The randomness sucks, because the tanks aren't balanced, if every tank was balanced then the random mm wouldn't be as terrible because you coul randomly get a team of broken tanks vs a team or ok or just strong tanks. There's needs to be less rng. Period.
How about both teams have to have an auto loader? I’m sick and tired of me going into battles with two gravediggers on the enemy team or an amx that does 4k. Like how is that fair?

Completely agree..fully aimed shots just go to LA LA land yet the tank in front of you just pens you without without even aiming in. The rng factor in this game is dialed up way to high imo.
I quit a long ago but I enjoy watching you play. I imagine feeling like a lvl 99 through your eyes. It's simply amazing you able to remember every tank names and it's pro and con. That can't be learn over night

I got a game in the 183 playing desert sands first 30 seconds i die crossing the tracks bcuz basically their whole team rushed spawn Also there have been more games for me that 2-4 players do less than 1k while im in the top 3
First of all, you’re just using one instance and sayings everything’s bad. Second, you probably crossed badly, late, or a light spotted you. In the games where you are top 3 we don’t know the circumstances. Were you camping?

I hate when I'm literally the only live person on my team and we get steamrolled. I want AI tanks out of the game regardless how long I have to wait for a battle.
I think that the ability to grind lines way faster now is also a bit of an issue. Having access to big boss and uprising has significantly made it easier to grind credits and xp. I recently grinded the fv215b 183 and it only took around 2-3 weeks while averaging maybe 1-2 hours a day. This was with boosters and premium time of course. But having access to these are also not really an issue nowadays because they’re so common.
The answer for me is not really. I don't know what happened to the player base after they introduced SBMM but it hasn't recovered from it yet. Every game has teams yoloing one side or heavies are camping the spawns
I've had games where I fire one shot and then the team is a bunch of gigachads and that one shot is the only shot I fire To me it's boring because all you do is Drive I don't play t10 (because it's not for me) I have more fun in t7-8 Games last longer for me and I (sometimes) play ratings I did grind a few t10s( and even payed for one) but it isn't for me 💀
A lot of excellent points in this video. I didn't play the game for most of the last year and came back to it a few weeks ago, and I am really finding the quality of team play has dropped off (not that it was that good previously). Ultimately that was just a matter of time though. WG are trying to make money, that means creating an attractive a game as possible for the largest player base. Meaning lots of free stuff, including tanks and, significantly, the option for relatively inexperienced players to skip tiers by buying tier 8, 9 and 10 tanks, ensuring the quality of team-play and play generally has dropped off as a consequence. As old head Blitzers we can analyse the decisions WG have made and lament them, but to them the game isn't "broken" if it's making money. Things are going to get progressively worse in all likelihood. Giving everyone the K-2 tank is a good strategy by WG, as it is a good foil against all the high DPM/low penetration OP autoloaders and HESH-firing tanks out there. Of course, people will actually have to play them to make that work.

Things were better with the Skill Based MM. If only WG hadn't caved to a group of crybaby content creators we could all still be playing with or against our peers and not noobs at tier 10 or unicums, provided that you're neither of those of course
The one problem you have with your suggested idea of matchmaking ie: players 47% and below being held back doesn't take into account that some players who started the game and racked up game after game as they climbed all the tech trees in search of their magic unicorn and now play the game smartly. While WG still sees them as 47% players....Blitzstars might see them as 57% players because their metrics are different. It seems to me that an algorithm should take into account a winrate based on x amount of previous games and not the overall winrate as is the current way of doing things. Addressing the issue of toxicty and maturity (not mentioned in the video) it's nice that WG has changed it so that both teams can't communicate with each other...although it was fun when it was light hearted or talking about new maps or tanks. One thing I would like to see brought to the NA server that is employed on the Euro server is that once a tank is dead that player can't communicate in chat period. It would save a lot of toxicity. I don't want to turn off game chat in my settings because we still need to call out positions or coordinate attacks. Splitting the NA server into an English server and Spanish/ Porteugese server would alleviate a lot of toxicity and frustration at being unable to communicate with teammates. Who knows, maybe one day they'll restrict which server you login to based on IP geolocating. Some things gotta change...we'll see what plays out.
