I’m so glad you’re here! Thank you for letting me know. If there’s something you’d like to see more of, leave a comment and I’ll try to include it in the upcoming planning sesh.

~7:45 Others know what's best for you, AKA the heart is treacherous and man can't know where to step ( I forgot the wording! yay!) was drilled into me, especially as a girl/woman.
Then when I left, I joined on-line forums and subreddits and commented on websites with other ex-members of my group. However, there are down sides (so if you come from an independent church, I hope that helps you feel better, it must be lonely). We are all healing from religious trauma, and some men hold on to the patriarchy like a life line. I had so much un-solicited advice that I was expected to follow in these ex-groups! And, since I had just started de-constructing, I thought and felt I had to follow it. :(
Some of those men scream the loudest about the cult being demeaning to women.
One time I was chastised for daring to critique a grammar error by a semi-famous highly lauded counselor to lawyers. I was so gentle; he was abusive. No one dared say anything; just like the cult.
I hope I have the courage to speak up/type up when I see that kind of abuse again.
Later I learn he has been abusive to other women, but I still hear him lauded by ex-member men and women. So sad.
I'd have a different opinion if he was open and discussed learning about respecting women, not for the cult leaders, but for himself. Oh, and also if he apologized once to at least one of the three women he verbally abused (2 of them privately, so he has the he said/she said cover).
Anyway, thanks to anyone who read this, and btw, my therapist helped me put together that the above man is NOT safe.
    MO can f^rk off.

I’m sorry that happened! I’m very glad you had a supportive therapist who helped you through that. 💛
