It really shouldn't baffle you. The government likes to pretend they care about people, but they really don't. If they sincerely cared, we would have a functioning public healthcare system, strict environmental protection laws, frequent inspections on industrial manufacturing/power plants, and most of all, a government that does things for the good of the common people, not so the rich can line their own pockets at everyone else's expense. The US government cares about how quickly they can make money, and will work towards that goal at all costs.

Yet sadly, in spite of knowing the truth, there will be those whom are unable to do anything about it. Be it the continued financial crisis or a lack of alternative resources, there will be those who cannot do anything but stay exactly where they are.
The love of money is the root of all evil, and the evil of what these companies have done is beyond comprehension. However, and sadly so, this is not the only example of the "love of money" having serious consequences for those without. Again and again, "the people" pay the price for the greed of others... and it will only continue, as there seem to be little to no consequence for the wicked actions and/or agendas of the so called ruling elites.
This entire realm is under the control of the fallen, including the individual governments, agencies, commissions, conglomerates, associations and networks, all working together to bring about their "new world order", as spoken of by the heads of the aforementioned... yet so many still refuse to see. We must open our eyes and our minds to the harshest of realities, we are viewed as nothing more than chattel, useless eaters and breeders, and those who see themselves as our overlords will never have our interests at heart, never mind our "best" interests.
All that we see happening in this world today, the issues amongst nations, the issues surrounding borders, the issues surrounding gender identity and sex, the seemingly attempted grooming of young children, the lawlessness, the marked "coldness of heart"- whilst simultaneously claiming "love", "tolerance" and "inclusion" for all, the political extremities, the current and coming famines, the mass deaths of marine life, the earthquakes in diverse places, the pestilence, the diseases, the increased knowledge in virtually all areas and the breakthroughs in genetic engineering, all of this was written of in the ancient texts we now possess... the accuracy of which is stunning indeed.! We were forewarned of these days many, many centuries ago, an act of loving mercy that we may prepare ourselves, not only past days and what has already come to pass, but also for what is yet to come. Lord have mercy. We were warned not to trust those in positions of power within this realm, that such powers were wicked and their deeds nefarious. We were warned not to have deelings with those dark powers, that we not face the same judgements that will befall them.
The last time this realm was judged on account of the evil and wickedness within, it was with water in the form of the great flood. Noah warned the people about what was to come, and he was mocked and scorned for his efforts... right up until the rains began to fall. The next time, the time to come, it shall be with fire... and those whom are now mocking and scorning those who are trying to warn them, they will not be mocking and scorning when the first flames appear.
If you do not know Jesus of Nazareth, Yeshua Hamashiach, the only begotten son of our heavenly Father, now is the time to pray to him that he makes himself known to you... for he is the ONLY means by which we can be saved. Sadly, the churches were infiltrated years ago and the overwhelming majority of them preach false gospels and a false Jesus. Our Lord Jesus accosted the "religious" of his day, drawing attention to their hypocrisies and their cold hearts. He took umbrage with the rich folks who had no love for those with nothing, or next to nothing, and taught that we ALL ought to care for the homeless, the fatherless, the widows and orphans, the infirmed and the deficient, that this was what love truly is. He spent his time with what society deems as the "undesirables", stating that he came for the lost sheep.
Jesus loves you, more than you could possibly comprehend, with his love being the motive for the tortuous death endured... laying down his very life on that cross after already enduring the mockery, the scorn, the vitriol spewed, the anger, the double crossing by one of his own and the vicious flogging at the hands of the Romans... all of it, he chose to lay down his life as such, that our own penalties would no longer be necessary. Yet this was not the end, for three days later he rose, witnessed by more than 500 people and attested to in literature. There is evidence the world over for Jesus of Nazareth, including in the form of the official Roman documents... yet the mainstream and the deniers would have you believe otherwise.
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you, seek and ye shall find. Ask Jesus to make himself known to you, read the words he spoke and the messages within his teachings. For as of right now, it is not too late... but this cannot be said forever. We are now living within the "end of days", and even now the beast system rises(see the book of revelation for confirmation about these days and the beast system-spoken of by the rulers and the elites as the "new world order", and/or the "one world order").

The trailors have some value to those who cant afford better, and certainly helped with the immediate need for shelter after the huricane that displaced millions of people. Shelters are neither free cheap or quick to build.
Buildup of toxic levels of formaldehyde can be mitigated with plants, venting air, and activated carbon air filtration that works very well in a small space like these trailors.
Excessive amounts of formaldehyde is not a problem in just FEMA trailors. Excessive amounts can be found in cigaret smoke, pratically all newly painted surfaces, new cabinetry, carpets, new furneture, and almost everything newly made .
Your initial comment alludes to the real problem. That many people are unaware of that longterm exposure to excessive amounts of formaldehyde can cause health problems. They are unaware of where it might come from, and unaware of how to mitigate it.
Certainly formeldehide is a problem, but it is a byproduct of a lot of manufacturing, and is not going away anytime soon. This makes education on it and how to mitigate it more important than to slam the government for providing these shelters, or for selling them when they were done with them. What is and was needed reguarding the tailors is education on formeldahide, what has lots of formeldahide, and how to mitigate it in your living enviroment.

