2:45 Omg that run. I wish I could’ve seen her sing this in the late 80s live. Its about as powerful of a ballad as you’re ever going to hear. Not just anyone can sing this. Ann’s register on this song is insane and as a beatmaker/producer I’m obsessed with it not going to lie. Ooo I’d love to see if Adele could sing this although I think shes naturally sings a half or so octave lower than Ann. Would be fun to see what she could do with it tho
Yeahhh still very good, but her voice is far from as strong as ever. Based on how it sounds, she was probably just naturally falling into some of the techniques that gave her such a great voice, but likely had no coach or a poor coach to teach her how to sing how she did while preserving it. This is the voice of someone who spent a couple decades belting it 24/7 but found out too late what damage that could do. A lot of quality rock singers from the 70s and 80s are like that now, back then you couldn't find many vocal coaches outside of opera who knew how to handle voices like theirs with the sounds they wanted to make so a lot of rock singers pushed their voices to the limit for amazing vocals and 20-30 years later they can carry a tune and have a decent voice but sound like they picked up a pack a day smoking habit for about 15 years somewhere.
Chills when she sings No other singer gives my heart jitters like that. She is in a league of her own! ❤ Can’t believe i never went to a Heart concert when I was young I was a teen in the 80’s- classic
My favorite song and favorite live version I listen to it multiple times a day in the car. My kids all know it word for word spreading the love of Heart to kids in 2024. ❤
1:17 - that woman's facial expressions alone, tell us what we need to know about the impact of this amazing song. I was only 2 years of age when this was released, but now at 37, I love it as if I grew up with it.
OMG her voice is STILL so powerful. I saw them in the 80s and people were blown away back then by how strong her vocal chords are. And its still amazing 3 decades later.
J N austan - WTF are you talking about? What does “digitally processed” even mean in this day and age? The woman sings completely live every time she takes the stage. She doesn’t use auto-tune, if that’s what you’re implying. It’s her voice and anyone with half an ear for music can tell she’s not cheating in any way.
I was there, with two of my oldest and dearest friends. Up in the upper circle to Nancy's right, about half way to the back. And I tell you this for absolutely nothing. That bit in that first chorus, the hook 1:17 to1:32..... that voice goes right through you. And I mean right through you, to your bones. I was sat there with three other musicians and all we could do was look at each other with our chins on our chests. You dont just hear it, you really and I mean REALLY feel it. It didnt have to be loud, it just resonated on a whole other level. You have to experience it to feel it and try and understand it. I've seen some bloody amazing gigs at the Albert Hall, but this was something else. I've never ever felt anything like it. Even though its a world away from the studio version, my god that voice just rips your heart out of your chest. Its one of my dearest and most treasured memories of 40 years of concert going.
My first rock concert was with Heart. Of all the ones I've been to in my days, I will never forget how mesmerizing and beautiful the voice of Ann Wilson was and still is.
Oh my good giddy aunt. That was just astoundingly fantastic! By far & away the very best version of one of my favourite songs. The vocals were so incredible & the orchestra adding that little bit more character & depth. This is a song I could happily listen to on repeat all day long.
I got emotional seeing R Palmer wiping his tears, Man so much emotions were there feeling his old friends son playing, i bet he imagined Jon Bonham was drumming there.
She has been gifted with an incredible instrument and she really knows how to use it. Not just an amazing vocalist, her phrasing is what makes this incredible and her ability to truly emote through the lyrics. She uses as much restraint as she does power vocals, and that creates texture and allows the song to truly build. That’s some skill.
Interesting you'd like a scream. The trend in music is for singers to be losing their voice by 30, kids following closely, because of voice straining vocal trends.

Love You Dearly 🎤🎸🎹🎼🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️♥️♥️♥️
the original is superb but this with the orchestra takes it to a higher level magnificent
Hard to believe this was categorized as rock! Amazing!
Especially at have speed as the original, which I thought was too rushed!
this is my favorite version of this song....i even had a you tuber drummer cover it (studio version).... th-cam.com/video/EGX5fUNmgrw/w-d-xo.html
The original is a cover ... superb cover.
@@ilkeadrall710 who did the original
No auto-tune crap. No pretention. Just pure talent.
It really has been a blessing to have been alive while these EXTREMELY talented ladies rocked! The best female vocalist of all time! Hands down!
KeenCrafting absolutely I saw them in 70’s live what a show
yeah but not me,its just follow me every moment, style, the way im doing only that bitches want money to those who playing games wit me
What a Momentum❤️so much HEART in this❤
I grew up in one of the most amazing musical generations, the 80’s. This is still by far one of the most beautiful and powerful songs I’ve ever heard.
The 80's had the best music! Proud class of '89 😊
Wow,Ann Wilson STILL has the pipes,Wow.What a great tune.
The woman in the crowd at 1:20 generates a tear in my eye. Genuine emotion.
absolutely! i had to rewind that spot a few times the first time i saw this vid
Yup her expression sums it all up. Wow what a performance
Too true.
She looks lovely too.
Brian Daniels that moment is one of my top all time moments, rewound so many times absolutely stunning
Incredible. That's how you do it, kids. It's amazing that the voice is still there and as strong as ever.
Talking 'bout "kids" ... Listen to this one with 12 years of age: u2hpf8CdvMw
Barry Goldsbury She is shouting, Nancy is much better.
@@kylebeach6799 Yeah, but they are laughing all the way to the bank!!
One of the greats
Yes you my friend, you are who reading this, you've got some really classy musical taste right there!
