      Yeah, but is he a Ted Cruz? Big speeches but never does anything... We have to fight back we're losing badly. So raise taxes on billionaires, endowments strip PACs tax exempt status and limit salaries make it so 95% has to go directly to causes not consultants and salaries, give them a wealth tax, tax all ceo comp as income (including stock options) plus capital gains tax on stock options, lower congressional pay to average salary in the US, cannot own private homes anymore, put them in dorms, no off site meetings with lobbyists at all can't even say hello in the street, social security tax on incomes over $400K have to pay full boat plus 5% all the way back to dollar one (22%tax rate). Full transparency on all NGO's, PACs household limit of $7500 to PACs... Give them what they want and it'll help us.

      @BikeLion agreed JH and TG are quite young... something the GOP NEEDS much more of in their greater political culture. To be fair, I don't disagree with your concern for division amongst the party, but don't you think DT will be getting too old? Basic actuarial estimations would likely predict next 6 years will include a significant risk of declined physical/health capacity for DT. A man of his size, age, diet, and lifestyle is almost guaranteed to see a major decline in health in this window...

I don't know exactly. It's certainly not the majority, but I would guess somewhere between 10 and 20 percent of his voters, so it'd be large enough make his replacement likely to lose.

    If this merger goes through three of the five grocery stores in my town will be owned by the same company giving them a monopoly. None of the employees at those three stores will have any bargaining power at all and it will destroy any chances the other stores have of getting any benefits upgraded because they'll be competing with a union that doesn't have to give the employees anything because they're the Monopoly in town. And I suspect that the prices at the two lower-priced stores will go up to the Kroger level making everything more expensive. It's too big. None of The Independents in our town will have a chance. The only other choice we'll have would be Walmart and that's a giant chain so not much of a choice at all.

      That's what they want, they plan on these ESG standards to choke out any competition, to where a handful of corporations own everything so they can dominate all of humanity, this is bigger than just merging grocery stores, and black rock is behind all of this with the support of the WEF, IMF and the U.N.

    • @heatherhall7899
      @heatherhall7899 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Same here. Kroger (Marianos) and Albertsons (Jewel) are right across the street from each other in my town. Right now, I can only survive by going to both and buying mainly those items which are on sale. No doubt Kroger will raise prices when it becomes the only dog in town. Their statement that they won't close any stores is misleading. They can't operate two stores across the street from each other. Their statement that they will be able to compete with Costco and Walmart doesn't fly. People who shop at Kroger/Albertsons don't shop at Costco/Walmart. The want a full service traditional grocery instead. Our Kroger sells a lot of upscale stuff like fancy cheese and has an olive bar. It actually seems like it's trying to compete with stores like Whole Foods. This is all greed & lies. Higher prices and being stuck with bad customer service will be the only result.

    I drove semi trucks as an employee of Safeway Stores Incorporated for thirty five years in Seattle division.Two years before retiring Albertsons took over Safeway. No big deal,but when I heard about Kroger taking over Albertsons and everything under their tentacles I was shocked. Kroger was the reason the Teamsters got so powerful. Kroger was hell on wheels in the nineteen twenties and thirties. Poor working conditions Union busting and everything under the sun. They will soon be reaching monopoly status. I think they should be looked at very closely. I was a proud member of Teamsters local 174 for forty years.

I, for one, cringe whenever I hear talk of "inclusive" especially in terms of "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion". People being "promoted and rewarded based on their success and ability to be a leader ..." doesn't mean a damned thing. How about doing the job for which they were hired and meeting/exceeding goals, and not what ethnic group or gender to which they identify as being used for measuring "success"? All these bs terms (E.G.: Diversity and Inclusion) are being pushed by the Feds on all companies, large and small. Big brother is selling cowpatties as an absolute necessity for corporate success ... and they're not. Product quality, customer satisfaction, and field support will determine a company's success or failure. Just sayin'.

