@andrewt248 The amp settings on the DRRI don't generally change within one demo. The volume is usually at 3-4 and bass treble set to give a full clean tone. Pedals like the Lovepedal Kalamazoo or Rockbox Breaking Point are favorites for getting dirty tones. Thanks, -PGS
@kendorobban Yes, this is the same as the G5445T. Gretsch does use a model number system, but the numbers can also denote the color of the guitar as well, which makes it easier to just say "I have a Gretsch G5120 in black" than saying "I have a Gretsch G5125, which is the black G5120."
@GamerConor - We can do 720/1080p with our current setup, but the extended rendering and upload time required means that we'll only be able to do about half as many videos as we do now. Is that cool? We always thought the audio was the important part.... -PGS Video Crew
@MrV1C7OR Most Gretsch models also come in Black, try looking at the Electromatic Pro Jet. Gretschs signature color is Orange. It's because Chet Atkins wanted a guitar that would visually stand out against the Sunburst, Black and Yellow guitars that were being used at the time. So Gretsch made the 6120 a vibrant Orange
I have the Gretsch, It sounds so sweet on the Vox VT20+, both guitars have their own sound so it's up to you, if you have never played a Gretsch, it has it's own sound, so sweet sounding guitar, good luck on your choice.
Hey Andy, you guys should show a shot of the amp settings you're using to get the different clean/breakup//overdrive tones out of the DRRI at different points in the video. That Gretsch sounds amazing with that amp!
I got to play one of these (the newer model gold top with block inlays) yesterday straight into a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 4x10 yesterday, and loved the way it played, wish I'd had my pedalboard with me to really see what I could do with it, though.
@policeinspace Jack use a guitar like this but is completely custom made by Randy Parson, a luthier in Seattle. It has like 3 pickups, an integrated MXR Micro Amp, copper top and other super cool things :)...
TY PGS for always uploading uncompressed audio. Screw the vid quality :) Rockin' demo Andy. Does anyone think these pick-ups need an upgrade? Somethin' seems a little muffy about them.
@ProGuitarShopDemos Well then, you should show a shot or put those specifics in the video description. I've been assuming the dirty tones were the DRRI on 10. Love the demos! Keep 'em comin'!
@MrV1C7OR the reason gretsch guitars are so eccentrically colored is because they started as a drum company and their first guitars used the drum kit finishes resulting in a rather...unique look. i agree they can look a little jarring though lol. some of them (like the firebird powerjet) are gorgeous however.
You can do the TV Jones Filtertron upgrade with this guitar. You HAVE to. I have this exact model and those min-humbuckers it comes with are weak and need to be changed out immediately. It does take a little work to get the filtertrons to fit though...
@ProGuitarShopDemos True, but the audio quality is higher in the HD videos, you should try uploading some samples and test it out quick.. and yeah I hear you HD does take a long time to process
@ProGuitarShopDemos Not true mate, youtube also recompreses the audio and they recompress less to 720p then to 420P. There is no difrence between 1080 ore 720 in audio.
Andy, how much setup work gets done to the guitars you use in your online demos? All your guitars sound very much in tune and the intonation always sounds good. Can you list the steps of what you do to a guitar before a demo? Thanks, TJ
@dww0902 Shouldn't run into any string pop issues on a bigsby if you've taken the time to set your strings well (stretching, divebombing+retuning ect.). Unfortunately heavier gauge strings, a worn spring, and a notchy tune-o-matic bridge will always pull things a bit out of tune. But as Jack White says; "I want it to be a struggle." cause the best music is born from conflict.
@ProGuitarShopDemos Yeah, true but most of the time the audio quality is much better at 720p/1080p. Either way, I'll still love your vids and watch em everyday. :D
What is the amp which is used on this video ? Good video with a really good guitarist and at good time, I'm interesting about this guitar since 2 months, it's a sign ! Thanks for your reviews.
I love this guitar, except for the bigsby. I like the B3C on the duo jet way better. I have one of these bigsby's on the my other guitar, but it just doesn't look right to me on this one. Is it possible to get one of these with the B3C? Thanks!
Does a Bigsby vibrato have the same tuning stability issues as a Strat style vibrato? For example, if a string pops, do all the strings go out of tune?
Is this a G5248t or a G5445t? Is there any difference between these two models?? I would like to know because I really love the sound of THIS very guitar, so that I know the one I will buy. Thanks in advance to the good soul that will answer me :)
besides price how much difference is there in the MIJ or the Korean models? I've been looking at the Black Panther to do some Blues & old School rock on.
Question: My Gretsch G5445T Double Jet has Two Knobs (like the one in the video). However, the majourity of the Double Jets I see have 4 Knobs on then. Does anyone know why this is? i'm assuming it's just the age of the model?
@scrubs21 I guarantee you, is not only the amplifier.this gretsch sounds amazing, I use a VOX Valvetronix VT50 and I got very gretsch sound, very vintage, with my ibanez Ts9dx this guitar I feel almost like one beatle jah! this guitar have a lot of bite and attack, very very percussive sound, and with an overdrive pedal believe me, this monster screams so fucking loud.
AC/DC - Jailbreak! Hell yeah!
I love Gretsch guitars...and this guy's picking style is awesome!

love those thumb inlays. only the dots on the side actually help the player, and I like that classy clean look.

