    9:45 for those who don't know, the reason it acts completely different outside and calmer inside is something that happens to certain reptiles. Some of them can see UV rays differently so we look completely different if we're in sunlight compared to inside with house lights so it freaks them out lol.

    • @colecampbell1906
      @colecampbell1906 ปีที่แล้ว

      also, pretty sure it's usually just the predatory ones, so it's cool it just reminds me of the way a predator sees from the predator movies

    Well, seeing as the fact that they're basically an easy chameleon, 100% agree that they are going to take off.

    • @nikolaus2688
      @nikolaus2688 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Frankly, I doublt many keepers who really want a chamaeleon will see them as a viable substitute, but they're so gorgeous in their own right, I think it would be unfair to see them as a second prize for chamaeleon.
      I absolutely have my heart set on a veiled (although I know I need far more experience before that becomes an option), but these guys are definitely cool, just not for me.

    • @robertolesen5782
      @robertolesen5782 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@nikolaus2688 Veils aren't anything difficult in fact they are one of the easier lizards. I kept them for years, outside mostly. Slow, so not prone to running off, can handle a wide temp range, 30's to 100 plus, eat anything that moves. They just need a nice big cage mostly in the vertical. It's funny, anybody who keeps more than a couple lizards ends up being an insect breeder too.

    • @alcommander3131
      @alcommander3131 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just wish she could have told us a realistic price they were going to be. I do they think they're going to be Holly collectible as long as people can afford them

      I work for a large breeding facility and I can tell you, we tried CKAs and they do fantastic with little care in focused pairs they’ll take off for almost anyone!

      Next big pest to destroy last natives anoles and balance of small lizards glass lizards, frogs! Release them where belong in wild, stupid mutations. Hooray one couple will reek havoc, more menaces to destroy natives, then knock on to ruin evolution in Florida! Oh well, greed and stupid folly of retarded pets. You should just let everything loose on American south hope pleased with pennies.

  • @scrubjay93
    @scrubjay93 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've always loved the people who husband a few rarer species to build up a better captive population, especially if they are disappearing from their natural range. I think the have amazing potential -- congrats to him! They are gorgeous and a nice size--you can actually BUY an enclosure that is suitable. Good for both display animals and occasional handling? The Giant Blues will be the favorite of course, but the Knight Anoles were very nice too, even the females had great color. And a lizard that can eat prepared diet, insects, and some fruit--very convenient. Look forward to seeing them in a few years. They *should* be expensive while they are so rare--that's just normal supply and demand stuff; if they are so prolific, they could become common very quickly, thus much cheaper.

    Ok, I think I've found my purpose in life. I have loved cuban knight anoles ever since I first heard of them a few years ago and have always wanted to breed them, but I had only ever seen the plain green ones. These are stunning!!!! The blues are beautiful!!! I live in louisiana which has a fairly similar climate to Florida. It stays around 60° in the winter ( the coldest it has ever been in my life was 30° and that was only one day ) and stays 90-100° every other season of the year with 90-100% humidity all year long. I really want one now, but I can only seem to find wild cought specimens at expos.... I will definitely purchase some of the blues once they go down in price and I have more land in 5-10 years. Lol