"Turbo" battles, or wipeouts as we refer to them, have NOTHING to do with the strength of individual vehicles. They are caused by ONE THING only and that is useless matching. If matching actually worked, games would not follow the wipeout scenario with one team completely dominating the other. This happens (and I have the stats) in AT LEASST 40% not 30% of battles and it ruins the game. The other issue that HAS to be addressed is AFK players. So many games are ruined by people who join a game but do not play. Some form of penalty needs to apply to people who constantly do this. WG could write a subroutine in about 10 minutes to catch these players so there is no excuse not to take action on it. This game IS NOT, and ever since I stared playing, HAS NOT been about player enjoyment. It is about how much money WG can grab for players pockets. The company is unethical and comits outright fraud but nothing gets done because very few people has the guts to call it out.
You also need to ask yourself, "AM I ADDICTED TO THIS GAME?" because it is deliberately written to be addictive. Short fast paced battles are addictive.
I agree to the steam rolls are not fun anymore. But to me it is not about DPM or whatsoever. Yes, they buffed DPM. But als e.g Armor or HP on tanks. It is all just a skill issue. Most of the players I see in tier 8 and above are now around 45% WR or (if higher WR) run around 5-8K battles with 1000 avg DMG. So it is simply as skill issue. Like the 100LT would have dies in 30 sec regardless if the enemy has 3500 or 3200 DPM. Just braindead Problem to me ist WG sales strategy changed. Some yrs ago you could be only a few premium tanks Tier 8 and above. Actually tier 10 almost none. No you have tons of them you can either by or get even get for frree. Plus Credit, XP and Free XP boosters Making it way easier to die your way up to higher tiers.
Yes I totally Agree with you, the MM is Very BAD ! & the Enjoyment I used to get Playing Blitz just isn't there any more, I Rarely play Blitz any more Because As you said it's now it's just a Steamroll either way, EVERY Game even in tier VIII, It has turned What used to be a very Enjoyable game to play & have Fun into a Chore to play, & it's Just NOT Enjoyable any more with the current MM & Teams that you get, You often get all tech tree tanks & the enemy get Almost All Premiums or Tech tree tanks Higher than yours WTF W.G. ??? I'm Now sure that the Games are already decided on how much money/Credits your team has spent on Equipment etc as to who's going to Win.
The real issue is lack of experience at higher tiers! Update 5.5 was when WG made t1-4 plain vanilla tanks and „removed“ the evil t2-6 seal clubbers. They also took away any reason to play those tiers. I started in 2016, found a natural skill wall at t8, played mainly t6/7 and then back to t3,4,5 to play in toon. I actually learned to toon, focus fire, coordinate, learn the maps and situations in those lower tiers. On top of that: The grind! We only had 3 missions and no fun modes. We needed to grind through bad tracks/engines/guns… it truly sucked! But in retrospect … it made sense. Instead of: load x5s plus boosters plus fun mode= quick to high tiers without the skills to match.
Turbo battles are solely caused by matchmaking. DPM is zero factor because any changes are relatively small and exploiting DPM is situational. Whereas bad teams are a permanent effect from the second the battle is loaded and one team simply gets swarmed. Sometimes it's an unfortunate split vs a non split, and other times it's superior skill in a split. Classic situation is on Oasis or Middlesburg, with a clear heavy and light flank, where one flank destroys the other and then finishes off the other with superior numbers. WG simply need to do balanced matchmaking, not this random one infused with various preferential modes. It's very simple by placing everyone into one of 4 groups based on skill and experience. Then make sure each team has the same number of players from each group. The preferential mode with new tanks (because they are often stock) is handled by simply assigning it to the next lowest group for 10 battles. Don't rig the teams for them! Platoons should be matched similarly too. A combined 130% platoon should never face a 90% one. Yet that's one common way WG rigs teams. At worst, there must be 2 players of similar skill on the opposition to ensure the super platoon doesn't steamroll the enemy. Most of all, it's not even the bad team here and there. It's the long run of them, which clearly confirms the matchmaking is rigged. You might have a tank at 56% over 100 battles. Then one session lose 8 straight or lose 12 of 14. Then 2 days later, miraculously win 8 of 9 or something. That's clearly rigged. Just stop f-ing doing it.
The reason for the matchmaking to be the way that it is, has to do with the available pool of players and their choice of tanks at the moment. If Wargaming takes the advice of Droodles, then it would be difficult to get people quickly in a game since the system will have to wait for exact tank match, which obviously will not happen often. Same goes for any other aspect of matchmaking including the level of skilled players. What happens if at the moment you currently have 34 mediums, 12 lights, 672 heavies and 123 tank destroyers with 89% of the players with win rate of less than 50%? How will you split that equally, without having 100s of players with heavies waiting minutes or maybe even hours for a match?!
