Oh Lord! No one else could wear a pink suit and be as cool as this legend! Completely rockin badass.
Rufus Thomas did.
@@To.Si.Ma. good point!

Love it! Albert makes that Flying V look like a toothpick!
met and shook hands with him in Detroit,,,his hands were MASSIVE like shaking hands with a baby,,mine disappeared,,really nice gentleman
Most badass man on a pink poly suit ever
I have an original Albert King autograph. My father got it from him after a show in Oslo when they where dining in the same restaurant. It's the only autograph that I own 😅
Please post more Albert King videos, please, please, please. I love Albert King, everyone should know him and appreciate his Art.❤
Agreed
“most important player in blues. Nobody played like that
before him, everybody plays like that after him” JBonamassa
Big Albert made that Flying V look like a ukulele. 6' 6" 280lbs. You had to see him to believe how large of a man he was.
God help the performer that followed King.
On this show Albert was so happy and relaxed . He's just sensational
The 3 Kings, B.B. King, Albert King, and Freddie King.
Add Martin Luther…
@@annunacky4463 Of Guitar.
Earl too
and my favourite, Burger King
@@OM10PYE 😂🤘
Incredible playing. He flips the V, and doesn't flip the strings! First string is on top, sixth string on bottom!
Great soulful rockin' blues, Mr. King🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Now, THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE. One of the 3 Kings just playing around.
My grandfathers friend here in orange 🍊 mound memphis ,tn

Albert Blues Power King!!!!!!!!
Albert King is killing it on the Midnight Special 🎉🎉, I love the blues music 🎉🎉
That bass line groove is deeper than the Marianas Trench! …… Bha da; da da da da; bha da; da da da da
Never seen Albert so happy
The King of Kings
Blues Power ❤
0:10 cool expressions on the face of the groovy bass player, too - I love the bass! 🎉
I keep coming back to this fabulous performance! Albert sounds like he’s in vocal pain while absolutely blowing our little minds!!
name of the bass player?
@@gusblues That seems to be the million dollar question 🙋🏼♀️, someone else here posted Bill Rennie - I’m not sure as I’ve looked for information on him and can’t find anything. He’s sure laying down some great bass lines though, eh? In the pocket.
@@KittyGrizGriz uffff what a solid band. they are perfect to Albert. unfortunatelly he use to chage a lot the members
@@gusbluesYep! Wish we had their names, too. Just now realized after watching umpteen times that the bassist & guitarist are dressed “the exact same way.”
Albert King. Amazing 👋👋✌️✌️🎸🎸
SMOOTH as strawberries 🍓 dipped in cocoa butter chocolate!
Love Alberts huge “Ahhhwww” at the very end!
He makes the hard look easy by being so smooth 😁. Wonderful clip from s legendary blues man.
He's Stevie Ray's step daddy, for real! They're father and son. Albert uses a guitar strung for a righty upside down and only uses the 3 top strings. Amazing!
What a find! The velvet bulldozer himself
That's some fine pickin'!
Happy Tuesday... thank you for sharing! 💖
Incredible! And that base and drummer? Wow!! just smoothly rambling on like a train.
Bad ass Blues from this Man for certain 😊
4 people makeing great music!

His playing puts a smile on my face !
SRV counted Albert King as his influence. I definitely hear it. Great finger work.
yeah, SRV bends notes just like King.
Stevie Ray had enormous hands for his size too & played heavy gauge strings - up to 17s. It’s like he was perfectly formed to be a guitarist - perfection!!
My buddy and I saw King Albert in 1987 or so .. Lonestar Cafe NYC.
Small intimate crowd.. heavenly experience.
on break he kindly welcome ed us into his green room area... signed my Album cover
Live Wire Blues Power.."Albert King Loves you"
It's sitting here next to me ...most cherished thing I have ✌️🎸😁
Such killer guitar 🎸 tone! Pure genius-
Legend 🤘
Appreciloving ❤
Forever great blues with Albert King 💪❤️💞, very very nice,👌👌👌🎸🎸🎸
MASTER!
Awesome upload MS. Hope he did Born under bad sign too. His Gibson Flying V pickups sound soooooo mellow and smooth on this upload.
He also did "I'll Play the Blues for You"
The pink gift , great.
The velvet bulldozer
Excellent.
The first hard rock guitarist.
unusual super tight accompaniment of bass and guitar in octave unison.
The BIG Man. EPIC. TY.
Spectacular!
Hammer down
More Albert King please!
King of Kings
A great left hand guitarrist and siger ¡
Lotta tone he's getting here
Brilliant and not an award in sight 👏 thanks from mac the mod BCFC 1875 .
Que classe! Incrível!!!!