Formaldehyde has never been banned from the manufacture of mobile homes. But the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which has jurisdiction over mobile home construction, began setting standards for the levels of formaldehyde used in their construction back in 1985. The current maximum level allowed in plywood is 0.2 ppm (parts per million), and for particleboard it’s 0.3 ppm. The EPA also recently set lower standards for all plywood and particleboard products that overrides the HUD standards. That said, there is no known HUD standard for the maximum allowed level of formaldehyde gas in the air in a new home. Because so many products, including cabinets and new furniture, combine with the construction materials to off-gas formaldehyde during the first few months after a home is constructed.

We are from New Orleans and my husband was in the army and they had them fly home from Iraq and secure the city from other military units because the other units from other parts of the country were robbing the city blind by stealing all the street signs and all the water meter covers and historic landmarks. We had no choice but to bring our new born baby home to live in the trailer and still til this day he has unexplainable nose bleeds as do I and I never had but 1 nose bleed in my life before that. I’m lucky that my kids don’t have any lasting health issues like I have. We didn’t find out about the formaldehyde til we had already moved out. I had contacted FEMA several times to tell them that something was burning my eyes and making it hard to breathe. I’m just super lucky that neither of my kids were affected.

@@culley8841 they were set to come home about a month or so after Katrina hit New Orleans, so they had officially turned everything over to the unit that was coming in to take their place, so yes they did pull the entire unit out of Iraq month early because they were technically sitting around doing nothing at that point and the units that had been sent here to New Orleans to do patrols were doing nothing but stealing stuff, like all the Bourbon Street, street signs, other landmarks like things that were from the 84' World's Fair that was held here, and other things that could never be replaced. They brought the units from here home because these guys were trained in patrolling the city durning and after hurricanes and since they were all from here, they had no desire to steal from the city. I have absolutely no reason to make this up, there is an article even explaining it and what all was done in the Army Times from that time period, I just tried pulling it up to post the link, but since I dont have a subscription to it, they arent allowing me to pull the article up. Try looking up "256th Infantry Brigade brought home from Iraq early in 2005 to aid in the patrolling of the city of New Orleans due to looting and loss of New Orleans police officers." 256th Infantry Brigade the entire brigade, but the actual unit that is specifically from here in New Orleans is the 1-141 Field Artillery, and the task force that lasted for 3 years consisting of soldiers from all over the state of Louisiana that were assisting in the recovery and aiding the NOPD in patrolling the city was called Task Force Gator, you can read all about it and see none of it was made up. I mean what the fuck do I gain out of making that up? I also bet you dont have the balls to tell me or my husband that to either of our faces if you werent there behind the safety of your keyboard and computer screen. Unless you know 100% for sure about something, dont call someone a liar. Trust me, I wish my husband wouldve been able to come home get his 6 weeks leave and then go back to normal duty, but we werent that lucky, they were brought home, got 5 days off and then had to report right back to duty to take over for the units from out of state. But you believe what you want to believe, I know what we lived, I know what is true, my husband and his unit know what is true and what was done, so you just continue on with your miserable life, thinking everyone on the internet is lying and making shit up, when I have no reason to make it up.

Also, just in my personal opinion, I don’t believe they help people nearly enough as they should, and I also believe it’s not right for them to live the lifestyle they live while others are suffering. However, that’s my opinion, others might think the Kardashians do plenty to help others, we’ve all lived different lives and are entitled to our own opinions :)

She complained for years of stomach aches and a funny taste in her mouth.. It ate her alive.. Ate out her sinuses.. She was totally pickled with cancer when she died.. Trailers are the worst things to live in for long term. I pray everyone had a way out of the Fema Trailers.

The news presenter ignores the man and changes the subject. Then there is footage of these fema shelters with barley anyone in them and all the beds haven't been touched. I always get bad vibes with Fema. If I was in a natural disaster I would definitely avoid Fema at all cost. The amount of times they screw up makes it seem like they want people killed.

This is because the US government outsources emergency aid to private companies, giving them federal funds to use how they see fit. Unfortunately, even emergency aid is a for-profit business, meaning the companies pocket as much of the money that they can and invest the least amount possible in actual aid. It's a very sad reality, most people have no idea this goes on.

They never should have done that period! But. At least tell people if you rework the wood in it. To get rid of the formaldehyde. At least you had an option? Or if they did it for you? Wait a minute . They'd probably tell you they fixed it and didn't. Then took your money! Oops! Bad idea?

@@seamusmckeon9109 the chemicals that aren't toxic are more expensive. Same goes with plastic containers and silicone. You can make silicone harden with cheap materials but it will be toxic. To make it harden so that you can eat off of it you have to use platinum which is obviously a pretty expensive option, but that's just how you get food grade silicone.

What a fucking hero dude, thank you for producing this. I have heard about these issues over the years, but this mini-doc you made to shed light on this human disaster was eye opening. Have you considered how we can help some of these folks, I understand raising awareness is crucial, but as in life, usually there is a next step, have we figured that out yet? The obvious choice is a lawsuit, but if folks are living in that condition, then they may not have access to the funds or resources to retain a team of lawyers to assist them with this. So nothing may ever get done at that point, while they wait and continue to be exposed to harmful chemicals that can cause not just short term, but long term issues. I'd be happy to help with this cause however I can, but was just curious where we go from here? @Grist