The pen buffs were to make the game more nub friendly, and measurably less skill based. As a frequent super heavy player I find the game less and less enjoyable. I have spent years learning to get my angles correct, to maximize my likelihood of getting a bounce. Now the margin for error on the angles is almost zero now. This makes the chance for a nub to pen me much higher. Naval frontier is the worst trying to cross to the heavy's side early on. In the past I could angle the Maus and block 2/3 - 3/4 of those early shots from the bush. Now 2/3-3/4 pen me and I am down 800-1600 HP in the first minute. And quit making it so easy for players less than 44% to grind tier 10 tanks! Sadly I am finding the game less and less fun, as winning is now more down to the matchmaker and random chance as to which team gets the really bad players!
as bad as wot blitz problems are they are NOWHERE NEAR AS BAD AS WOT PC artillery think of a td with a fucking radar and a 15inch gun from the battleship Tirpitz with better aim and accuracy than a t62a stun mechanic makes the artillery worse by allowing misses to damage you kieep you spotted and kill you which defeats the purpose of rng every tank below teir 5 having no reload whatsoever despite being 15vs15 and beig older than blitz somehow having worse teams and worse players battles either asre a 2 minute steamroll or a 20 minute draw OH AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON WORLD OF WARSHIPS cruiser and destroyers can sink battleships with their guns if a bb shoots anything smaller than the titanic its a overpen and it does less dmg than a panzer2 aircraft carriers and submarines outspotting and outdamaging everything which leads to battleships and cruisers staying at 20 miles so if your ship is not a long range sniper like the yamato your fucked world of warplanes has so little players 90 percent of games are mostly bots and its just an infinate pew pew like war thunder so it doesnt really have problems world of tanks blitz is way more balanced than the other 2 not counting world of warplanes as you will be the only active player there

I agree with you about the categories/subcategories of tank matchmaking. However, I'm constantly experiencing steamrolls in tier 8. I don't think nerfing dpm will stop the teams from yolo-ing us. I think they will still yolo. But since they won't kill tanks quickly, it will often be a somewhat comical scene of 8 or more tanks all running in circles around each other, constantly shooting. Just brawls, all the time. No skill. No strategy. How to help balance and reduce yolos, I think that all clippers need to have considerably less continuous dpm than single shot tank. That way, there's strong incentive to stay with your team or near cover. If you choose to drive a clipper, you're choosing to trade continuous dpm for being able to get out a bunch of damage in a short burst. Back to the matchmaker, I have a solution that would strongly help the problems, but WG would have to pay me for that idea. I'm shocked noone in WG hasn't thought of it yet. But, an idea I will share is that I think normal mode should have a serious/casual switch. If you just want to chill, or try something new, or just don't want to worry about stats one day, flip it to "casual" where stats are NOT affected, similar to fun modes. Ready to be serious about your stats and have teammates who want to play smart and cooperate, etc., switch it to "serious." Reporting limits would need to be increased and penalties five times worse than they currently are. Also, if set on "serious," hitting "Battle" should prompt a secondary question to verify. That way, players can't give WG the excuse of "I didn't realize it wasn't on casual mode." Anyway, love the content. Keep it up.
For me very annoying thing (on South East Asia server) is great difficulty to get a matchmaking on tiers lower than 7. I mean I have bunch of collector and premiums of lower tiers, but every match taking 3-4 minutes to get a match. So you just forced to play tier 7 and up. It's impossible to play tier 1-3 at all.
Fixing the game is simple. As you said and I have alluded to before, tanks should be categorized differently, for example tanks like the the Badger and Foch are assault tanks, not tank destroyers. SBMM should be 1 for 1, not a composite average. And put Latin America in their own server, let the 43% Mex and Brasil clanners have their own server to act like idiots on.
Just don't ignore the fact that lately more Tier X tanks were overbuffed and broken,the armor doesn't exist anymore you can just pen everyone with premiuzm shells, exple the maus it is the mkost mightiest tank in the game.but it has basically no armor nowdays. That would be great is the mediums and light get nerfed. Or WG can add a different gamemode where u can play bigger map with 14 v 14.
