@@outdoortherapy6596 Cool gadgets except when a foam model airplane begins to cost as much as a real one, then the cool gadgets are just cool but nothing else. I have been in RC for 50 years, and did well so far.
Great video Cody and Tom , glad to put faces with names, this smart technology is really taking off, just hope my older brain can keep up, thanks for sharing guys👍🏼👍🏼🤓
Big question, today my smart bat in this plane eflite 1500mm p51 kept telling me my batt was not charged but thing is my batt was still at 4.00v i restarted the controller and pluged tge battery in and got "not charged" warning while in the air. And so it didnt seem to trim the plane so i cud land it? And scuffed my plane . Why and what do i need to do .
First I would suggest updating your transmitter. There have been some bug fixes that should help with it displaying the warning in flight. Also, if you plug in while still on the ground and you see that warning then you should make sure your batteries are charged. 4.20v per cell is fully charged. 4.00v is about 75% and it will cause that warning to appear.
I AM SO SORRY DIDNT KNOW YOU GUYS GOT BACK TO ME, UMM, COULD I GO INTO TELEMETRY AND SET IT FOR WHEN IT GIVES ME WARNING , DONT THINK I HAVE A WAY TO UPDATE MY TRANMITTER I ONLY HAVE AN ANDROID TABLET
hi, how can I get the telemetry data of the used mAh during the flight. At present it is not possible to get it. I also do not know what the single cable with the plug coming from the BEC is used for. the Ar637TA has no free space to connect it. Wisches from Germany Guido
How do I accurately setup rpm. On my dx6e I have the poles which is 14, but what number do I use for ratio? I'm getting crazy rpm readings. My receiver is ar620 and 80amp avian esc. Thank you.
@@SpektrumRCvideos thanks for reply. It's still not accurate... Im running my eflite 52 590kv motor on 6s, 14x7 xoar electric prop, poles set to 14. Ratio set to 1:1. I'm getting over 65000 rpm... But my metre tells me about 10000. Is there something I'm missing?
Is there a way to get the new smart telemetry on a Gen 1 DX8, i thought I keep hearing that I could but even with the latest firmware none of it works except for Rx voltage
Cody- Tom. How does the flight pack voltage reading on the radio compare to flight pack voltage reading on the SMART checker? I’m curious-in the voltage accuracy between each of them. I’m very interested in this new Spectrum SMART tech since I have both DX9 and DX18 radios. Thanks in advance for your response. 😊
What you will see between the 2 will be very much the same depending on the load of the pack. You might see a .01 (mv) difference when there is no load on the motor but that is negligible. Hope that helps!
Hi, can we upgrade now all our models to a Smart system, with this ESC 100 amp and the new AR637 and batteries? Does it mean we can also have SAFE modes in any this models? Thank you.
Scale Modeling USA who’s watching their radio? My iX20 talks to me. All this information just makes flying safer. I’ve seen planes go down because the pilot put in an uncharged battery. I’ve seen a plane catch on fire from the battery that prior to the fire I’m sure showed high temps. I myself had to land on the down wind leg because I flew my battery to zero. All three of these would be fixed by this Smart technology.
Unhappily, the plane is painted in the wrong colors. people get the idea that this is the colors used during the war but it has been pointed out that the photos used for documentation are very old and faded and the actual color of the plane should be 'Olive Drab' camo not blue.

Not sure how I’ve survived 40 yrs of flying without this😎
that's funny 😃 it's just companies trying to convince us to buy more of their stuff i guess. it's cool tech though.
@@mentuemhet Disagree, it's that technology is better now so why not offer it to your clients.

Wow E-flite, she looks awesome. Thank you.
Love the technology but the foam planes are getting way out of hand price wise.
I love my P51, and IX20!
Can’t believe this, trying to get back into flying & u have to be a Brain Surgeon nowadays!!!😮
Very cool. Can't wait to get mine!

P.s. I also have 637 reciever in my fms super hornet and the smart batt doesn't do that in it
What can I connect to get GPS data on this receiver thru telemetry ? Thanks

on a direct drive setup you will use only pole count, leave ratio at 1. Hope that helps!

Great but it’s all backordered what good is that

Yes, Yes and Yes!
Cody, you said smart motor, did you mean smart esc???? or do you now have a 4th wire or something for the motor temp???
It was a slip of the tongue, it is simply a Spektrum Branded brushless motor. Thanks!
So the avian esc has MPH speed telemetry built in?
No it has Motor RPM built in
Love the plane looks awesome. Can i use my first gen dx7 to fly this plane with the smart esc and dont care about the tech will it be ok
Yes you can, older Spektrum radios will work for flight with no telemetry...
My DX7 Gen2 supports telemetry and AS3X plus safe w forward programming. Update your trx/rec. I use Avian w 637t. Model SPM7000. Gen2
The tech is great. That's all I'm saying.
Do you get capacity consumed when not using smart battery's....
No capacity used with smart!
I have seen several demos on this new P51 nobody's telling me how many channels it takes to operate it
7 if you want to use Safe Select
Otherwise 6 is just fine.
Well I have to say. This is pretty decent but I must say I get the same capabilities at a fraction of the price with my Taranis set up with sensors.
I really don't get the need for all this telemetry. I prefer to watch my plane not my radio.
