My final destination is Athens and I would love to take the tour to Istanbul during my layover. Should I bring dollars or cash Lira? Not sure what currency they will take at the shops.
Hello there,do you need to pre advanced the booking for the free tour istanbul or you can go directly with No reservation at the counter in Istanbul airport & as an Indonesian citizen do you need a visa or you can go with no visa as it is exemption like free visa on arrival?..Thanks :)
You have to check visa requirement from turkish government. If you have more than 20 hours stay then you can book accommodation in advance if less then you have to go to help desk and ask for it. I hope it helps.

When did this started. Is this for all citizens regardless of nationality. For instance I have a 10 hour layover in Istanbul from Miami heading to Beijing in August. Would I be eligible. Is customer service at IST organized. Also is there any place in Istanbul to take a shower.
I think it's open to all citizens and just before you pass the custom there is a desk where you can consult if you need a visa or not. or you can check directly on their website/write them an email. Yes there is a place to take shower, there should be a lounge but you have to pay for it.

No. they just stamp your passport and you are free to go (just check if you are eligible for VOA) 🙂