I agree. I love playing TD's. I can't count the times I have gotten to an effective spot to fight my tank from only to find I'm the last player alive on my team. I'm not a 50+% player, but I can't improve my win rate if I keep ending up on teams that fall apart in the first 30 seconds of the match.
I believe that the average age of players of WOT blitz has gone down, and that a significant amount of players are now under 10, and regardless of the number of battles played, they simply will not get better because they aren't even trying to get better. They simply want to hear some big bangs and maybe get a shot or two off. As soon as you have an imbalance of these types of players on a team, you are stuffed regardless of what the matchmaker has done. I have seen players with 40k games and still sitting on 42%. Nobody is that stupid. Well maybe some are but they are outliers. These are kids. Perhaps the matchmaker needs to take the persons ages into account? Divide them broadly between under 12 yo and over 12 yo first, and then look at mediums, lights, etc?
I know within 20 seconds it's going to be a loss....the lead top tier tank in spawn will either turn his turret but not move forward or his gun drops ( it donates he's awake but refuses to move), on the 20 second mark half the time I have to highlight my teams spawn as 2 to 6 players are still in it! I actually had to spot for a Batchat the other day.....I was in a T95....again loss
It's really hard to enjoy a game that their own company is trying their best to make it unjoyable. The only reason i still play thos pos game is cuz i've spend thousands of dollars on it and 9 years of my life... otherwise i am having way more fun playing WOT PC or WT
no on your title to many inactive people in match... nothing happened to them no ban 10 days for inactive people.... probably i will stop playing because i don't like that every match 1 or 2 or 3 even 4 inactive in battle and I play a lot at list 50 to 100 battles on a day and I get at list 2 times on day 4 inactive on match and probably (75% battels is 1 inactive in-game) I dont have time for that tipe of game its not funn 4 sure... shud I write to support ticket to take me out of this inactive players pull? or what is this I never been inactive not 1 time!
Tier 8 is the most balanced and most consistent. Tier 7s can usually hold their own and Tier 9s don't overly dominate. Many times you get a battle of all Tier 8s. Any time Tier 10 gets out of balance for me, I drop down and play 8. It's more fun.
Match making and majority of the playerbase is awful so the game can be very miserable quite often but regardless I still enjoy the game enough to keep playing and buying things. I bounce between WoTB and War Thunder. I also think T8 has a lot more of the skilled players as they are putting in the hours to grind for money to push through more lines and reach those expensive upper tier tanks. The less skilled rush the lines to play high tier tanks cause they think they're cool or think they will kick ass with them because stats look good or tank reviews say its good. T8 just seems more popular overall.
@DroodlesBlitz if you struggle with damage and kills and victories why are you still playing wotb you act llike wotb is only game on this planet. Is Wargaming paying you to play wotb and record videos about it .
I think the DPM has often been buffed to optimize different tanks, which is fine, but I think if they would increase HP on all tanks by same percentage as the damage it would prevent tanks dying so fast and maybe people would yolo a bit less.
Wargaming is selling tanks to kids, and you are helping them while teaching kids to exchange shots with the enemy. Complain to WOTB. Or better yet, tell kids to stop spending money for a while. WoTB might listen.
i want afks to be punished, like at least 1 day ban. it's a serious problem. the second change is the game itself having more training for new players. for example, it will send a new player to various maps and teach them about how certain positions work. currently, many people who are trying to improve don't know where to go and i don't blame them, its just that wg doesn't care about this issue. if wg would direct players to content creators. also, yes i agree have a matchmaker for idiots.
Small Maps + High DPM + Unequal tank type MM is probably one of the recipe for steam rolls. Additionally, they nerfed Improved Assembly and Enhanced Armor, while buffing Calibrated Shells. That might also be a factor but I'm honestly not sure. I agree with toning down the overall DPM of all the existing tanks ingame. We want a more tactical game and not just Drive and Shoot; not just win/lose in 1 or 2 minutes.
I hate it when wargaming gives free tanks, especially with tier 7 and above. Newbie will immediately go use that tanks in rating. I think not giving crew 100% on those tanks would prevent them from immediately going into rating with it
I haven't enjoyed the game for a long time because: it's full of brainless idiots, sariads who can't break through, quite often the game itself overwhelms you. in short, this game is no longer fun
Well said bro well said...i left the game for 2 years and came back to a different much less fun game...i don't remember being alot of turbo matches when i left...now it's the new norm.
