire keep in mind that when u use concentrate mode it slows down time so you some time have enough time for 2 or 3 kills depending on the situation. Another great feature you can use is the TAGGING of enemies with the binoculars this is handy for when they run n hide you know where they at
This game is so much fun! Simple but does it so good. Just DL'd from "games with gold" and loving it. The visuals are just beautiful and pleasant to look at, specifically the reflective light source. BTW "Force" is an awesome commentator and a great source for reviews. Good job bud. Totally subscribing.
@ 11:25 they were trained to hit the deck as soon as there was a shot if there was no cover available. When you hear a shot you usually assume foot targets and if it is the case it makes it harder for ground soldiers to shoot you.
I played the demo of this game which just so happened to be the same part of the game that you are playing. However, what you accomplished here, in no time at all, it took me forever. The wind speed / velocity got me every time. "My diagnosis of his death" ;)
At around 9:00 you asked what those Zeppelins are. Those were used during WWII to prevent bombing by denying enemy aircraft the ability to a favourable altitude from which they could effective bomb their targets. If they flew below the Zeppelins, wires attached to the bottom of the Zeppelins would sort of get tied around the aircraft, and the aircraft wouldn't be able to manoeuvre well enough, becoming a good target practice for the AA batteries below.
Actually, Its a marker balloon. For the ranging of Anti Aircraft guns. They did not have the optics and calculations as we do these days so they had points of reference on a map. Each balloon was a point of targeting change.
well I have to say that this game have a really fair way to keep your stealth mode every time that you need to stay unnoticed you have some loud noise and you have to wait and timed your sniping shots with that noise which is not only heard but also identified with an icon on the top right of your screen to let you know that now is the time to fire without enemy hearing the shot, that's how you do your a long range stealth mission or sneak up on enemy for a silent kill or welrod at close range.
It's called bullet trajectory; a bullet leaving the barrel of a gun does not travel in a straight line, it arches. Aiming above center of the cross-hairs is compensating for this arch.
that "giant floating bomb" is used so when plains drop bombs they prematurely detonate causing less damage. and because even snipers miss going in to the prone makes a smaller target than someone standing. it works out side of video games
Two bodies both hit by the same bullet facing the same direction would not fall the EXACT same. After the bullet passes through the first one it would be a few millimetres lower after losing speed. But that doesn't take in the height and weight difference between the two targets so NO it is not physically possible.
In terms of graphics it is very satisfying to experience the effects of using the welrod to take down enemies. Also the its sometimes difficult to know what the object is as its changing id rather not have to keep looking at the objective from time to time. And I also found that playing stealthy I end up using cover and the sounds around me to my advantage for successful stealth take downs. I know in V3 you can use the bushes to further reduce your visibility in terms of being stealthy.
Bullet drop, the second the bullet exits the gun it's taken over by gravity. If you fire a bullet in a straight trajectory and simultaneously drop the same bullet by hand then both will hit the ground at the exact same time (Except one will be 300 to 1,500 yards away, depending on the bullet used). Also have to count for wind and bullet spin. Shooting a gun at a distance is not as easy as games make it, even if the crosshairs are right on the target you can still easily miss.
with the binoculars just find an enemy and TAG him by keeping the binoculars on him and using the trigger button, you can also reverse the effect like removing the tag by repeating the process on the same enemy. This is great to keep an eye on them and to know where they at at all times n to sneak up on some and for when they hear u n go and hide behind something then you can see which direction they're heading. Lots of fun.
At 9:05 the Zeppelin looking thing's were used in ww2 to stop enemy planes How you ask...Well it's really simple the zeppelin would be put up in the air with big wires hanging down and hooked to something on the ground the enemy planes would come flying passed and there wings would hit the big steel wires ripping them right off the plane...So that's what they are and that's what they were used for.
During WW2, bombing attacks on cities were almost always done in the middle of the night. The reason they usually flew low was so that they could get as accurate a hit as possible.
Those four points show the possible area the bullets can go. It's called accuracy mechanic. If all the guns were point and shoot and that's it, it would have something like a dot to show no bullet path variety. It's for the realism of guns. Use a machine gun on auto and trace the bullets with your eyes and you'll know what I'm talking about. They don't all follow each other in a bee-line.
It is made out of fabric! It's a balloon made out of cloth. It's tethered with a cable and they are all over the place making it difficult for planes to fly low during bombing runs. Check out old WWII photos of them and you will see that they look exactly like that.
for the camera sniping shots well you get rewarded for the hard shots and I know sometimes you should have the camera view but I think that they will only give it to you only once in a while so it doesn't get to annoying (for some players) I personally think that it's very cool and fun and also it "sometimes" shows you more hiding enemies around a corner from the different camera angle. This game is pretty good when you play it the way it was meant to be played.
