I bought this Hosim08 on sale a few months ago because my first 2 trucks were Hosim 1/15 and they've been great. I currently have the rear gear box scattered on my desk because my local RC shop doesn't want to work on it. My main gripe is that it slams on its breaks. Turning down the throttle sensitivity helped but still whenever you floor it you have to let it roll to a near stop before speeding up again because when you touch the throttle it like drops it into 1st gear. If you are at full speed it just starts flipping down the road. When you are in a jump it's even worse cuz the wheels spin up even faster and stop instantly. Pretty sure that's what destroyed this gear I'm looking at. Hit air, tried to feather the throttle, boom.
The servo is garbage in mine. It could’ve been a killer garbage truck :)
Is the there a servo that will fix the issue?
It’s laughable compared to all of my Arrma rigs.

Hey 3:31 I'm first to admit I have no clue as to what it takes to develop a tc car, I just don't have the equipment and materials to make the parts however. What I do know is there is a certain level/amount of quality you expect for 200 or more in what your buying.
Screws stripped? A drag brake on a monster truck?
Nahhh at least give me the chance to screw it up, is it fixable?
Yeah if you want to spend more money and parts right out of the box.
We buy these things to grab and bash, drive, whatever you want to call it.
Is it crazy to expect such things?
I'm sure some will say it's that's to much, I however realize that indeed there is a chance you can get a rc that slipped through the cracks. I still say it should last a week if driven decent.
There's a difference between between to soft of plastic and plastic that bends but retains, the shape, or hole.
Please makers learn what features are worth paying for and the level of quality we as the general customer will pay at certain price range. This is for all makers not just these China buy and throw away models. People need to be happy with what they sew to fix it and extend the life of the rc, not to mention tell people it's worth buying.
Plain and simple if you give us a headache that you charge us for, please don't get mad if we call it out.
Most people will give this to a inexperienced driver, if it nose dives everytime because of the weird brakes, then you're just turning away a potential customer.
I agree with all these cheaper cars are junk everyone ive got broke and i wasnt driving them very hard the mjx hyper go one was the worst and the most expensive everytime i take it out something breaks i think there to fast for the quality of parts cause i have a cheaper slower one with a 390 brushed and nothing has broke on that one ....
If company wants thier hind end powdered then there are other people who run thier cars on bubble wrap and they just hold up great!...however if you want to see the limit of what your product will do with someone who is gonna actually run it this is the channel. It took a beating but not 250$ of beating.
My Hosim pissed me off so much cause philips heads wouldnt turn. I sprayed one with WD-40 and used a dremel tool to cut a slot for flathead screwdriver and suceeded at getting it out days later. I wish Hosim used screws that were stronger/thicker and used allen wrench holes to screw or unscrew rather than Phillips heads. I have learned a lot from your content. Great video. TY. I cannot agree with you more I Purchased, the XO8 and it was a problem right out of the box as soon as I put a 3DS battery in it on the lawn I pressed it wide-open, and that was the end of the back wheel drive and with the ESC problem is terrible… They actually gave me the car in the end, but it is now just a piece of junk in the corner unfortunately….. thank you for your input
For that price ($50 more) you can get a redcat blackout xte pro and if something brakes the part will be there in days not a month. I have one love it.
I’ve replaced the 3kg with the 6kg servo on 1/3 I’ve had the front diff go on one and a rear on another and I broke a front drove shaft … they actually run on 4s ?!
My rlaarlo brushless rc truck does 39 mph on 2 s, i have not tried 3 s yet its fast enough on 2s

I hated all three of my X-07s. However, I'm enjoying their little 1:16 truck at $150. It feels like what the X-0s wish they were.
I have the XO7 it was junk to me because it did not stay straight no matter what I try to fix I even have brought the upgraded servo for it and they still didn't stay it was all over the.

What about the udirc 1201/1202 pro? It has a gyro and stuff. I have only seen one review and it was the brushed version.

With these you just have to think about your usage, planned usage and parts supply. I've heard NUMEROUS people complaining about lack of supply for length of time.. Sometimes you can adapt but those are the pitfalls that you have to deal with.
