I see a new underrated channel, and I agree with most of the points here, so... i am now subscribed! also if the shodan-gpt thing was real, I absolutely need a link, it'd be hilarious to mess around with that.
Great Review heroes, Played System shock for the first time in 2017 during a summer trip, absolutely loved it, played for almost 10 hours straight that day, had already played Deus ex a year prior and both of these games were my awakening for immersive sims, definetly in my top 10 of all time, such an amazing remaster i owe a lot to nightdive for their love for the classics.
Great Video! As always! :) I personally find it difficult to play games that are as old as the original one so I was happy when they announced the remake and I am happy it turned out well even though I can't draw a direct comparison due to never having played the original one. Granted I haven't played the release version so I can only speak of the updated 1.2 version. I personally find it a good game.
Where have you guys been all my life? You have great banter, great editing, and I never would've known about B.C. Piezophile if I hadn't caught your next fest video. You've earned this sub.
I don't think is anime eyes more like googly eyes lol And about the AI advancements I honestly I just waiting for someone trying to do some political deep fake with AI and fumbles it pretty much causing AI to get regulated into oblivion
I hate the audio log at @22.54 it not only took me out of the experience, but considering they removed the original music I think it doesn't gel with the atmosphere of the remake at all.
No, the remake did not even slightly "save" the immersive sim. It took what was originally one of the most forward-looking, technology-pushing games ever created and reimagined it as yet another pixelated lolretro indie FPS. Everything Night Dive added, just made it worse. They need to remember that they're no Looking Glass. They're at best a Gearbox. The remake is basically System Shock fanfic, not a true update of the original to modern standards.
I don't share such a harsh view of the remake or Nightdive. (I would say that they're a thousand times better than GearBox) I do have my own issues with the remake, similar to what you said I think it's far more like a shooter than I'd like it to be, instead of the survival horror lite action adventure game the original was. I'd love to make something more along the lines of the original or at least heavily inspired by it someday.
Honestly thought it was a little TOO close to the original in some aspects... but overall the remake was a pretty good attempt to provide a modernized experience.

Thanks for watching! Welcome to 2HH! 😃😃
Insanely underated
And yet, many games were built on its bones😁😁

I have come to view your handiwork O Heroes
Thanks for checking it out! 😁😁
It sucks there's no physical copy for the PS4 version....
Sucks that none of the physical merch has shipped to backers at all, honestly

Googly eyes 😅😅
But yeah, we'll see about AI regulation- going by recent track records regulation doesn't seem to be much more than an afterthought

I guess that's fair, I appreciated the small injokes that Nightdive added though