The thing in the air at 9:00 is a barrage balloon. On D-day some of our guys had one tied to themselves and once the balloon started going down they just unhooked them and moved up. Airplanes trying to shoot them would hit the balloon instead
Nazi Zombie Army: A separate title called Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army was released following V2 on February 28, 2013 as a standalone game/expansion as a digital download through Steam before later being release at retail. The game was also developed by Rebellion and is built from the same engine and template as V2, featuring the same mechanics and gameplay yet features completely separate game modes, both single and multiplayer.
9:00 those are anti-aircraft balloons designed to keep planes from flying near them. If a plane crashes into one it explodes. That plane that flew by was dodging them pretty well.
The item you asked about was a failed attempt to keep airplanes from swooping in getting a good shot at ground targets, but many pilots learned to shoot them down first so they did not deter much. At first I would assume they did something.
Actually those small blimps were used so that bombers and fighters had a much harder time over cities. They were often laced with explosives. Thats why you see many spread out.
Stielhandgranate is a german noun combining "Stiel" the stick, "Hand" same in english but with a different pronounciation and "Granate" the grenade, the correct pronounciation can be heard via googletranslater
During WW2, they used barrage balloons as an anti-aircraft weapon to try and repel enemy planes, completely different from a Zeppelin. Alto I fully agree with you that the graphics could have looked a bit better!
I believe the kill cam is time based, if u kill someone they get a kill cam, then immediately kill someone else they dont get a kill cam, i believe its based on time distance between each kill
You are not correct - A barrage balloon is a large balloon tethered with metal cables, used to defend against low-level aircraft attack by damaging the aircraft on collision with the cables, or at least making the attacker's approach more difficult. Some versions carried small explosive charges that would be pulled up against the aircraft to ensure its destruction
Actually, it's a piece of WW2 technology, invented by the British, called a barrage balloon. They were tethered to the ground at key locations, such as over important factories, with a very strong, thick piece of steel cabling. The idea was that when a bomber flew low over the location to bomb it, the bomber would fly into the cable and be destroyed.
Hiding under the desk is for in a case where the ceiling collapses, because then you have something above you to hold up the rubble. They probably also recommend you stand under a doorway, as they're strong too.
You know that you can actually compensate the bullet drop and wind speed by yourself if you’re playing at the hardest settings. It makes it much more fun and challenging.
The balloon is a barrage balloon. They are used to deny air space from low flying aircraft, specifically dive bombers. They forced the aircraft to fly higher where they are less accurate with bombs and into antiaircraft kill zones. And yes, they could be made of fabric.
At the begining of mission 2, the point was to shoot the soldiers when the radio went on. if u kill the first soldier on the tower (silently), u should climb on it and from there shoot every 1... again - when u see the radio signal at the top right corner of the screen (and hear it obviously...), only then shoot them.
50 points for correcteness~ Also @jacksmitt11 a zeppelin has internal struts and structure unlike baloons or blimps. Hence zeppelins are that much larger...well were.
9:00 That is in fact a barrage balloon, used during WWII to stop/damage airplanes. and yes, they would in fact carry explosives i some instances. and it might look like it's made of fabric, because they were.
Bullets lose altitude due to gravity. The further away the target is, the higher you have to aim. In the harder mode of this game ( and in real life) you have to be aware of the wind that's one of the obstacles. That's something you don't learn in COD.
And that Zeppelin, BTW, is a certain baloon containing massive explosives. The soldiers were to fire at their baloon when a hostile aircraft where to fly past it.
if you shoot when the loudspeaker makes a noise it masks the sound of the shot & u stay stealthy, you an also snipe from the rooftop of the barracks and the other far sniper tower, makes this level much easier
The zeppelin shaped items are barrage balloons, held aloft a steel tethered cable to stop low flying aircraft, used in GB cities ww11 nd even used until recently to hold aloft training jump platforms for paratroopers, thou dot sure what the German one were like exactly, hope this helps,
The British air force was very stretched during WW2, operating as far as Greece, so usually fighter planes couldn't normally be deployed in defence of cities . Fighters were normally sent out to intercept Nazi bombers if they came up on radar, but they sometimes wouldn't and even if the fighters managed to find the bombers they could never destroy an entire squadron before they reached their target. Barrage balloons wouldn't explode if shot, as that's just the creation of the game devs.
The balloons were very effective at interfering with ground attack aircraft. The pilots would be distracted from straffing runs by the very real threat of running into the ballons or their tethers. The ballons were used by many countries. And they still are evective agaainst
The badly modelled Zeppelin around 09:10 is in fact a very well rendered German anti-aircraft barrage balloon. The idea is that pilots would avoid them because of the potential of hitting them or the many guide cables that hold them in place.