♨️💥🎸💯
Wow
Wow cool AF
Can see where SRV got his influence
There wouldn't be a SRV without Albert. Every lick SRV played was either a King or Hendrix lick.
Yep! I love Stevie Ray & could kick myself for missing a live performance of his, he lived only one state away & I had the opportunity, huge regret.🩵🤍🤍
@KittyGrizGriz I caught SRV and Double Trouble live back around 84 at William & Mary. They were the warm up act for The Pretenders. Tbh I hadn’t heard of him at the time. In fact none of my friends had. Their set was electric but I was there for Chrissie Hynde.
@@curtisphilumalee1447 Can’t remember the exact year but it was around the same time as Page/Plants tour because I recall my lady friend telling me about going to see both acts & I hadn’t “heard” of SRV then. This was in Tulsa, OK & I’m still chagrined for missing both of those performances - Can’t imagine. You were lucky to see the Pretenders & SRV too I love Chrissie & didn’t see them either, so many greats back then we were blessed! I’ve got a t shirt that says “I may be old but I got to see the best bands!”
Oh yeah 💙✌️💃💃
Perfection right there.
거인 💕 👏👏👏👏👏
Who has that '58 Korina Flying V now? Got to be worth a fortune.
I’m not sure who owns Lucy. It’s a definitely a unicon. There’s a guy here in northern Mississippi that collects them. Can’t remember his name at the moment but I read an article about him years ago. He once saved one from a dump. Think it may have been an Explorer though. The article may have been in a Vintage Guitar magazine. Imagine this one could fetch 500K or close to it.
@curtisphilumalee1447 especially if it Albert Kings V, maybe $800k.
Rightttt. Here of late guitars are going through the roof in prices. Hopefully they have a down turn in the future.
Does anyone know who ended up with Alvin Lees “Big Red?”
Last I heard it was up for auction from his family & that Joe Bonamassa had played it in concert. Hope he didn’t get it as I don’t care for his playing sorry, not sorry.
@KittyGrizGriz Not off hand. I do know Gibson did a reissue of his 335 though. Last time I saw a reissue they were ridiculously priced. 7K and that’s been a while back.
Imagine Joe has it in his possession if he was playing it. The Colts owner Jim Irsay ( not sure if it’s spelled correctly ) is a big collector of vintage guitars owned by musicians who were stars. If I’d have to guess it’s probably owned by another musician though. Sorry
❤
You might be cool, but you’ll never be Albert King level cool
The roots of Robert Cray.
I saw Robert Cray with the Memphis Horns. B B King, Jimmie Vaughan, J. Geils, Magic Dick and Blues Time in 1997 at a Tulsa, OK Blues Festival - what a great show!
Great backing group, anyone know who ?
Whose the bassist - what a bass line humming along like a fricken freight train!?
I believe it's the same guy that's on the album Blues At Sunrise, Bill Rennie
❤😅
names of the musicians? seems to be Donald Kinsey on guitar?
Surely lost a good king in Albert and his flying v
Same lick in every song for his entire career yet people say he was a great guitarist 😆
Never played one chord either
I love his singing 🤷♂️
He was easily the most powerful guitarist in history. Hands down. Raw unfiltered power. SRV and Hendrix don’t even come close in that regard. Sure, they were more technically proficient, but when people talk about Albert being a great guitarist, they’re talking about the power. Now do me a favor. Take a guitar, flip it over, and don’t even bother to restring it. Throw away your pick too. Then try to play and tell me Albert wasn’t a genius.
What are the rhythm guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboards names in this Albert king line up?
I believe they are the same personnel as the ones on Albert's album Blues At Sunrise, that would be: rhythm guitar - Donald Kinsey, bass - Bill Rennie, drums - Sam King, organ - James Washington
@@mrJimCharles I don't think there other players were in other bands sides Donald Kinsey. It seems they didn't play on any other bands albums.
@@waynegram8907 it's almost impossible to.find anything about the guys other than Kinsey on the whole damn internet, I tried
@@waynegram8907 I believe the drummer is the same guy who had a band with his brother not surprisingly called the King Brothers or King Brothers Blues Band
@@mrJimCharles what is the album called by the king brothers blues band? I can't find anything on TH-cam only some live concerts
Who's playing bass? Looks like a 15 y.o that is def in the groove.
B B king said hendrix was the best rock and roll guitar player
Scary to think that Bonamassa owns that flying V. Wonder if we'll be seeing him sometime in a pink suit?!!
Wrong. Joe Bonamassa does not own the guitar seen in this video. He does, however, own three 1958 korina Vs: Donny J, Amos, and the Trash Bag.
Wow, he should have fired that hopeless drummer - bash bash bash on the cymbals all the way through King's solo.
i promise you if albert didn't like him he wouldn't be there I saw him stop a show and admonish a band member and start the song over again,,,Detroit at the old River Rock back in the eighties
I love Jimi's music and of course he was a better overall guitarist than Albert, but Albert played much deeper Blues than Jimi.
None of them can sing and play at the same time
"Them"??
@@gilldavidmour4199 now you're a them
@@johnbarry8542 And now you are one of 'those'.
you cant do either,,,what,,,jealous much,,,where's your midnight special,,,ha ha what a loser
He's not hendrix
Albert King came before Hendrix. Later Hendrix got a Flying V so he can sound like Albert King
Nobody is - you already knew that!!!
neither are you,,,what's your point ??? he was doing that shit BEFORE hendrix,,Albert paved the way for the kids,,,show some respect
@@tomstiel7576 my point is he said a lot of disrespectful things about hendrix he can't touch him that's my point bozo
@@dennisjackson6526 i got your bozo hanging jack,,,hendrix couldn't carry Alberts guitar case,,,,PERIOD,,,you kids amuse me
If you want to use this video to say he's better than hendrix this is a joke look he's wearing a pink suit real sad he does not have the stage presence that hendrix had point blank
I like Jimi Hendrix better
Hendrix worshiped Albert King
He once said he could play Jimi Hendrix's music but Jimi couldn't play his. Based off of what I have heard he is overrated. I think he was an old rough dried fuddy duddy.
