Great ideas. I love all your cards. Thank you for getting right into it and not spending a lot of time talking. Your videos are so nice to watch. Thank you for sharing.😊🤗
I think a lot of the tools and products I started out with in the 90’s work better than some of the newer stuff. I’ve gotten out some of my “vintage “ card making stuff too lately. My corner rounder and eyelets especially. Ribbon has been making a comeback as well as pattern paper! There is such a constant push for purchasing new products, which can quickly get expensive. I grow quite weary of it. Crafting fads come and go, the main thing is to have fun and actually use what you have!
Ardyth, I could listen to you talk for hours!!! Your voice is so calming!!! Your card making skills and techniques are soo much fun and make me look at products differently!!! Every video inspires me. Thank you!! Big Hugs!!! Keep it up Queen!!! You are AMAZING!
I still use the Stamp-a-ma-big at times. I still use woodblock stamps, red rubber, along with newer product. Thanks for sharing the fun you had creating. I need to do more of the playing and experimenting.
All lovely Ardyth, as usual, thank you. I think my card making journey started 5 1/2 years ago, so I miss the stampamajigs, apologies for spelling, but I have heard of one and made a makeshift Lego version. In the short time I've been cardmaking, I've seen so many different ink application tools! I do love the mid mod shapes, I do have a designated drawer for my stamps and dies, I'm fascinated by them, and the cats! I was born in 66, and remember the designs so well, and everyone's grandparents had a long necked cat on the mantle piece. 😊❤❤❤
YES! So clever to make your own with lego - I think a t-ruler would work too, as long as it was thick enough to catch the block. And that cat is definitely a 60s/70s icon! I can picture it now! Thanks so much for watching!
I don't have a die machine but I do make dots for embellishments the way you do, and then use various sized hole punches to make the dots and shapes i need. It is so much more affordable and I can use left over paper cuts to do it. And yes, I was around and stamping when there was only wood blocks and ink pads. When that caught on so many new things began to show up on the market. Thanks for going back to old school for a day.
Oh that's so clever! I got rid of all my punches when I got dies, but I really wish I had kept a couple of the smaller ones - they're faster that getting out the dies. lol! Thanks for watching!
Yes, I still have my old-fashioned stamp positioner, and I still love my old wood-mounted rubber stamps. Almost 30 years ago, (😮) when I first started, I had to be more resourceful. Sometimes, I feel like I was more creative then, especially when I look at my old cards (yes, we've kept them all that were given within the family 😊). I used to be known as "the wallpaper queen" because of how I created backgrounds from smaller stamps and household items. I feel so old 😂. Not very often do I feel like I must have the same stamps I see in videos, but I really do need those 60's shapes 😁 I love what you did with them! As always, these designs are creative and so funky!
I admire your impeccable ability to use tiny images in amazing ways be it stencils, dies, or stamps! It’s really your own unique ability! I’ve never seen anyone do so much with small images or dies, etc. bravo Ardyth! I looked at that set after you bought that TJ stamp you love so much but thought, I like it it’s cool but what would I do with all those tiny things! I’m afraid since I take 10 hours to do what you could in 20 minutes, I don’t have the patience! But I love and admire you all the more for this exceptional ability! Fantastic!
I’ve been stamping 33 years. So, I was definitely around during the wood block stamping. I still have an entire flat file of those stamps, and still use them sometimes. One of the tools I have, and have enjoyed using back then and now, is the crimping tool. The cardstock or envelope gets run through the crimper (I have a wide wooden one), and it leaves the sort of corrugated cardboard pattern. By folding the paper or envelope first, I can get herringbone, etc. crimped designs. TFS!
Oh Ardyth! You are sooo creative! Love all these cards. And yes, I am that old and still have several wood block stamps that unfortunately, don’t get used.
I still do have the stamp-a-ma-jig stuck in a drawer with old tools I haven't used in ages. I am always amazed at what you come up with! Thank you for your continued inspiration!
