John was 65 years old when that video was made and he was kicking ass and taking no prisoners. And he's now 70, and still sounds so damn amazing. He doesn't even look that old. What an amazing and talented artist.
That's fucking sexy cool and he doesn't take any prisoners and any shit from no one he looks amazing for 70 almost 71 holy fucking shit Batman he's aged gracefully like a fine wine 🍷 he's got amazing cheekbones and bone structure and DNA he's absolutely fucking gorgeous I've had the privilege of meeting him a few times and I've spoken to him on numerous occasions and I've seen him live 7 times In concert amazing voice indeed and born on July 4th a very great to be born on America's birthday while retaining your British citizenship priceless y'all XO Rosie from New York City
Ya know what the real shame is that modern "classic" rock stations don't play any of this mans life work. It has been 20 years in most of the major radio markets I've lived in. These songs are "life anthems" of my 58 years in this world. The youth of today would do well to hear the music and listen to the words of wisdom that John has delivered. The Rock and Roll hall of shame is missing many great performers, and John is one of them.
John and The Babys were so under rated. Saw the Babys in concert in late 70s in Phoenix opening for Journey. They blew Journey out of the water and I love Journey!
He sure is absolutely brilliant live I've seen him live 7 times no fucking shit guys John you're absolutely fucking brilliant and mega sexy as hell dude you look amazing for 70 almost 71 holy fucking shit Batman he looks like 45 my age but performs like 38 he must either got excellent DNA and bone structure wow that's obvious he works out really hard and how bout an awesome sex life
John's signature voice still stands true. Great stage presence! Dual Les Paul's, A Marshall Stack, I mean really....how can you go wrong. I posted in another video that I would really like to hear this through the soundboard. Just a thought How about a live album...Mr Waite, hint, hint, wink, wink.
Only thing wrong is no Keyboards and marginal back up vocals. I wanna hear back on my feet again with 4 part vocals, not the 2 part I hear. Unfortunately it costs more for a extra guy. By the way, that's a triple Les Paul presence as the Bass is one as well.
sad part after this show,he just does the acoustic versions of a lot of his songs,so be happy your here to see this.just not the same if you here the other stuff after this show.sounds so much much better with his band!1so enjoy while you can.i think they do it because of money issue, lot less people to pay,but not the same sound that fans want!!
Saw him 2010 und 2014 with only one guitarplayer. The sound was "poor" and I missed chor, keyboards,... ... but he, his voice and most of the songs are absoltely enough for an great Rock´n´Roll-Gig
A few thoughts here: he sounds awesome! Not sure why the guitarist on the left and bassist look like they’re stuck in the 80’s although John has updated his look? Also, do the guitarists trade lead and rhythm on Change?
What does tempo have to do with age?? I agree with Crashburn 32, change the key of the song if you can no longer hit the notes but play the songs at the correct tempo..
I DON'T UNDERSTAND HIS APPROACH VOCALLY ON THIS LIVE VERSION OF CHANGE .LOWER THE VOLUME AND STAY IN THE POCKET AND ON KEY . STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE SINGERS . JUST DEVIATES TOO MUCH FROM WHAT I'M USE TO HEARING . HE IS ONE OF THE GREATS .
I noticed that too. Songs are arranged to fit his more mature voice. I think his Bad English days were the most difficult stuff to sing. Very good voice but without the high notes. Let's be honest here and he is one of my very favorite Vocalist's.
1. Not in studio 2. Age You have to adjust to the road as well. Halford can't hit all the high notes like the old days. Neither can Pat Benatar, but they are still touring. That's part of the joy seeing them live . . . It's NOT like the studio 😉
Mos def on the keyboards, especially on The Babys numbers.............and the Bad English numbers as well as a few of his own. I love John (and the new Babys as well) but even Lou Gramm has Al Greenwood playing keys for him.
Neither of these songs are strategy songs, change was played by Tim Pierce on a BC rich mocking bird, and Tony Brock of the babys almost exclusively used les pauls
@@formattable1 Most of these commenters don’t know wtf they are talking about. If they aren’t bitchin about the song, it’s the music, or the vocal, or the instrument like this clown. And not one of em could do what anyone on that stage has done
John belongs in rock hall of fame! One of my favorite singers.

Saw him Sunday night he was freaking amazing
i was fortunate to meet john some years back, a super nice fella and very talented.
Great singer. One of a kind voice.
Yep...John Waite writes and performs great songs! Impressive!

