    I had the honor of training under Tanaka Sensei 20 years ago when he visited the Philippines. Truly an awesome karateka.

    It’s so awesome to watch this. I worked on this for 45 minutes. Left side right side. I he came to our dojo in 94 . With his Lions. That was the day. I won 38 matches. Beat even his black belts from Japan. One of the most spiritual days I ever had. Told me. That martial arts was way beyond the physical. It’s an amazing thing. When there is no mind or body. Just SPIRIT.

    I had the honor to best 5 of his best students. And everyone else in the dojo that night. Because of him. His art was cerebral. Mind,Body,Spirit. His Spirit still lives in me. Was working on reverse punch on my bag today. His lightening fast strikes. His focus on the simple aspect of Shotokan.

      Pergunte aos mestres de hj wuem foi os grandes Mestre do brasil e do Japão anos 80 ha 90 nao sabem pois nao cai em exame de avaliacao de conhecimentos gerais e lamentável

    Tanaka seems to be a natural fighter and athlete. Would have been very interesting to see him compete in MMA competitions.

    Remember a funny story with him, I was looking through a keyhole to watch the belts training when someone grabbed his arm around my head I said stop it ffs and gave an elbow back without looking and when I turned it was him with a smile and laughing we were afraid whole camp would be sent back lol 😂 anyway nice to have met him

      We have timing and close distance to make up for it.