Wood block stamps and the stamp-a-majig are still used with love in my crafting. Someday I may be able to get a misti, but for now the stamp-a-majig works well for me. :)
Love my woodblock stamps.. and red rubber!! Still have a cuttlebug too! Use it all the time! Never had a stampamajig but definitely been spoiled with the misti. My stampn'scrub stamp cleaner mat is probably the oldest thing i still use all the time!! The split happy birthday, doodly circles around the stars card was my fave! 😊
Oh, the stamp scrubber - that was a good one! As for that card, once I got away from it and looked again I wondered if it looked like Happy &*!*&/ Birthday! which was really not my intent! lol! Or is that what you liked about it? lol! Thanks so much for watching!
@@ardyth Oh no! I didn't see it as a 'bleep' at all!! Lol!! I wouldn't have liked that, but I can see how perhaps it could look that way. I liked ALL these cards though Ardyth! I'm a sucker for the retro designs, I was extra impressed with how you took a simple star and jazzed it up with those wonky ovals!! Happy Easter! ✝️
I truly love rubber stamps the best. The crispness just can't be beat, however...I probably would have never went down the road of card making if it weren't for the misti! That's the truth!
I've been stamping for 30 years, but haven't heard of the Stampamajig. I'm old enough to remember the 60s color combinations and pink and orange are my favorite. 😊
I've purged a lot in my craft room over the years, but have a medium-sized tote with "retro/vintage" tools. There actually are times when I've put them to good use.........the Stamp-a-ma-jig, acrylic blocks, etc. p.s. LOVE your channel! 🧡
I still have a Stampamajig and its original plastic sheet, even though I’ve only been stamping for about 11 years. I still use some old tools but one I don’t see anymore are these little, white hard foam rollers that are great for inking embossed images, without getting too much ink on the background. They work great for the newer 3D folders. They were made by Darice, and I still have them and use them. I gave away my punches but I kept ones that punch out shapes like little hearts, faster than looking for tiny dies. Love your cards!
Those sound like some sort of brayer? And I think using them on a 3d embossing folder is super clever! And there is many a time I wish I had held onto a couple of my punches for exactly that reason! lol! Thanks for watching!
@@ardyth sort of, except they don’t have a handle, they’re handheld. Gives you a bit more control than a brayer. Can’t be washed, though. But the package had about 20 I think.
I have a stampagig to and some other stuff but my favorite I could see (sound down) was your tips and tricks thanks for extending the sentiment to trim it down 🌹❤️💯
I love all of your cards and absolutely LOVE watching how your mind works to put thi gs together!! Simple, but genius. Thank you for sharing what your wonderfully creative mind comes up with! I get giddy every time I see you have a new video up.
Ooh, it's like you're reading my mind.... lol! Thanks for watching! (in the meantime, I do have an organization playlist that may give you some ideas, and my LIMES play list talks about using what you have to get the look of an inspiration).
It's really enjoyable to see how you "see" such unique ways of using and combining the stamps. This video is definitely my favourite video that I have watched recently. Also pink and orange just make me happy!!
I have a Misti, a Holtz and an SU! stamping platform- and I use them all, but nothing beats the stampamajig for space efficiency, and obviously to keep wood mounted stamps in line.
My dream is to buy all those containers for my cheap sequins and rhinestones from cue confetti at Black Friday this year. I almost did last year but just is a hard time to buy for me with Christmas gifts! I’m an organizer freak for sure! They’re all organized in small clear jars but I like how those containers fit tightly together. And oh how I wish I could by so many of their confettis! Favorite window shopping store! Just a dream.
I just was given a stamp-a-ma-big from my mother collection of card making things. I can’t wait to try it and all the wonderful things you did using different stamps to make amazing patterns. Love all of your cards
On the pointy thing congrats card -- I like that the color is not precisely in the outline. I like that it's slightly "off". That stamp that you aid it looks like a "virus" -- I think it looks like a brassy mirror we had hanging over the sofa well into the 80s. 🙄 the single stamped line happy birthday card is actually my favorite. But that stamp set and the orange/pink color scheme makes them all truly grooooovy. 😎
This was so fun....I still have a stamp a majig, but I learned a new way to use it... even if I can't spell it. LOL. Love the cards and your way to use stamps so creatively.... thanks Ardyth.