@WoWAdmanGuitaring - Fender DRRi, same as always. Thanks!
-PGS Video Crew
It looks better than on pictures. Wow, great sound!
Yeah the sound is magnificent! I always hated electromatics and now you have made me want one.

this guitar sounds so special, love it
indeed! the video does not matter, it's the sound!
I love their colors lol. Very unique.
PGS - I love your demo's guys keep them up :D
I'm totally getting one.. This is the guitar for me!
@joed424 yupp... Les Pauls are chambered(some at least) and they're considered solid-bodied
man I really dig this guitar.

Rockin' demo Andy. Does anyone think these pick-ups need an upgrade? Somethin' seems a little muffy about them.
Nice one, Andy! Hope to see more Gretsches demo'd on your wonderful page.
@ProGuitarShopDemos Well then, you should show a shot or put those specifics in the video description. I've been assuming the dirty tones were the DRRI on 10. Love the demos! Keep 'em comin'!
Nice guitar, nice amp, nice playing :]
@44eelz the video bitrate on youtube is linked to the audio quality. So, yes, it matters.
Sounds heavenly!!

@YearraeY well, what a relief then that good music isn't a fashion contest. its a tool, treat it like one
@ProGuitarShopDemos The audio IS what's important. I could care less about the video quality; the videos look fine.
Its a stupid question but.
Are there many diferences between the Double jet and the Duo jet ?
NICE PLAYING
G&L Tele, G&L's as a brand are really awesome.
You can do the TV Jones Filtertron upgrade with this guitar. You HAVE to. I have this exact model and those min-humbuckers it comes with are weak and need to be changed out immediately.
It does take a little work to get the filtertrons to fit though...
Guys!! please get some HD cameras and upload in 720p/1080p!!
please do a demo of the Gretsch Electromatic pro jet! i'm getting one tomorrow!
@ProGuitarShopDemos True, but the audio quality is higher in the HD videos, you should try uploading some samples and test it out quick.. and yeah I hear you HD does take a long time to process
@andrewt248 I've seen it mentioned which pedals they are using, usually the Kalamazoo. I think the guitar is the main thing they're focusing on.
@ProGuitarShopDemos Not true mate, youtube also recompreses the audio and they recompress less to 720p then to 420P. There is no difrence between 1080 ore 720 in audio.

New outro music is off the HEEZAY. The Gretsch is nice too ;)
how can you make it sound so good?
godly shtuff

ac/dc!!!! yeah buddy
andy, when you strum you're just holding your thumb and first finger together like you hold a pick right? Your thumb looks double jointed!
@ProGuitarShopDemos The audio will improve! thats why we want hd ;P
I love this guitar, except for the bigsby. I like the B3C on the duo jet way better. I have one of these bigsby's on the my other guitar, but it just doesn't look right to me on this one. Is it possible to get one of these with the B3C?
Thanks!
Killer demo, sound and price! Gear Aquisition Syndrome, here i go!
Andy, do you remember what pedal specifically you used to get that crunch in this video?
Is that the same guitar Malcom Young used but with a different bridge and tailpiece?
my question is why they dont put filtertrons in these electromatics, if they did they would sound so much better
Does a Bigsby vibrato have the same tuning stability issues as a Strat style vibrato?
For example, if a string pops, do all the strings go out of tune?
Can you upgrade this one with a TV JONES Filtertron?.. I mean does it fit in the existing hole?
Is this a G5248t or a G5445t? Is there any difference between these two models?? I would like to know because I really love the sound of THIS very guitar, so that I know the one I will buy.
Thanks in advance to the good soul that will answer me :)
What song is he playing at 2:48? I love how this guitar sounds...
this is great
would be grat to see a review of the new electromatic series, e.g. the gretsch g5435
Is this the G5445T? I'm thinking of buying one but can't find any sound-samples of it. Unless this is the same??
if it only came left handed :p
and a question how long you been playing andy?
would sound good with a heavy fuzz pedal?like the muff?
Is there are name to the song that starts around 2:08 ???
u make a gooood job my homie !!
besides price how much difference is there in the MIJ or the Korean models?
I've been looking at the Black Panther to do some Blues & old School rock on.
Does the black one have sparkles on it??
Im going to have to agree with the PGS video dudes about it being more about the audio :DD
You couldn't give me an electric guitar wither either a set neck or a 12" radius.
if i wanted to put the seymour duncan dynasonics in this, would they fit?
What is the song at 3.30 to and of the video?
What amp are you playing through and are you using any overdrive? Thanks
Please do a 5120 demo :)
This electromatic, fender squier classic vibe 50s or G&L Telecaster ?
@viomartyr Does it sound good in this video? Yup!

What's the song at @3:30?
@TheWyldepanther @erosar10 Creep - Radiohead?
JAAAAAAAAIIIILLLLLBREAKKKK! at the beginning
when keith richards was a kid, he wanted to play rhythm guitar like Andy when he grew up
@scrubs21 I guarantee you, is not only the amplifier.this gretsch sounds amazing, I use a VOX Valvetronix VT50 and I got very gretsch sound, very vintage, with my ibanez Ts9dx this guitar I feel almost like one beatle jah! this guitar have a lot of bite and attack, very very percussive sound, and with an overdrive pedal believe me, this monster screams so fucking loud.
hi :D it's a good instrument?
@GamerConor Jeez who cares how good the picture looks, 360 is more than enough. were becoming so spoiled about this stuff...
how is this affordable? its like 800 bucks
@rockpwnsu check the "Andy's Corner" section in the PGS website, he talks about all this stuff :)
It can actually screw with the sound quality.
@marchenoir44
Thanks for the info. :)
ahh i want one! but my money is for college :'(
