    Some people just don't and won't desire resolution - they just can't. I kept trying when I should have quit and nearly totally lost myself. It was a very dangerous place, but God...

    I find it very helpful when you repeat some of the most crucial aspects of complex trauma
    Your work is coherent, meaningful and very well digestible.

    This series is special because you outline and discuss the full spectrum of possible dynamics in a situation and then (and this is important) many of the common sequences that result from taking a given course of action. Often there are yet additional dilemmas or painful impasse following from your response to the situation. Thus a person can get more and more tangled up in the situation instead of making progress. So it is invaluable that you further assess thereactions/actions you take in the effort to reach a resolution.

    Wow. Amazing how specific you got into this experience of arguing with someone. I’ve never learned how to handle this and be able to walk away without being in crumbs. Thank you many many time. Thank you for uploading this!

    Wow, no one in my family wants to resolve conflict, nor apologize. I give up with them. They would rather put people down, & act superior.

    5:15 dangers of trying to resolve conflicts with narcissists or someone who doesn't want to change
    15:30 just because you’re passionate don’t let people label you as angry

      28 years here, right at 29. My wife will never even try to resolve conflict. It's ok for her to do anything and everything to me, but forbid if I would do anything she didn't like. Yes, sounds like you and I are dealing with a narcissist. I'm getting out in the next few months. I never knew any of this and wish I did.

    Thank you for explaining it isn't always best to rush right in and try to deal with conflict. As a codependent, it rarely works out for me.

    You also can't resolve conflict with someone with an avoidant attachment style. I gave my 31 year marriage a good go, but after many tries at marriage counseling through the years, until I realized it was never going to change, I felt like I was banging my head against a wall. We are now in divorce mediation. He told me he didn't want to get divorced, but he wouldn't stop me. He's dragging his avoidant feet and it's taking a lot longer than our mediator thought it would. 🙄

    Okay, so I should use the fact that my intention wasn't what you guessed, as a shield to acting improperly. I was just being authentic in my underwear and my intention wasn't what you guessed, so you have no right to get mad.

    Wasn’t david the one who was a polygamer? Not sure he’s a great example of anything positive. Then again every example of the Bible stories seems to be another example of the worst possible people. Weird how people think it was a good book.

    • @susannluckmann7705
      @susannluckmann7705 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It IS a very good book. David was a man after God's own heart- in the way David owned his mistakes, regreted and confessed to God. David was seeking God's advice and favor constantly. In that he is a very good example to all of us.
      Other books like to point out only the good- and even lie.
      God shows people how they really are- full of mistakes and He gives us a narrow way to get right. We always have the choice to believe in God or forsake Him; but our eternity will be according to our decision.
