Another great Spiritual Moment with Wally. Thank you for this, it truly resonated with me. I love what you said about the Holy people and how we are Descendants of them! So true!
I arrived home this Evening,at Dusk I looked up at the Sky and saw the Quarter Moon. I marveled at it, and how it must look to others in a different location on the Planet. Wally's teaching allowed me to realize that I am truly of the Holy People from the Sky. When I was a little girl in Colorado I would tell my Mother I am going down to the Creek and Call God Long Distance. I would do that, watching the water, it always made me feel so good down deep inside of me, peaceful. Thank you, Holy Spirit Teacher Wally Brown.

Hopefully this can be an example for all young people--if your grandparents (or parents if you're my age+) are still around and in good health, sit them down and ask them about their lives and document the stories and their lessons, sit them down in front of a camera, it if they are willing. Not to put on youtube (although you certainly could if they are interesting people, such as our host has done) but because you will wish you had once they no longer can.
Thank you for sharing these lessons NTT!

What I find fascinating is that the teachings of the Navajo elders are very close to what Aristotle taught.
In essence, it could be summarized as: “Excellence, then, being of these two kinds, intellectual and moral, intellectual excellence owes its birth and growth mainly to instruction, and so requires time and experience, while moral excellence is the result of habit or custom.”.
So, be ready to learn and make sure you choose wisely.
Fascinating to see a sort of congruence, a sort of dialog between two unrelated cultures (by era, by continent), coming to very similar predicaments about what life is and what it means to live.
I am not saying they are the same or that they convey the exact same meaning.
What I see is a knowledge coming from a common past, long ago, which left a a legacy that still endures and that is transmitted even today, as it still has a meaning, a purpose.
Also, it means that the Navajo elders deserve a place in our philosophy departments, like Aristotle, in my opinion.
    Thanks for sharing!

I am on the island of Oahu right now, four days ago I met a Navajo woman from Shiprock on the big island at a luau. I am glad that she Is on that island and not this one. People here have lost their way. Eager to blame everyone and everything else for their situation. Not responsible for anything. Graffiti and garbage everywhere. The big island, super clean and friendly. So glad to have met that lady and to have had good conversation with her and her son. That mattered.

I want to say to the family of Wally, thank you for sharing your time with him with all of us! And to Wally, thank you for sharing your time with us. You look so much like my grandfather. It was said his mother was from a tribe, but no one knows for sure. The features are very similar. I never met him but my mom taught me to care about the Earth and the magic all around us.
And the things you say, they are the words I hear in my thigggs all the time, before I even got on TH-cam. Like the words here. It’s the beliefs I’ve had from with in.. and so, for me, there is much connection and pure truth and then I realize you are so similar in looks to my grandad and my auntie. Maybe there is more to this… hmm. Anyways, thank you.

If you don’t know where u are from u don’t know who are or how to move ahead in life. Knowing who you are helps you to make wise decisions in your life with a purpose. Being of dine’ decent(Apache) , lets you know what your people went thru for you to be here today. The sacrifices to try and preserve a way of life which is passed on to the next generation, so they to can take pride in who we are as a people. Not the fake things taught in the world about us. We are a holy people, caretakers of the land. Our decisions should be in Harmony with those truths. We must preserve this world for the next generation, it is our responsibility to those unborn. May creator direct our decisions in life that we may prove to be loyal Stuart’s of the land. Thanx for the direction Mr. Brown, you have helped me to refocus in life and focus on what is really important.

I am an older person, single “Anglo” female. I lived a year in central & north New Mexico, over 40 years ago. I have an attraction to the black bear. All my life I have lived with cats and I am more at peace with them than with people, although I worked 30 years in public service people-contact jobs, & I loved my work. What is the meaning, please, of the black bear?
