The Pau Gasol trade should be ranked higher than James Harden until Harden wins a championship. The trade for Pau swing the west in the Lakers favor and made them the biggest team in the league. They had a pair of twin towers with Kobe and a still talented Odom.

Awesome Card Games the rockets were the Houston losers before harden that is why the harden trade so insane and the fact they traded basically no one for him unless you really want to count kevin gone with the wind Martin then it’s a pretty big deal. Plus Gasol only big deal cause Kobe

Grant Hill was a sign and trade, and he was already hurt. The Pistons didn't come together until the traded Jerry Stackhouse for Rip then signed Chancy Billups and Drafted Tayshawn Prince in the same year

  • @mattthomas1442
    @mattthomas1442 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

The Grant Hill Ben Wallace trade was essentially a sign and trade like the Lebron one you didn't include. I don't know if it was ever officially that but Grant Hill did indeed plan on signing in Orlando anyway but the Magic were trying to clear some more money so they could also sign Duncan and Tmac(they of course did get Tmac) so they gave a list of players the Pistons could choose from so they could clear more money and the Pistons could get some compensation, reportedly the Pistons actually asked for Bo Outlaw first but the Magic decided they wanted to keep him so they gave them Wallace instead. Regardless the only reason Hill was traded was because he was going to sign there, no way were the Pistons shopping him or would have traded him for Wallace/Atkins if that wasn't the case.

One of the biggest trades ever, Kobe to the LA Lakers, although it happened before the 2000s. He and Phil Jaskson would eventually change the dynamic of how the Lakers had look, both Lakers dynasties great in their own way, yet Kobe still managed to keep the Lakers Box office even with all the injuries. Keeping it marketable, and with the help of Magic to acquire the best player in the world for the majority of past years.

      kawhi way bigger than DeRozon.
he almost as fast as him
he the best leBron stopper in the league
      he more explosive than demar.
if the dude in the paint don't get the block he will use leBron chasedown block

Kidd was an all star for the Mavs in 2009-10, just one season before they won the championship. Dirk was not the only star player, he was the only star scoring option.
Kidd led all players in the playoffs that season in assists, steals, and three-pointers... You don't do that at 38yo if you're not a star player... Past his prime, sure, but a bonafide star none the least.
I'd argue that if you took Kidd off the Mavs that season, and swapped him out with the PGs for the Lakers, OKC, or Heat, then whichever of those teams had Kidd would have won the championship and not the Mavericks.
J Kidd's full impact can't even be seen on the stat sheet... It's doing all the little things right when it matters most... Dirk and Kidd have that in common.

Kidd to the Nets was the most impactful. nets went from dead last to championships and non stop playoffs because of a 1 man trade marbury for Kidd. And on the other end the billy king trade should be up there as the worst as it litterally destroyed the franchise for years and it's a miracle current management has pulled them out with nothing to work with. Much respect to Nets

It’s funny you’re so correct not many saw James Harden becoming as good as he is today. I don’t want to toot my own horn but I saw It clear as day, though for some reason I thought harden was going to develop into a really good defender as well (which I couldn’t have been more wrong about). I remember getting into a huge argument about how I would have kept harden over Westbrook and people thought I was out of my mind. (Don’t get me wrong I thought they should have kept both) I just always thought Westbrook is very entertaining to watch and you have to respect his killer instinct and passion for the game, but all the criticism he gets about his game and it not translating to wins has been the way he’s always played. Though my only criticism about his game has always been how many 3’s he takes. Like your shooting 25% from 3 and you could jus step inside the 3 line and shoot damn near 50%. It’s totally insane to me. And I just never saw him changing his game because of ego. While I could foresee harden developing way more because his ego would drive him to do so. plus his basketball IQ I would always pick the smart player before the athletic player. (Having both is even better but if I had to choose, brains will always win out). Westbrooks ego is also why I predicted Durant going to the warriors. Anyway the point is I’m proud of myself for those predictions because I’m usually so bad at making NBA predictions. Some examples I Wanted warriors to get rid of curry because I thought he would never get over all the ankle injuries and we could have got some great assets for him. Or I thought lebron would go to 76ers or rockets cause I thought the only way he would go to the West was if it was a winning situation. Or I thought Wiggins for love was a bad trade and Wiggins was gonna develop and lebron could establish a dynasty by sacrificing a year or two for development. Anyway love you content keep up the good work you’re one of my favorite NBA youtubers

I think these trades should result in two great outcomes for both parts involved thus double great impact one for one team one for the other
Trae young Luka doncic may be top of this list. It seems like. ... ok it's way too much soon ... but ... it's seems like both teams found their new franchise players! Both of them can have great impact not only in their cities but in the entire league!

Your videos are usually very good and I appreciate them. You say you don't want to do sign and trades like the one with LeBron and then you include the Grant Hill trade, which was a sign and trade. Grant Hill was a free agent and had picked the Magic. Also, you say Andre Roberson was part of the Harden trade? That is not true at all. The Rockets traded Lowry to Toronto for an asset, which was a first round pick. Then they used that asset in the trade with Harden and included Kevin Martin (and Jeremy Lamb) as part of the Trade. The Toronto pick ended up being Adams. Also, with Harden being an all time great, I personally would have put that as number 1. In 7 years (and counting) with the Rockets, he has averaged 29 PPG, 7.7 APG and 6 RPG with a TS% of .610 leading the Rockets to the playoffs for all 7 years he has been there.

Grant Hill was a free agent and agreed to a sign and trade with Orlando. Detroit did not want to lose Grant Hill. (Side note: he Tracy McGrady and Tim Duncan made a visit together with Orlando and Tim didn't sign because he asked if family members can travel to games on the team plane with the players and Doc Rivers said no. Imagine that Big 3 being together).

The Pistons didn't think it was time to move on from Grant. Joe had just become the President and GM, and was intent on resigning him. It was Grant who went to Joe to inform him that he was planning on taking Orlando's offer. He suggested a sign and trade, due to their time playing together and their friendship.

The pistons didn’t feel like it was time to move on. And hill was injured in the playoffs the year he was becoming a free agent. Hill wanted to leave the pistons, he signed his deal with the magic while walking on crutches and having a huge boot on his leg/ankle.

Great video Andy but I think that the OKC-HOU trade for Harden was the most impactful trade in the 00's/10's beacuse it cost the league a future BIG 3 of Durant, Russ and Harden and effected the future as well since KD left OKC beacuse it was too hard for him to build a championship team around him so he joined the f***** 73-win team GSW and F***ED THE ENTIRE NBA

Melo to the Knicks, gave Knicks fans some fun games to watch but was selfish and only for Melos benefit and basically put a potential cap on his career. And on the other side has allowed the Nuggets to draft some of their star caliber players and don't have to deal with an aging melo.
