Thank you so much, your videos are so so helpful! I am someone who does not have access to up-to-date complex trauma informed therapists so this is all I have to help me understand my condition.

How can you tell when "accepting" the other person has tripped from healthy acceptance to accepting thr unacceptable?

I used to think it was about sharing intimate past details and thoughts with your partner and full acceptance. But everything was later used against me by my now ex-wife

I'm very sorry for this disappointment. I do feel that if somebody abuses of our trust in this way of turning it against us, it cannot be our loss.
Our showing up - our openess is still our harvest and no-one- if we don't allow it - can take this capability of getting in relationship away from us.

There was the moment that I should abandon a part of myself to get loved and to love. After that moment I understand that love means giving up myself.
How horrible they are and how lonely I was.

Hey, I'm 62 _ didn't know either, compassion for u_ time to be our own best friends now, we were probably imprinted to trust our church father's, but that's were the wolves go.I told my minister that the pedo Sunday school teacher was abusing us, he said go tell the police if u have a problem. Too bad it's the police chief who is the Sunday school teacher

Loving actions and words but with ulterior motives, is that love? No, that is grooming and lovebombing, a manipulative tool that abusers use very well to get what they want out of a person. And they can withdraw that loving behaviour super quickly. This hot and cold mix is how they get you hooked.

If love is a frontal cortex decision, it begs the question to clarify: at what age is the frontal cortex of the human brain fully developed? What’s the criteria for determining this level of developmental completion?

I don't agree that love is a "decision in cortex". Being conscious about love certainty helps, but you can't have love without limbic brain involvement. In the end you need both.

maybe I didn't understand something that's been said here. does being in love evolve into love naturally or do we always have to learn how to love?
if love means meeting needs, how do you call what children feel towards their parents? or when they live far away from them?
if love is a decision, why can't sometimes mothers decide to love the newborns? why can't we decide that to love some stranger on the street? or a homeless person can we see on the way to a store?
what makes us stop loving a spouse? why people divorce when they can just decide to keep loving each other?
does it have to be "falling in love" first and then love?
why are some people hard to love? if it's a decision, everyone should be just as lovable.
isn't "meeting needs" just caring for someone? do caretakers in senior's care centers love their clients and their families don't?
is love really always unconditional? or does it require the object of love to have certain qualities first? you wouldn't love just anybody, right?