The Tim Holtz positioner is a great tool - I had one back in the day. And yes, I thought that one shape looked like a virus, but maybe I've just been over-exposed (hahaha!) to those images... lol! Thanks for watching!
The first stamp reminds me of my very first pair of bell bottoms except they were the negative of the print without stems. Love all of Technique Junkies retro stamps. (Good thing I recently shopped them!) I still have all my old wooden stamps. I also have a stamp pad of striped neon colors that is still juicy! I couldn't believe it. It was hidden away. I decided to see if it still worked and amazingly it still did. I used it for my bunnies on my Easter envelopes this year. It's at least 30 years old as I had when my children were quite small. Love all your cards. You are such an ambitious stamper!
Oh how fun! Looks like bell bottoms are back, too! And I'm picturing a Kaleidocolor ink pad - I used to have a few of those. Thanks so much for watching!
I found my Stamp a ma jig a couple of months ago and still had no idea how to use it. Now that I have seen this demo I will be trying it out! You're the best, thanks!
Another great video Ardyth I still use my red rubber and wood block stamps I have been stamping since I was a young teenager 😂although it is easier with the Misti when you have arthritic hands 🙌 cheers Jackie from Oz 💜x
Such a great video, Ardyth! Your cards are funky & fun with a great color combo. And you always have such great tips - like the "handle" for trimming your sentiment strip. I still have & use my Stamp-a-ma-jig!!
Awesome cards Ardyth, I love the stamps you used so I might need to do some shopping… again!! Ah, old school tools. I love my metal ruler, craft knives and scissors for cutting and fussy cutting. Not needing a die for every stamped image is great. But I also use the tools for more intricate cutting dies or machines can not do. Anyway, thank you for another amazing video and sharing your talent (despite the enabling, LOL!!). Thanks👍
Thanks for all your tips, always, but especially the one about trimming down sentiment strips! I can’t tell you how many i’ve ruined trimming them down with scissors!!!
Right on Ardyth! I dig these cards! Yes, I still have MANY woodblock stamps, along with the Stamp-a-ma-jig! I wasted so much paper, along with a lot of patience when there was nothing but wood block stamps! It was a few years before I discovered the Stamp-a-ma-jig! Such a goofy name but what a game changer! Loved this video! It was far out! rofl......!!!
Aaahhh! Stop! I had to stop right after I saw that stamp! Oh my goodness! That is my kind of floral right there! It’s absolutely fantastic! It’s almost an abstract design! How cool! I’ll tell you Ardyth, I have so much in common with the style you have that more and more I’m recognizing I either have what you are showing or I want it! I just love this!
Oh yeah. I have old wood mounted rubber stamps and I still use some of them. I have a stamp corner thingy but I’ve not really used it. Love the sixties style little stamps. I have some similar ones.
I’ve been adding texture to gel prints with my older wood block stamps! Fun for new card looks! Thanks for sharing your ideas with the stamping tools👍❤️
Definitely groovy cards! I had a Stamp-a-ma-jig and tons of red rubber stamps. I've since ditched the old tool and removed all the stamps from the wooden blocks to save space. They are all in a binder now. Anyway, love, love all the cards and the bright colors.
Yes it was around for red rubber stamping and the stampamajig! We sure have a long way since then. Love your videos and how you show your thought process and how you fix mistakes and what you like and don’t like 👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Ardyth! Yes, I remember using a stamp positioner that itself was a clear acrylic kinda in the shape of a "t"....I stamped onto a square of vellum to position my stamp...I remember having to be very precise with lining up the vellum and the positioner....I also have a "newer" old product from Inkadinkadoo that was used like your stamp wheel....reminds me of a Spirograph...looking forward to your next visit to Craft Roulette...
