Another great idea filled video, Ardyth! And yes, that $7.00 stencil died a soldier’s death and went down in glory, but totally worth it for all the cards you goy out of it! Glad you could order another!
I have probably said this before -- you are a delight to watch. Love your ideas and how you stick to the subject without boring one to death! You are one of my faves for inspiration!

That is a great idea - I have a couple of those as well - this one ripped too many times in the centre. It's truly dead. lol! Thanks so much for watching!
I wish I was as good as you are with coming up with these gorgeous ideas! I especially thought it was so genius of you to snip out a few squares to place your sentiment there! I love that!
That smal square masking was a lot more n itself but then two colors each square?! It turned out fantastic!!!! But I’d never have the patience for that! Really cool cards!
RIP in to your stencil. It gave it's all for the love of crafting. I'm currently playing with stencils & mediums so this video was perfect timing for creating patterns within the stencil. Can't wait to see part 2!
Well the cards look real nice but sad for the stencil but the way I look at it is it was worth the fun of creating and that’s why we craft to learn from things we shouldn’t do. So thanks for sharing. You always make things fun! 😊
Thanks for sharing, I love how you get so many looks from the same stencil. I'm glad you were able to find a new one the same. My favourite one of these, was the last one with the embossed stencil then cut into a circle. Great idea cutting part of it out to let the sentiment be seen clearly.
Wow Ardyth. When one of your videos comes up in my feed, i hit "like" immediately cuz i know i will love it ... and of course this one didn't disappoint. I can always count on you for unique and creative ideas. I'm happy to hear you were able to order a replacement stencil. Thanks so much for another great video. 🇨🇦 😊 ❤
Unfortunately I have done the same to my stencils. I don't use pixie spray, and (unfortunately) I don't have a grip mat either. The stencils were just super delicate and I added ink in a rough manner I guess. I need to use some type of pouncer for those super delicate areas.
I think this one would have had similar issues - the points were just so small, which of course is what makes it such a great, precise geometric pattern. I have a couple of pouncers - that's a great tip that I hope I remember when the replacement stencil arrives! lol! Thanks for watching!
Love the many ways you used this stencil! I have a lot of geometric stencils and now You have given me ways to change them up! Thank you for the inspiration!
Great cards! I'm facing reality that I have pretty much killed a steel rule die. Apparently diy glitter cardstock is hard on them. I only made 60 of those cards. I've used the die a few hundred times, and I too will replace mine.
I go to Ardyth’s videos and try something she did….and then stop because I can’t even BEGIN to think or create like she does!!!!!! Hahaha! You are the BEST!
When I'm in a slump, I make backgrounds: strips, inked, smooshed, gelli print, whatever I'm in the mood for creating. I can figure out what to do with the backgrounds later, but this gives me the opportunity to create without any boundaries. Love your creations!!
I’ve been very busy in my stamp room. I’ll post the cards on IG in a couple weeks. Today I finished Bally tried the Altenew tulip embossing folder and matching stencil. I have the Hosta and the calming cluster flower set with stamp and die and I had never tried these. I might have others but I tried the tulip one. First embossed with folder, then stenciled. Epic fail! It didn’t seem to line up exactly right and I got green from a stem in the side of a tilling petal. Fixed that and when I got finished I just didn’t like it! So then I stenciled first and thought I’d use this photo paper that’s nothing like photo paper. Stenciled beautifully! But I used my sticky Altenew wheel mat and that paper peeled apart!!!! It was like peeling a sticky label off! I had to wash the rest to get the paper off! That was enough stenciling for me!!
I've noticed that photo paper can separate pretty easily. You could try flipping it over and peeling the mat away from the paper, rather than trying to peel the paper from the mat, if you know what I mean? But maybe try it on a piece before you do all the work. That's heartbreaking!
@@ardyth it’s only paper. I just knew it wasn’t the day for me. But I had used oxides the second time too and they blend so much better for my inexperienced hands. I have lots of crafty friends and decided to spice up January by sending each a diy card kit. I cut and stamped components, included a how to sheet and tucked it into an envelope. Love your cards - now I have to go order that stencil!
Just back from The Papercrafters Workshop. Guess who just got the last two Illusion stencils minutes before I got there... You're fast but I'm patient.❤
I love how you come up with so many unique and fun ideas with just one tool. That stencil was a great investment indeed! Thanks so much for your inspirations. I found the domed foam work well. And I have pouncers too-2sizes but you can’t use those for blending! I have some smaller brushes but just don’t do well with brushes. The not ones I use a lot are the really small pencil type brushes from altenew. I bought 16 of the stubbies a year or more ago and sent them back. When I tried using my CP inks and a brush today for stenciling, I couldn’t get the ink to lay down. I also think my inks are getting dry from not using them. I haven’t even added the new ones because I figured as little as I use them they’ll just dry out too. All in all, I need a lot more practice with inking stencils! But I think the foamed foam works better for me just because my brushes are still too new so they just soak up ink. Very bad craft day!!but yesterday was a blast inking up embossing folders! I’ve been really trying to use a lot of old/new things I’ve never used. But I think I like the stencils best with the gel plate, ghost prints, and pastes. Still learning.
@@ardyth I learned really fast that like your blending brushes are heavily used so the ink doesn’t soak way up into the bristles like if they were brand new. Does that make sense? If I got more use out of them I think they’d be great! I just watched how fast Jennifer laid down ink with the large altenew brushes, the round ones which I also have, but haven’t tried because of the same reason. It just comes right out of hers and yours because they’re loaded with ink already. Fortunately I found a much cheaper price for all my tools except the Gina K ones.

@@ardyth Yes. It does make sense. The Christmas card brought Tim Holtz’s Holiday Blocks to mind. Because I own that die set and because the geometric shapes would pair wonderfully with all kinds of stencils. A similar look would be quite possible. And while typing this I thought about Disney’s It’s a Small World Ride and Mary Blair’s art in general. There’s something there. A germ of an idea.
