Even when they cope that he only uses wiki for research when their level of research starts and ends at click bait headlines. Agree with everything but Wiki defense. ShortFatOtaku and other people showed how wiki is terrible for political topics because it's super biased towards SocDem/Prog views.
E.x ShortFatOtaku video about cultural m-ism word. You know the one. Wikipedia used to HONESTLY explain what it means, but now it pretends it's "jUsT a ConSpiRaCy DuDe!1!1!". The video is called Antonio Gramsci and Socialist intellectual sphere. He shows how wiki censors facts for it's biased narrative. There are other videos critiquing wiki because it provides biased sources when it's politics
Also I don't think it's fair to imply Destiny just uses Wikipedia, he does do research, even if it's "not deep" it's still a research.

Interesting seeing Destiny featured by iai. Even though I disagree on a lot he believes, anyone as prominent to the left or right of him would miss too many points and nuance in describing online politics. Anybody in the debate-community (like Ask Yourself, or Jack Angstreich) would be too niche, and so would anybody that's post-modern for that matter.

Its not being 'smart' that sets destiny apart from other political commentators. I could go to into a research lab at any R1 or R2 and find tons of people with genius intellect. If all that mattered was intelligence, we'd just have to consult people like Dr. Sharpless for all political disagreements.
Just because you are 'smart' or have a high IQ, that doesn't mean you have critical thinking. What Destiny does so well is being genuinely curious about why people believe what they do and seeing if these justifications valid.
This is difficult for most people as we tend to let our emotions guide our beliefs. Admitting that you are ignorant or wrong goes against our nature as humans and it takes guts. This problem is amplified by the internet where we can feel absolutely validated about our own beliefs and blocked out ones that disagree, making people even less likely to question their beliefs.
This process of critical thinking isn't some radical or new idea, which is why Destiny doesn't need to be a genius advocate for it. He's just the funniest and most entertaining critical thinking advocate I've encountered on the internet, and thats why we love him so much.

He is just open to talking with more people about more topics than the majority of streamers and content creators online that it is just easier for more people to be interested in watching his content. It happened last year when he was doing redpill content and going on their platforms to discuss the issues they focus on and more people just started to notice him and subscribe. And his opinions are not shaped by his viewers unless it’s a viewer or streamer actually discussing it live with him or writing a detailed email or post on his subreddit. That’s why his subscriber base is highly-engaged like the original commenter mentioned.

'You "can" be a left leaning person, and be aware of all these social issues that affect us without being f****ing miserable all the time and feeling like you're you know an evil person.' This implies to me that misery and a type of self loathing is a default feeling people who go left feel. That temporarily breaking free of the misery and feeling like you're the good guy is uncommon. For anyone reading this who feels like this is true and are left leaning what are your thoughts? Are you miserable or see yourself as evil because of your political stance, and why do you think that is? If you are right leaning or otherwise unaffiliated I won't mind hearing your opinion either.
