Great interview, it deserves to be on the main channel. If I could tell something, the setup on the coach is not ideal for more than 2 people. I can feel how uncomfortable it was for Jacob.
Im here to make neovim is best comment but i love Supermaven too its good and ai is helpful for coding as well but im not leaving neovim open-source will adapt and overcome the gal in features avante is already here it will only get better also zed wtf are you doing you were meant to be the ai vscode alternative not cursor you know what merger zed plus cursor plus supermaven might just be enough for me try to leave neovim
Oh come on. So Supermaven is as good as dead 1 year from now. No matter what they promise, they'll for sure put all their energy into Cursor, instead JetBrains and VSCode. 1 year from now, they'll be nothing more than a bait product that Cursor uses to attract users of other editors. Guess I'll be cancelling my team's company subscriptions right away.
I've been a part of several mergers that SUCKED so I am really jaded here. With that being said they are FAR more aware of what makes a successful merger in addition to that they both have solid funding, we'll staffed, and fulfill different market segments that really do fit well together. Cursor needs an AI model of their own to stay competitive into the future, paid apis for everything are not a profitable way to run a Buisness. All said, I am pretty stoked for this. It seems like truly the right play for both of them to stay competitive and relevant when competing against a trillion dollar company. Lastly this isn't a VC buyout style merger but an engineering lead decision. That's already givin me greenflags, don't lose faith!
@@PixelPr0 So, after 7 days, I've been around and used all possible tools I could, including JetBrains AI and Cursor, and now I'm back to Supermaven in WebStorm. Everything else felt like a toy. Prompted by your comment, I also re-listened the stream, with focus on the points you made, and I think you are correct. I am much more willing to believe in it, much more than I did before.
Should be on the main channel! Great interview, well done

microphones with no arms seems really weird
Loved Tab9, liked Copilot, LOVE SuperMaven. Excited to see what they can do with Cursor 💪🏻
Time to first smile, is a good metric. I can say that my smile was very big and pretty early.

If you think I'm gonna use my precious brain juice to try to understand that messy, punctuation-less comment, think again.

Fax. I will be going back to Copilot even though it is worse just so I can continue using Intellij and VSCode.
@@PixelPr0oh sure I don’t dosagree - but it sucks for me as a user, as I just lost a good tool. I am not going to be using Cursor.