Ive been stamping for over 40 years tho i only had a few stamps as a kid. Then we entered the inkadinkadoo era which was the only company i knew of except hero arts. I have that stamp a ma jig somewhere…
I love learning about new ideas for tools I already have. I have the fun Simon Hurley stripe pull apart stamp, but I hadn’t thought to use it with other stamps. I’ve just been making plaids and other stripe designs. Another commenter mentioned an old tool that I have: Inkadinkado’s Stamping Gear. Do you remember those? I bought all of it. Well, maybe not all the stamps that accompanied the gears, but definitely all of the gears. Oval, circle, rectangle, square. Lots of the stamps too. The stamp paddles that came with the gears were designed for cling rubber stamps. But there are few videos on TH-cam that show you how to adapt the paddles so they will work with clear stamps too. Bonus? I recently figured out how to use the stamping gear with the mini shapes gel plates. So now I can make patterns with the mini gel plates too. By setting up different sized gel plates, I can be working on three different prints at the same time. I use the 5x7 plate like an ink pad and the 8x10 pad for stencils so I can add patterns to the mini plates. I pick up paint from the 5x7 plate and then impress a pattern from the 8x10 plate before stamping the mini plate using the stamping gear for placement. I periodically pull prints from both the 5x7 plate and the 8x10 plates. I wind up with the larger patterned prints, 5x7 prints, and 8x10 prints all from the same gel printing session.
I saw that comment and need to google the stamping gear. Oh, I see it - it's like a precursor to the stampwheel. Fun! And how clever that you can use them with the gel plates. You sound like a gel print master! I'd love to see some of the prints! Thanks so much for watching!
NO! I was busy quilting when the early stuff came out! But my hubby died 2 yrs ago &I"m having to create a new me new life so bye bye to quilting. I LOVE your cards! So creative! I don't think I have an oval stamp but I sure loved watching you create with it. I'll have to hunt those row stamps of Hurley's.
I have remounted all of my red rubber stamps EXCEPT for my Stampin Up sets that have layered flowers. I still have those sets, intact, with permanent Stamp a ma jig " guides" stamped on acetate in the case. I love my stamp positioner, but the old Stamp a ma jig still has it's uses!
Yes. I still have lots of wood mounted stamps. Many of the wood mounted stamps are from companies that are no longer in business like PSX. I still use my Stamp A Ma Jig occasionally. I also still have the Stamp Oasis Restamper.
I’ve been at this hobby since about 1993 or 1994, so yes, I remember the old school tools. I still have my stamp-a-majig and use it for wood block sentiments that aren’t glued on quite straight.
Literally just used my Stamp-a-ma-jig about 6 hours ago! 😄 My Easter stamp is an old wood block one. Old tool still works well, and I’ll actually be able to get some cards finished *before* the “due” date! 😂 TFS another great video 😊😊
I never had a stamp-a-ma-jig, I borrowed some Duplo from my sons’ collection. Rubber stamping was still so frustratingly imprecise that I gave up until clear stamps came along. Fun to see you use three different positioners in the same video! And those retro Mid-century Modern shapes are the bomb! Such creative cards.
I sure do remember the Stampamajig, I didn't use it much but I still have and use wooden stamps and red rubber ones. Such retro designs and colors bring back the memories!
I love the cards…the first one reminds me of a dress I had in the 60’s still have a lot of wood block stamps. Every time i think about getting rid of them, I remember I have just the stamp i need to finish a project. I don’t have a Stampamajig but I do have something similar with a n “L” shaped acrylic block and an acrylic sheet. I think the Stampamajig is better.
I can picture that - I think I had it too at one point. It was like a thick T-ruler. I've heard that people make their own with lego as well. We're so creative! lol! Thanks for watching!
These are all so cool!!!!! Thanks, too, for showing the TJ stamp on the Altenew Stamp Wheel. Got one for Christmas, having seen it on one of your vids, and am still a bit tentative about using it. Love your channel!
The StampWheel is a very good tool if you like circular patterns. If you start simple like what I did here, you will very quickly get the hang of it. Thanks so much for your kind words!
thank you so much for your helpful demos. I love how you show ideas that haven't worked for you, and then you've set about changing them. I have loads of smaller stamps and I'm going to try using them in repeat patterns. I bought a stamping platform about 3 years ago and don't use it enough.