This man just never fails to be great. John is a legend
Puts a smile on my face, I grew up with this music. He is awesome, so talented!
John and The Babys were so under rated. Saw the Babys in concert in late 70s in Phoenix opening for Journey. They blew Journey out of the water and I love Journey!
Scott same here but in Cincinnati The Babys were the opening for Journey and they Were some much better then Journey .
Two of the best voices ever to stand onstage John Waite and Steve Perry, must have been great
Journey had organizational struggles after Greg left they weren't as coherent.
Im assuming when Rolie left Journey Jonathan Cain Left the Babys and joined Journey. crazy
Who underrated them??
Holy shit, John Waite's awesome!
This was really just last year???? He looks great and sounds great! He has the exact same moves as he did in 1984; love this!
Forever young
My god John sounds as good as he did in his prime here lol
The guitarist owned the solo as well.
John rockin' the USA. And now a citizen of the same!
Thanks for the video. Brings back memories:)
Still sounds great in 2024!
You Rock John Waite💯♥️👌
I saw The Baby’s,Pat Traverse and Rush(in that order) in 1979.Tickets were 8.50.Great show!!!👍😄
Yep...there was a time, lol...1st time i saw the Stones tix were 15.00...crazy. :)
This is awesome - John takes great care of himself. He is still slinky. I bet he does yoga every day!
Of course he does yoga daily and maybe even bench presses or also have a lot of sex
just saw his acoustic show couple weeks ago......he's even better now. same bassist and guitarist.
JOHN is awesome LIVE !!!!!

The man is a rock and roll machine
Dude is like 65 going on 25
Bravo and a Hell Yes !!!
Freaking awesome!👌😎👍👉♥️
luv john waite!!
Could be wrong......but it sure feels right!
sad part after this show,he just does the acoustic versions of a lot of his songs,so be happy your here to see this.just not the same if you here the other stuff after this show.sounds so much much better with his band!1so enjoy while you can.i think they do it because of money issue, lot less people to pay,but not the same sound that fans want!!
I just can't understand.. 1st.. why John is underrated as a frontman.. And 2nd bring the BABYS back!!!
Baby's are touring w out John or Jon Cain or Corby or Ricky
Who underrated him??
Trying to get tickets so I can see him in Detroit and hopefully get all my vinyl signed.
Cheers 🍻
SOLID LIVE ROCK
Keep on buddy come to reading pa.
Real talent

Why do they always have to change the tempo of classic songs? Why don't they realize we want to hear them as we remember them?
uhhhh maybe because JW is in his late sixties??
What does tempo have to do with age?? I agree with Crashburn 32, change the key of the song if you can no longer hit the notes but play the songs at the correct tempo..
I agree. This version of Change kinda’ sucked.
Vision Quest
James Hatfield just walked by!!
Who is that drummer? He's really good
Who is the band on this gig with John?
I DON'T UNDERSTAND HIS APPROACH VOCALLY ON THIS LIVE VERSION OF CHANGE .LOWER THE VOLUME AND STAY IN THE POCKET AND ON KEY . STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE SINGERS . JUST DEVIATES TOO MUCH FROM WHAT I'M USE TO HEARING . HE IS ONE OF THE GREATS .

Let's be honest here and he is one of my very favorite Vocalist's.
He butchers his own songs really bad. In his defense so do a whole lot of other singers.
1. Not in studio 2. Age You have to adjust to the road as well. Halford can't hit all the high notes like the old days. Neither can Pat Benatar, but they are still touring. That's part of the joy seeing them live . . . It's NOT like the studio 😉
Is that the bass player from Tesla?
Where's the keyboards?
Mos def on the keyboards, especially on The Babys numbers.............and the Bad English numbers as well as a few of his own. I love John (and the new Babys as well) but even Lou Gramm has Al Greenwood playing keys for him.
I believe it was originally Jonathan Cain of Journey. Boy would that be one hell of a lineup!
It's good to hear the guitars for once.
Tom Michnay Michael Corby on keys originally
Tom Michnay Original Babys John Waite/Vocals and Bass, Tony Brock/Drums, Wally Stocker/Lead Guitar, Michael Corby/Keys
The guitar player next to the bass player looks lost
Couldn't they afford the keyboard player? Geez, turn up the vocals
Geez I'm a better drummer than this guy and I'm a singer
Change is sloppy.
They really butchered Change. Good Lord!!
Yup. Kinda brutal. Too slow and sloppy as well.
Can't watch, he's not singing it right. I hate it when they do that
Omg the tone of the song is TERRIBLE....... THIS IS A STRAT SONG...... WHO THEY TRYING TO BE ZAKK?
Neither of these songs are strategy songs, change was played by Tim Pierce on a BC rich mocking bird, and Tony Brock of the babys almost exclusively used les pauls

Horrible! His timing is off but I guess some don't mind. Ouch!!#
Sound SUCKS !