100% agree. 5 battles in a row yesterday were 7-0 or 7-1. I won three and lost two. The battles were over within the first minute. This happens all the time. Even in a win, it's not fun.
I disagree. I believe its the speed at which progression through lines by new players. Those players are the issue. There are so many of them, and the already predominant low skilled players just add to it. The yoloes, the spawn camping, the missed shots, is all inexperience and low skill. Doesnt matter how high the dpm or alpha is, if youre not ready for higher tiers, youre not ready.
I don't enjoy playing this game because you have to struggle with damage kills and victories and your teammates are always like stupid or something else wotb became a gambling game every round is just set-uped wotb is a huge piece of shit .
I agree with you and would add that WG adding premiums/collectors to tier X (as well as free XP boosters to get to Tier X faster) has made it the least enjoyable tier. I have mainly played tier 8 for the past year or two.
it really is true and is really showing it's ugly face which ive experienced trying to smash my previous damage record but only at max reaching around 6k in these last few months.
Also the (good) deleted maps and shrinkage of maps. Turbo battles are no good. I’ve broken one iPad in two over this game and now can hardly play due to the phone being too small
Hmmm taking away 10% of dpm for some tanks would make them unplayable, in tier x there are some phew that would hurt them but if we go down at most to tier 7 , a lot of them would be completely useless, so it's kinda hard to decide that
I think that dpm should be a balancing factor and not a common majority. For example, the fv215b is completely balanced around its gun and its (imo) the trickiest tier 10 to play. Droodles you should start a campaign/petition to try to get you as a balance suggestor for WG (even though ik WG doesnt really like you all that much).
DPM is overrated. Do you really think that shooting every 6.6 seconds instead of 6.9 makes that much difference? Situations are quite rare to exploit DPM, whereas bad matchmaking has an immediate and permanent effect. When there's a steamroll, it's always bad balanced teams.
@@halbailman I can kinda see what you’re saying but not really. The dpm does add up. Not to mention pen got a massive buff which shortens battles even further rendering low pen vehicles useful and dangerous.
@Danchessblitz Not sufficiently to go from extended battles to turbo battles as is the claim here. No one is shooting constantly in the game. Even with a high DPM tank, you're often peeking and poking over a ridge, and that pause between shots also depends on activity of enemies and your personal timing to move your tank, so that 0.3 second improvement is meaningless. If you're in a situation of attacking a distracted enemy, perhaps you only get 3 or 4 shots off. You're not sitting there for a whole minute, much less the whole battle, much less all 14 tanks in the battle for the whole time, shooting without pause. If anything, I'd say it's the many big guns now, including autoloaders, in battle these days that would shorten battle duration.
I hate it when im doing well on my side of the map, doing damage and what not, but then the next thing i know im already surounded cuz my team died without even crossing the 1min mark.
I started playing again after 4 yrs and wot has gone down as far as matches, one fix for the game woukd be to get rid of premium shells, you do that and the matches would get better
I like when wotb does massive overhauls on the balance ende of things. I've been playing for 8ish 9sih years and they seem to try to flip the meta on its head at least once a year and honestly as annoying as some changes are, it keeps the game fresh.
Already said that wg need to make mm based on avg dmg output and base exp , so bad players will play together and if they raise those stats than they can play with better players.

Picked a perfect time to post this. This was probably my worst day of games I think I’ve ever had outside of the month of “skilled based matchmaking.” I’m probably looking at 45-50% wr and 2.1-2.3k avg on the day. So many games back to back to back where, no matter what I did, no matter the map, no matter the type of vehicle I was driving, I’d predict my teammates to do something foolish, they do, then predict the loss and then boom I’m surrounded and die. Can’t forget the constant absurd missed shots as well, so I couldn’t even get out the damage I earned in some of them. Can’t forget the constantly unfair matchups as well and arguably worst of all, several losses due to afks, so many today in fact that I was convinced the game was cursed or rigged or punishing me for something. I should be at 60% but getting out of 58% seems impossible considering I don’t platoon. I’ll have stretches of dominance and then out of nowhere days where I just can’t… win. And out of spite I won’t stop eating L’s until I get a few aces to make me feel better. And after a while I stop playing as well as I could because I get tilted, easily distracted and start yoloing for damage
If there was more people like you talking about these problems, maybe something would happen. But now its legit unplayable its not normal what is happening...