Precision is not my virtue so I’d mess up during this process so I would not entertain adding and adding things that could go wrong so easily but I admire your exact stamping. Way to go! The Altenew stamp positioner is the most precise way to stamp that I’ve used.
What a fun video! Love your projects and the old school techniques. I remember the stamp-a-ma-jig and still have some of my much loved old wooden stamps. Thank you for another fun, inspiring tutorial!
Oh yes Ardyth!! I remember the 60's waaay too well.. I had the stampamajig...it was a pain..thank goodness for stamp positioners!!! LOVE this big one you are using.. your cards are awesome..my favorite is virus flowers!!
Great ideas. I love all your cards. Thank you for getting right into it and not spending a lot of time talking. Your videos are so nice to watch. Thank you for sharing.😊🤗

Ah yes, the Stampamajig. I still have mine and occasionally still use it! That last card made me think of the Spirograph!
I thought so too. I still have mine

LOL! Thanks for watching!
Love this look! Marimekko always reminds me of my childhood. My mother loved it. Me, too.

I love the retro feel of your cards and the colors are spot on! TYSM for sharing!

Love all of these! ❤ They are cool and fun and funky too!! 😃 Great for Birthday and Thank you cards too!❤ Thank you Ardyth!
Thanks so much for watching, Sylvia!
This was so fun....I still have a stamp a majig, but I learned a new way to use it... even if I can't spell it. LOL. Love the cards and your way to use stamps so creatively.... thanks Ardyth.
LOL! Everyone says it differently too! Thanks for watching!
I still use my Stamp a ma jig every now and then. I still use some of my wood stamps too.
Its great to pull out the old favourites every once in a while! Thanks for watching!
I have the acrylic stamp aligner…and no Misti- only the Tim holtz stamp positioner!
Did you say virus flower? That is hilarious 😂
The Tim Holtz positioner is a great tool - I had one back in the day. And yes, I thought that one shape looked like a virus, but maybe I've just been over-exposed (hahaha!) to those images... lol! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this tutorial. I have a variety of old wood-block rubber stamps. You've given me several ideas/reasons for pulling them out!
Yay! Thanks so much for watching!
Oh yay! Yes, it's a good tool that works well if you're careful with it! Thanks so much for watching!
Another great video Ardyth I still use my red rubber and wood block stamps I have been stamping since I was a young teenager 😂although it is easier with the Misti when you have arthritic hands 🙌 cheers Jackie from Oz 💜x
Thanks so much for watching!
Such a great video, Ardyth! Your cards are funky & fun with a great color combo. And you always have such great tips - like the "handle" for trimming your sentiment strip. I still have & use my Stamp-a-ma-jig!!
Thanks so much for watching!
I still have, and use my stamp-a-ma-jig.
I definitely need to get that 60s stamp set
I love mid-century mod type looks, too! Thanks for watching!
Thanks👍
Thanks so much for watching, Anneke!
Love your creativity
Thank you! 😊
I love the stencil technique as well. I’m gonna try it.
Great ideas. I have some of those old gadgets still. Thank you so much. Will be playing n create new backgrounds. Awesome
Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for all your tips, always, but especially the one about trimming down sentiment strips! I can’t tell you how many i’ve ruined trimming them down with scissors!!!
That's a good one - I didn't invent it but whoever did is a genius! Thanks for watching!
Far out! lol! I love mid-century mod. Thanks so much for watching!
This video made me want to try a Stamp-a-ma-jig!
They're still around but not always easy to find! Thanks so much for watching!
Aaahhh!
Thanks so much for watching Denise!
Oh yeah. I have old wood mounted rubber stamps and I still use some of them. I have a stamp corner thingy but I’ve not really used it. Love the sixties style little stamps. I have some similar ones.
Thanks for watching!
Great cards thank you 😊
Thanks so much!
Some lovely cards x
Thank you!
I’ve been adding texture to gel prints with my older wood block stamps! Fun for new card looks! Thanks for sharing your ideas with the stamping tools👍❤️
What a great tip! Thanks for sharing!
What a cool blast from the past I still have mine and all my red rubber stamps too.💐💜
Thanks so much for watching!
