- We were invited to join Hawaii Island Mayor Mitch Roth on a "Walk With Mitch" during the Mani Festival at Hale Halawai on December 2, 2023 in Kailua Kona and we had a chance to get him on camera for a discussion on some of the important topics that we brought up during our walk including housing, permitting, transportation, sustainability, education and more. The Mayor was happy to chat with us on camera after our walk to lend some insights into the topics we hear most from our viewers and readers.
If you would like to learn more about what is going on with the events and issues with the County, Mayor Roth said to check out @HIMayorMitch on Instagram and Facebook. I DID mention an events calendar so that the public is aware of events such as the Sustainability Summit and other avenues that you can learn more about what the County is doing to help solve the island's problems and how you can be part of that experience.
Let us know what topics you would like to see covered when we meet with Mayor Roth again in 2024!

Great interview, Thank you for the information!
Great interview 365. Thank you Mr. Mayor for working on this issue that effects all of us.
Good info. I had no idea the busses were free! Where do we get a bus schedule and routes?

Any timeline on the proposed park on Alii just north of Kona Isles condos???
Thank you for this video but the one thing the mirror got away from when you mentioned the parking. You mentioned the parking but he ended up talking about something else. With the money that I’m spending on the parking, I can buy some more shirts at the farmers market.😂😂😂😂😂
I think we all understand the county doesn’t own the parking lots. I would be surprised if the county couldn’t pass a law regulating how much the companies could charge. I’m not big on govt regulation, yet price gouging is where govt should get involved. Although it could make things worse considering how many years it took for the surf school program to be initiated and then one owner w/different company names is awarded 3 of the 4 licenses. Hopefully that is corrected. Happy to see you get an interview with the mayor and hopefully you’ll get more. Mahalo
County can make restrictions on pay parking
What does the country say is affordable (how much $)