    I’m listening to this while on the train to picket In Front of the New School in NYC after 25 years working and watching so much corruption and profit while the actual professors are 87 percent of the faculty and are all part time, paid only for the hours we are in the classroom at this expensive university making peanuts for a just b that takes many additional hours of labor that are wholly unpaid., mostly uninsured, and in a school where harassment and contract grievances are arbitrated by the university’s own employees. These conversations MATTER . We are two weeks into our strike. PAY YOUR ASSOCIATEs! No raise since 2018 and admin is 45 percent of the university’s budget, while 2000 teachers are struggling

    Smart, confident, assertive, definitive, direct and fearless. Josh would make a fantastic future President. I still want Trump at this point, as this next election is likely the last election that he will be able to be taken seriously for in consideration of his age. But Josh should consider maybe a 2028 run. (Edit) The next conservative President no matter who it is, should consider Josh for the United States Attorney General. Get him in there and you would see some serious clean-up of those Hell holes we call the DOJ and FBI. We need someone in there to clean house and he seems to have exactly what it would take. Josh "Kick Ass and Take Names" Hawley.

    Scary that the CEO of a company does not know when his company is sued by the Federal government! Why does inclusion alway force the majority to abide to what the minority beleave? I don't care who loves who, or what you do with anyone else in your bedroom, but I do not need to agree with your beliefs. I respect everyone's personal decisions, but I don't have to agree with them, and should not be forced to!

    Senator Hawley gets right to the point of the wierd corporate culture that presents themselves as inclusive and promoting their equity policies, as if by doing so they are pereach other. A well functioning corporation and meeting obligations to shareholders. The two are exlusive. Sen Hawley is right that they should be focused on delivering high quality reasonably priced food to everyone in the communities they serve.

    This merger will be a disaster. It will create a near monopoly in the Midwest similar to Safeway's dominance on the West Coast where groceries are a lot higher due to lack of competition. Kroger purchased the independent chain Marianos just a few years ago and they immediately raised prices and customer service began to deteriorate. Bad, bad idea. Albertsons, the merger target, is a better run, slightly less expensive store and has better customer service. It will certainly be ruined.

    • @bethanyhealy4989
      @bethanyhealy4989 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Albertsons bought the all vons stores including where I work at and things have gone downhill for us. They are so cheap. safety is non existent anymore same with customer service. We had the best customer service and had to take a class on it when we started there. People who have started there within a few years haven't a clue what customer service is.

    • @heatherhall7899
      @heatherhall7899 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bethanyhealy4989 Sorry to hear that. But Kroger is ever worse than Albertsons when it comes to customer service. They also seem very unethical. For example, they often don't mark the sale price on the items on the shelf so that shoppers can't get the bargain unless they have a list to remind them. I think they do this on purpose.

      Well being in Canada I can tell you that yea, it's absolutely a load of bullshit when only a couple companies essentially control your entire food market. Loblaws, Metro, and Sobeys essentially run the show across the country here, and our grocery prices have increased by a RIDICULOUS amount the past few years. Government is too limp to even do anything about it, and they probably don't care to because it's all just more tax revenue for them. Those companies were proven guilty of price fixing for bread and various other things a few years back and NOTHING happened to them as a result, they paid some pittance of a fine and that's it. They were recently "investigated" for price gouging and nothing came of that either. Apparently 15-25% food price increases during 8% inflation is perfectly reasonable...
      I say all that as someone who works for one of those companies and is in a position to see not just what we charge, but what we pay. And I can tell you without question, the increase in price outpaces the increase in cost 99 times out of 100. Year after year these guys report record breaking profits, but nah, nothing janky is going on. They claim grocery prices only went up like 7-8%, but that's only true if you average the increases across the board. Most things haven't really gone up, but the high-volume sales items? Things people buy lots of and all the time? Those go up by ridiculous leaps. Meat prices have skyrocketed in the last 5-7 years, but actual costs have almost stayed the same. Margins in the meat department in particular, I previously considered 30-35% to be extremely good, that was "high" for the most part. Now margins in that same department are upwards of 45%....
      I'm all for a business making money, but when it comes to food the fact that we all need to eat to survive makes their scummy unnecessary price hikes just a whole entire load of greedy bullshit that won't stop till it all stops the hard way....
