Thing is (no pun intended) this just IS a linear game. It doesn´t want to be open world or an exploration game. Not every game needs to. The reviewer clearly went into this with set expectations and punishes the game for not being what he expected. Still not a sufficient competent gamer to find the right way "on the rails" without markers. Maybe this person should review undemanding open world games. Would save us a lot of crying.
what are you talking about??? this game definietly 9.5 for me
Where do they find these reviewers. Don’t worry in a year or so they will unlock a couple of doors via a patch and the game will get a 9/10🤦🏻🤦🏻
This is so ridiculous, Still Wakes The Deep is the BEST horror game of the year! It's just sooo immersive. The setting, the tension, the characters, the voice acting and how the game purposefully leaves the player "stumbling in the dark" about what is happening. It's amazing!
Players who only just start playing for lore would like this
when saying "great dialogue, superb voice acting, memorable setting", you sound like you couldn't care less about giving this game its 10 minutes. Maybe the game isn't 10 worthy but this is still the sum of this studios hard work and will be their livelihoods after release. You shouldnt phone in a review like this. Do better my guy.
Dude …what?!? he can do as he please and his critique is justified considering his livelihood is made from playing through the game. We need less yes men like you and more honesty like him. . YO ARE YOU OK BRO?!?1😂😂😂
@@wizardkelly2639 @wizardkelly2639 the livelihood of the developers should depend on the content and quality of the game they likely put thousands of hours into- but instead could depend on one 10 minute review. IGN are the biggest link at release to game developers and on-the-fence consumers. No personal hate at all to the reviewer, we're all human, but on this occasion- he didn't give this game it's due.
Ok last one 😂..
He thinks
"intrigue" & "interpersonal drama" are what made "THE THING" a classic lmao.
That’s true tho
He thinks men are women
@@Enotsw "The thing" has nearly NO interpersonal drama in the movie due to very little character development between characters BEFORE it kicks off.
The film has SOME intrigue (Like most films do)
The thing is a classic because of:
The characters, The set design, The atmosphere, the sound design, The practical effects, The direction & the actors doing such a great job.
It is a claustrophobic, paranoid induced horror movie.
But it does not have "Interpersonal drama"
& it has just about as much "intrigue" as any other Alien mystery movie.
Now remember, I'm not saying these things do not exist in the movie to some SMALL degree.
But to say "Intrigue & interpersonal drama is what made THE THING a classic"
Is wrong & incorrect.
This guy didn't play this game clearly. The path to take was always clear so it's not irritating at all. This game is anything but boring. You just have to understand what you can expect from this genre before going into it. Not every game needs to have an explorable map with collectibles and annoying RPG mechanics.
It would help to know that The Chinese Room is pretty much known for very linear, story driven experiences. This was never advertised as anything else. Seriously, who gives these people jobs?
Still buying day 1
did you enjoy it?
@@baughjaughes5104 loved it
A friend of mine cast the voice actors for this. They are a superb voice actor, stage actor and singer themself, so I'm not surprised to hear the voice acting being praised
This game is a solid 9
Don't listen to this guy, the game is actually great!
Why does it sound like he’s holding his nose while talking?
He's pretending to be a woman and thinks that talking through his nose makes him sound feminine. And, no, I'm not even joking lmao.
Please. Commenters. Leave your personal review score for the game as a response to this comment. Thanks!
This guy's voice always annoys me
...And the fact that he doesn't know how to be critical in a decent way. Nags like an unbearable teen all the way.
Fr
Narrator sounds he’s completely uninterested in doing this review.
Complains most of the video… 0/10 IGN
This is without doubt one of the worst reviews I’ve ever heard. Getting upset that a small studio has created a linear game focused on narrative is just lazy. Maybe rethink your career buddy, it sounds like you’ve lost your passion for this work
I've always defended IGN reviews,
until now...
This reviewer sounds awful
Tbf, so does this game that barely counts as a game since it's just a walking sim with a few dumb puzzles thrown in to trick you into thinking it's more interactive than it actually is.
You haven't even played the game for yourself
@@stuckintheinbetween you sound like a moron. Keep your opinions to yourself you scumbag
Yea the reviewer shouldn’t be reviewing anymore unless it’s himself .
Hardcore gamers will hate this. Casual gamers will love this.