I totally agree. Your team either gets steamrolled or your team does the steamrolling. Also players don’t seem to bother learning the maps. I have been in countless battles on Castilla where none of the mediums on my team bother going up the hill. As a result you get sniped to death by the mediums on the other team who actually go up that hill!
If you think this is bad you should see the mm in big boss mode. On one side you get a tank destroyer as the big boss and the other side gets a heavy tank as the big boss. The tank destroyer as big boss gets at least 3k less hit points than the heavy tank. In what world would that be fair?

At times it feels like WG wants to control the battles. They use the MM and lineups to kind of control the outcome.
It’s random.
The randomness sucks, because the tanks aren't balanced, if every tank was balanced then the random mm wouldn't be as terrible because you coul randomly get a team of broken tanks vs a team or ok or just strong tanks. There's needs to be less rng. Period.

I hate when I'm literally the only live person on my team and we get steamrolled. I want AI tanks out of the game regardless how long I have to wait for a battle.
I think that the ability to grind lines way faster now is also a bit of an issue. Having access to big boss and uprising has significantly made it easier to grind credits and xp. I recently grinded the fv215b 183 and it only took around 2-3 weeks while averaging maybe 1-2 hours a day. This was with boosters and premium time of course. But having access to these are also not really an issue nowadays because they’re so common.
The answer for me is not really. I don't know what happened to the player base after they introduced SBMM but it hasn't recovered from it yet. Every game has teams yoloing one side or heavies are camping the spawns

A lot of excellent points in this video. I didn't play the game for most of the last year and came back to it a few weeks ago, and I am really finding the quality of team play has dropped off (not that it was that good previously). Ultimately that was just a matter of time though. WG are trying to make money, that means creating an attractive a game as possible for the largest player base. Meaning lots of free stuff, including tanks and, significantly, the option for relatively inexperienced players to skip tiers by buying tier 8, 9 and 10 tanks, ensuring the quality of team-play and play generally has dropped off as a consequence. As old head Blitzers we can analyse the decisions WG have made and lament them, but to them the game isn't "broken" if it's making money. Things are going to get progressively worse in all likelihood. Giving everyone the K-2 tank is a good strategy by WG, as it is a good foil against all the high DPM/low penetration OP autoloaders and HESH-firing tanks out there. Of course, people will actually have to play them to make that work.

Things were better with the Skill Based MM. If only WG hadn't caved to a group of crybaby content creators we could all still be playing with or against our peers and not noobs at tier 10 or unicums, provided that you're neither of those of course
The one problem you have with your suggested idea of matchmaking ie: players 47% and below being held back doesn't take into account that some players who started the game and racked up game after game as they climbed all the tech trees in search of their magic unicorn and now play the game smartly. While WG still sees them as 47% players....Blitzstars might see them as 57% players because their metrics are different. It seems to me that an algorithm should take into account a winrate based on x amount of previous games and not the overall winrate as is the current way of doing things. Addressing the issue of toxicty and maturity (not mentioned in the video) it's nice that WG has changed it so that both teams can't communicate with each other...although it was fun when it was light hearted or talking about new maps or tanks. One thing I would like to see brought to the NA server that is employed on the Euro server is that once a tank is dead that player can't communicate in chat period. It would save a lot of toxicity. I don't want to turn off game chat in my settings because we still need to call out positions or coordinate attacks. Splitting the NA server into an English server and Spanish/ Porteugese server would alleviate a lot of toxicity and frustration at being unable to communicate with teammates. Who knows, maybe one day they'll restrict which server you login to based on IP geolocating. Some things gotta change...we'll see what plays out.
"Turbo" battles, or wipeouts as we refer to them, have NOTHING to do with the strength of individual vehicles. They are caused by ONE THING only and that is useless matching. If matching actually worked, games would not follow the wipeout scenario with one team completely dominating the other. This happens (and I have the stats) in AT LEASST 40% not 30% of battles and it ruins the game. The other issue that HAS to be addressed is AFK players. So many games are ruined by people who join a game but do not play. Some form of penalty needs to apply to people who constantly do this. WG could write a subroutine in about 10 minutes to catch these players so there is no excuse not to take action on it. This game IS NOT, and ever since I stared playing, HAS NOT been about player enjoyment. It is about how much money WG can grab for players pockets. The company is unethical and comits outright fraud but nothing gets done because very few people has the guts to call it out.