Im a big fan of trap music and rap and garbage shit, but heart will always be one of my favorite bands
🤗❤️
Thanks needed to hear that👍🏼👏🏼😂
Same to you my friend.
Lovely..
GOD, her voice always gives me goosebumps. What a tremendous vocalist, what a band♥️
Chills when she sings No other singer gives my heart jitters like that. She is in a league of her own! ❤
Can’t believe i never went to a Heart concert when I was young I was a teen in the 80’s- classic
My favorite song and favorite live version I listen to it multiple times a day in the car. My kids all know it word for word spreading the love of Heart to kids in 2024. ❤
Tears in my eyes, chills throughout my body…these women are amazing.
Goosebumps in 2022. Never seen before but sung with such passion and feelings. Can't believe how old these women are but how well they sing.
December 8th 2024. Fantastic&……no words could be used to describe theirs work. Thanks. Amazing. ❤❤❤
1:17 - that woman's facial expressions alone, tell us what we need to know about the impact of this amazing song. I was only 2 years of age when this was released, but now at 37, I love it as if I grew up with it.
Good .... Good....
Good catch, such an honest, moving expression.
That’s the one I noticed! Reflects the superb performance.
That girl looks exactly like Ann in the 70s :O
OMG her voice is STILL so powerful. I saw them in the 80s and people were blown away back then by how strong her vocal chords are. And its still amazing 3 decades later.
I did in Nashville Twice
NOT! Her vocals are digitally processed. Poor woman struggles to sing :(
@@jnaustan4423 they aren't here? I see her put effort in it but she isn't struggling..
I saw them at the Omni in Atlanta In the 80s
Everyone possess some level of passion, but it’s only a rare few that can take that passion and transfer it to the masses.
Heart still can do that!
I had the opportunity to meet both of them . They were so kind and beautiful.
I mean...30 years after the song came out and they can still do this. Wow.
i'ts amazing isn't it
They can sell beauty supplements just as easy.
40years?
Just 10 times slower.
Ann has such amazing talent, and one of those unique sounds that is instantaneously identifiable.
Wish I was there!
Nice write up Steve! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!
My first rock concert was with Heart. Of all the ones I've been to in my days, I will never forget how mesmerizing and beautiful the voice of Ann Wilson was and still is.
True beauty is the combination of soul, talent and physical.
I am priveleged to see this performance by one of the world’s magnificents. 😌
She has an incredible voice and it’s held up amazingly well for someone in her 60s
Wow this version with a philharmonic is out of this world
kind of blows away anything i have seen come out say...in the last 20-30 years or so. What a talent.
Not sure how many times I've seen this video...... but damn I just never ever get tired of seeing this beautiful man sing his heart out
Generations beyond ours will still be listening to this.
Astronomically Blessed to have lived, while this pair of sisters graced the world with the talent pulled from the ages.
Oh my good giddy aunt.
That was just astoundingly fantastic!
By far & away the very best version of one of my favourite songs.
The vocals were so incredible & the orchestra adding that little bit more character & depth.
This is a song I could happily listen to on repeat all day long.
Haha not heard that for ages 😂 My giddy aunt too
For me These Women are the OG of Rock, from pure raw talent and no frills, no fashion line or Lipstick Brand etc Just them and their God Given Talent!
If you haven't seen their tribute to Led Zepplin freakin watch it.......WOW! Stairway to heaven.
That performance is the greatest of all performances period.
I got emotional seeing R Palmer wiping his tears, Man so much emotions were there feeling his old friends son playing, i bet he imagined Jon Bonham was drumming there.
I meant R Plant, sorry for typo.
That performance blew me away. I had to watch it 3 times back to back to confirm that I wasn't hallucinating!
@@myarkin2011 No worries. We got it. You're cool in my book, bro :) That was an amazing, emotional performance esp. with Plant and Bonham's reactions.
Perfect music and voice! I believe that even after you die you can hear this song!! Music of the Angels.....Simply beautiful!!! 05/07/2023
She has such a voice and takes total control of it as you can see with her mouth movements 😊
65 years old, still flawlessly hitting that F#5!!!
The scream is one of the great moments in female rock. Ann is a rock goddess. And Nancy is just so beautiful and such a great musician.
Interesting you'd like a scream. The trend in music is for singers to be losing their voice by 30, kids following closely, because of voice straining vocal trends.
@@americangirl7595 saw them three times in one year in 87. The love between the sisters was incredible...I hope they have their family stuff worked out
It’s not a scream...it’s known as the note.
She hits an F Sharp in the second pre chorus which is just UNREAL, Best to ever do it, Long live the Sisters of rock 😍
I don't know music enough to recognize the notes, but I will take your word for it!
Hi again, can you give me a timestamp of when she hits the F sharp. If you would be so kind, I would appreciate it.

@@Flickymcbean825 Thanks. My mom taught music, but I didn't have much interest in it.
I love how she loads up for it.
The quality of the music/orchestra and it musical arrangement is at the highest level. Very soothing......
For my husbands birthday present, as he is still learning , Wesley very kindly sent me the music note sheets for this amazing song ,,, yes 6 years later he is avidly playing and learning , thank you Wesley x
She is the real deal, this women can really sing, one in a million! What a performer....
like wine, the older, the better, like this music ...
Ditto
To see Nancy and Ann at their best, try heart with the royal philharmonic orchestra at the royal albert hall in 2016. Absolutely stunning.
its so amazing to see a singer aside from his age she never change the tones and the high notes
