  • #Synchronicity is a word coined by Swiss #Psychologist Carl Jung to describe a seemingly coincidental, yet meaningful event in the external world that also has significant meaning to the inner self in some meaningful way.
Jung defined synchronicity as an “acausal connecting (togetherness) principle,” “meaningful coincidence”, “acausal parallelism” or “meaningful coincidence of two or more events where something other than the #probability of chance is involved.”
Jung believed that occurrences labeled as “coincidences,” are not actually coincidences due to chance. Instead, he believed that these occurrences are directly related to the observer’s inner intent, while experiencing an external confirmation of the inner mind.
By examining the patterns of synchronicity in psychology, Jung made himself and outcast in the world of #academia. He thought it was his purpose serve as a medium to provide powerful insight, direction and guidance into the internal and external mind.
Synchronicity can be recognized in #dreams, #symbols, #numbers, “#random” events, conversation, spontaneous encounter, anything that brings the #internal to the #external is an example of a synchronistic event for a Junuian Psychologist.