You also need to ask yourself, "AM I ADDICTED TO THIS GAME?" because it is deliberately written to be addictive. Short fast paced battles are addictive.
I agree to the steam rolls are not fun anymore. But to me it is not about DPM or whatsoever. Yes, they buffed DPM. But als e.g Armor or HP on tanks. It is all just a skill issue. Most of the players I see in tier 8 and above are now around 45% WR or (if higher WR) run around 5-8K battles with 1000 avg DMG. So it is simply as skill issue. Like the 100LT would have dies in 30 sec regardless if the enemy has 3500 or 3200 DPM. Just braindead
Problem to me ist WG sales strategy changed. Some yrs ago you could be only a few premium tanks Tier 8 and above. Actually tier 10 almost none. No you have tons of them you can either by or get even get for frree. Plus Credit, XP and Free XP boosters Making it way easier to die your way up to higher tiers.

The real issue is lack of experience at higher tiers!
Update 5.5 was when WG made t1-4 plain vanilla tanks and „removed“ the evil t2-6 seal clubbers. They also took away any reason to play those tiers.
I started in 2016, found a natural skill wall at t8, played mainly t6/7 and then back to t3,4,5 to play in toon. I actually learned to toon, focus fire, coordinate, learn the maps and situations in those lower tiers.
On top of that: The grind! We only had 3 missions and no fun modes. We needed to grind through bad tracks/engines/guns… it truly sucked! But in retrospect … it made sense. Instead of: load x5s plus boosters plus fun mode= quick to high tiers without the skills to match.
Turbo battles are solely caused by matchmaking. DPM is zero factor because any changes are relatively small and exploiting DPM is situational. Whereas bad teams are a permanent effect from the second the battle is loaded and one team simply gets swarmed. Sometimes it's an unfortunate split vs a non split, and other times it's superior skill in a split. Classic situation is on Oasis or Middlesburg, with a clear heavy and light flank, where one flank destroys the other and then finishes off the other with superior numbers.
WG simply need to do balanced matchmaking, not this random one infused with various preferential modes. It's very simple by placing everyone into one of 4 groups based on skill and experience. Then make sure each team has the same number of players from each group. The preferential mode with new tanks (because they are often stock) is handled by simply assigning it to the next lowest group for 10 battles. Don't rig the teams for them! Platoons should be matched similarly too. A combined 130% platoon should never face a 90% one. Yet that's one common way WG rigs teams. At worst, there must be 2 players of similar skill on the opposition to ensure the super platoon doesn't steamroll the enemy.
Most of all, it's not even the bad team here and there. It's the long run of them, which clearly confirms the matchmaking is rigged. You might have a tank at 56% over 100 battles. Then one session lose 8 straight or lose 12 of 14. Then 2 days later, miraculously win 8 of 9 or something. That's clearly rigged. Just stop f-ing doing it.
The reason for the matchmaking to be the way that it is, has to do with the available pool of players and their choice of tanks at the moment. If Wargaming takes the advice of Droodles, then it would be difficult to get people quickly in a game since the system will have to wait for exact tank match, which obviously will not happen often. Same goes for any other aspect of matchmaking including the level of skilled players. What happens if at the moment you currently have 34 mediums, 12 lights, 672 heavies and 123 tank destroyers with 89% of the players with win rate of less than 50%? How will you split that equally, without having 100s of players with heavies waiting minutes or maybe even hours for a match?!
The pen buffs were to make the game more nub friendly, and measurably less skill based. As a frequent super heavy player I find the game less and less enjoyable. I have spent years learning to get my angles correct, to maximize my likelihood of getting a bounce. Now the margin for error on the angles is almost zero now. This makes the chance for a nub to pen me much higher. Naval frontier is the worst trying to cross to the heavy's side early on. In the past I could angle the Maus and block 2/3 - 3/4 of those early shots from the bush. Now 2/3-3/4 pen me and I am down 800-1600 HP in the first minute. And quit making it so easy for players less than 44% to grind tier 10 tanks! Sadly I am finding the game less and less fun, as winning is now more down to the matchmaker and random chance as to which team gets the really bad players!