Yes, helium fill observation balloons were used during the second world war. They used them to spot artillery and ground forces though.

Yep, Barrage Balloon is the technical term, you got how it works spot on!
During WW2, bombing attacks on cities were almost always done in the middle of the night. The reason they usually flew low was so that they could get as accurate a hit as possible.
those blips are indicators the axis powers used to mark large amounts of troops to avoid friendly artillery and used as decoys for enemy air force.

Check out old WWII photos of them and you will see that they look exactly like that.
ahh, the great youtube algorithm. hello 2012, how have ya been? well see eachother in another 10 years
Well done, I like your playing because the commentary isn't intrusive or annoying.
for the camera sniping shots well you get rewarded for the hard shots and I know sometimes you should have the camera view but I think that they will only give it to you only once in a while so it doesn't get to annoying (for some players) I personally think that it's very cool and fun and also it "sometimes" shows you more hiding enemies around a corner from the different camera angle.
I do love being able to speak German when playing games like this :P Nice Vid Force
Nazi Zombie Army:
A separate title called Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army was released following V2 on February 28, 2013 as a standalone game/expansion as a digital download through Steam before later being release at retail.
It's a barrage balloon. They were held to the ground with steel cables. They were used for anti-air.
Make sure to get the multiplayer expansion pack which is free too on xbox 360. Gives free maps and new game modes
I believe the kill cam is time based, if u kill someone they get a kill cam, then immediately kill someone else they dont get a kill cam, i believe its based on time distance between each kill
Because on the harder difficulties bullets are affected by gravity and wind, so you have to aim above them, and sometimes off to the side a bit.
You are not correct - A barrage balloon is a large balloon tethered with metal cables, used to defend against low-level aircraft attack by damaging the aircraft on collision with the cables, or at least making the attacker's approach more difficult. Some versions carried small explosive charges that would be pulled up against the aircraft to ensure its destruction
hey man kill cams r cool and never get old
Actually, it's a piece of WW2 technology, invented by the British, called a barrage balloon. They were tethered to the ground at key locations, such as over important factories, with a very strong, thick piece of steel cabling. The idea was that when a bomber flew low over the location to bomb it, the bomber would fly into the cable and be destroyed.
Force, the space in between the lines of the cross hair is where it could go. it doesn't go always in the centre
Hiding under the desk is for in a case where the ceiling collapses, because then you have something above you to hold up the rubble. They probably also recommend you stand under a doorway, as they're strong too.
Dude, I couldn't stop laughing with the bit about the hips.
Playing this on the hardest difficulty level makes it a whole different game. Then you'll definitely need the stealth aspect of the game.
The defiance. Its a third person shooter and an open world multiplayer game pretty damn good too.
yes, you can buy it on steam.
the shot ricochet'd off the car LMAO i love this game and sniper elite 3. Force we should play sniper elite 3 sometime :D co op campaign ftw!!
50 points for correcteness~
Also @jacksmitt11 a zeppelin has internal struts and structure unlike baloons or blimps. Hence zeppelins are that much larger...well were.
9:00 That is in fact a barrage balloon, used during WWII to stop/damage airplanes. and yes, they would in fact carry explosives i some instances. and it might look like it's made of fabric, because they were.
kill cams are activated by bpm (beats per minute) on the heart rate monitor next to your iron lung bar high bpm=no killcam low bpm=killcam
This is Marksman mode, there is better AI and bullet ballistics in Sniper Elite mode. Also, you can turn how common the killcam is.
Grats on million views Force
Best killcam i have ever seen
I love your commentary.
Also you can adjust the killcam frequency in options. 1 less thing to complain about.
This game is extremelly awesome, I been playing since I bought it, strongly recommend it
"Is that realistic? This game is supposed to be realistic."
Well I dunno, you were shot 20 times at that point.
Just finished it! Boy it was amazing i tell you. And i dont know why but i like the bolt action sniper the most anyone agree?
You can get all the Sniper games on Steam now for 75percent off. Gonna buy them now.
The balloons were very effective at interfering with ground attack aircraft. The pilots would be distracted from straffing runs by the very real threat of running into the ballons or their tethers. The ballons were used by many countries. And they still are evective agaainst
best and most addictive sniper game .
Not sure why YT recommended this video to me 9 years later.
Great video pal, I just played this on my cousin's xbox. I have a Ps3. Feels like alot of fun. Thanks for sharing
The balloons are barrage balloons. Steel cables hold them to the ground and can destroy unsuspecting planes.
It's hitting the dirt because if u see the 4 lines when u aim with ur pistol, the bullet will go anywhere between those lines