I still use my stampamajig and my wood stamps. As for stamp positioners, I love my Tim Holtz positioner!
Yes it's a good positioner too - it's very similar to this big sizzix one. Thanks for watching!
Clever idea's!
Thank you!
My mind is just blown!🤯
Definitely groovy cards! I had a Stamp-a-ma-jig and tons of red rubber stamps. I've since ditched the old tool and removed all the stamps from the wooden blocks to save space. They are all in a binder now. Anyway, love, love all the cards and the bright colors.
That is awesome! Thanks so much for watching!
Yes it was around for red rubber stamping and the stampamajig! We sure have a long way since then. Love your videos and how you show your thought process and how you fix mistakes and what you like and don’t like 👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Yes! See you Friday night - hope the wheel is kind to me! lol!
Great video! I still use my stamp-a-majig all the time
Thanks for watching!
Fabulous cards 🥰 I love your card designs and the way you played with the stamp-sets ❤️ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
Thanks so much for watching!
Ardyth, Wow! Those were amazing cards. The last one reminded me of the old Spirographs. I love that 60's stamp. So cool. 😊
Thanks for that!
Love your cards! The colours go so well and looks mod! I like that you used only 2 / 3 colours!
Thanks for watching!
I'm so sorry for your loss and admire your determination to move forward! Thanks so much for watching!
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
I just love your scientific method to crafting. Makes life easier!
I'm all for making life easier! Thanks for watching!
Yes. I still have lots of wood mounted stamps. Many of the wood mounted stamps are from companies that are no longer in business like PSX. I still use my Stamp A Ma Jig occasionally. I also still have the Stamp Oasis Restamper.
I remember PSX! Thanks so much for watching!
I’ve been at this hobby since about 1993 or 1994, so yes, I remember the old school tools. I still have my stamp-a-majig and use it for wood block sentiments that aren’t glued on quite straight.
Thanks for watching!
Literally just used my Stamp-a-ma-jig about 6 hours ago! 😄 My Easter stamp is an old wood block one. Old tool still works well, and I’ll actually be able to get some cards finished *before* the “due” date! 😂 TFS another great video 😊😊
Thanks so much for watching!
Clever to create your own, but I know what you mean. Thanks so much for watching!
I sure do remember the Stampamajig, I didn't use it much but I still have and use wooden stamps and red rubber ones. Such retro designs and colors bring back the memories!
Thanks so much for watching!
Even though I have several MISTI's, I still use my Stampamajig sometimes when I need to fit something into a small space on my card.
Yes, sometimes it's the exact right thing! Thanks for watching!
Hi, I so excited to meet you at the Scrapbook Expo in Chantilly VA, today, thank you for your kindness.
I enjoyed meeting you too, Marilyn!
STAMP A MAJIG!!!! Still using mine, even with three different positioners!
Haha! Sometimes it's just the exact right tool! Thanks for watching!
thank you so much for your helpful demos. I love how you show ideas that haven't worked for you, and then you've set about changing them. I have loads of smaller stamps and I'm going to try using them in repeat patterns. I bought a stamping platform about 3 years ago and don't use it enough.
Thank you so much!
I still use my stamp-a-ma jig. It is pretty handy!
Yes! Sometimes it's the exact right thing! Thanks so much for watching!
Precision is not my virtue so I’d mess up during this process so I would not entertain adding and adding things that could go wrong so easily but I admire your exact stamping. Way to go! The Altenew stamp positioner is the most precise way to stamp that I’ve used.
Thanks so much for watching!
What a fun video! Love your projects and the old school techniques. I remember the stamp-a-ma-jig and still have some of my much loved old wooden stamps. Thank you for another fun, inspiring tutorial!
Thanks so much!
Oh yes Ardyth!! I remember the 60's waaay too well..
I had the stampamajig...it was a pain..thank goodness for stamp positioners!!! LOVE this big one you are using.. your cards are awesome..my favorite is virus flowers!!
LOL! Virus flowers - thanks so much for watching!
Great cards. Going to make me some embellishments from circles.
The designs remind me of a Spirograph!
Thanks so much for watching!