I agree with you about the categories/subcategories of tank matchmaking. However, I'm constantly experiencing steamrolls in tier 8. I don't think nerfing dpm will stop the teams from yolo-ing us. I think they will still yolo. But since they won't kill tanks quickly, it will often be a somewhat comical scene of 8 or more tanks all running in circles around each other, constantly shooting. Just brawls, all the time. No skill. No strategy. How to help balance and reduce yolos, I think that all clippers need to have considerably less continuous dpm than single shot tank. That way, there's strong incentive to stay with your team or near cover. If you choose to drive a clipper, you're choosing to trade continuous dpm for being able to get out a bunch of damage in a short burst. Back to the matchmaker, I have a solution that would strongly help the problems, but WG would have to pay me for that idea. I'm shocked noone in WG hasn't thought of it yet. But, an idea I will share is that I think normal mode should have a serious/casual switch. If you just want to chill, or try something new, or just don't want to worry about stats one day, flip it to "casual" where stats are NOT affected, similar to fun modes. Ready to be serious about your stats and have teammates who want to play smart and cooperate, etc., switch it to "serious." Reporting limits would need to be increased and penalties five times worse than they currently are. Also, if set on "serious," hitting "Battle" should prompt a secondary question to verify. That way, players can't give WG the excuse of "I didn't realize it wasn't on casual mode." Anyway, love the content. Keep it up.
For me very annoying thing (on South East Asia server) is great difficulty to get a matchmaking on tiers lower than 7. I mean I have bunch of collector and premiums of lower tiers, but every match taking 3-4 minutes to get a match. So you just forced to play tier 7 and up. It's impossible to play tier 1-3 at all.
Fixing the game is simple. As you said and I have alluded to before, tanks should be categorized differently, for example tanks like the the Badger and Foch are assault tanks, not tank destroyers.
SBMM should be 1 for 1, not a composite average.
And put Latin America in their own server, let the 43% Mex and Brasil clanners have their own server to act like idiots on.
Just don't ignore the fact that lately more Tier X tanks were overbuffed and broken,the armor doesn't exist anymore you can just pen everyone with premiuzm shells, exple the maus it is the mkost mightiest tank in the game.but it has basically no armor nowdays. That would be great is the mediums and light get nerfed. Or WG can add a different gamemode where u can play bigger map with 14 v 14.

I agree. I love playing TD's. I can't count the times I have gotten to an effective spot to fight my tank from only to find I'm the last player alive on my team. I'm not a 50+% player, but I can't improve my win rate if I keep ending up on teams that fall apart in the first 30 seconds of the match.
I believe that the average age of players of WOT blitz has gone down, and that a significant amount of players are now under 10, and regardless of the number of battles played, they simply will not get better because they aren't even trying to get better. They simply want to hear some big bangs and maybe get a shot or two off. As soon as you have an imbalance of these types of players on a team, you are stuffed regardless of what the matchmaker has done. I have seen players with 40k games and still sitting on 42%. Nobody is that stupid. Well maybe some are but they are outliers. These are kids. Perhaps the matchmaker needs to take the persons ages into account? Divide them broadly between under 12 yo and over 12 yo first, and then look at mediums, lights, etc?
I know within 20 seconds it's going to be a loss....the lead top tier tank in spawn will either turn his turret but not move forward or his gun drops ( it donates he's awake but refuses to move), on the 20 second mark half the time I have to highlight my teams spawn as 2 to 6 players are still in it! I actually had to spot for a Batchat the other day.....I was in a T95....again loss
It's really hard to enjoy a game that their own company is trying their best to make it unjoyable.
The only reason i still play thos pos game is cuz i've spend thousands of dollars on it and 9 years of my life... otherwise i am having way more fun playing WOT PC or WT
no on your title to many inactive people in match... nothing happened to them no ban 10 days for inactive people.... probably i will stop playing because i don't like that every match 1 or 2 or 3 even 4 inactive in battle and I play a lot at list 50 to 100 battles on a day and I get at list 2 times on day 4 inactive on match and probably (75% battels is 1 inactive in-game) I dont have time for that tipe of game its not funn 4 sure... shud I write to support ticket to take me out of this inactive players pull? or what is this I never been inactive not 1 time!
I think they shouldn't have buffed calibrated shells. I'd rather use tactics to fight heavily armored tanks. Instead, nerfing Armor and buffing pin.
Tier 8 is the most balanced and most consistent. Tier 7s can usually hold their own and Tier 9s don't overly dominate. Many times you get a battle of all Tier 8s. Any time Tier 10 gets out of balance for me, I drop down and play 8. It's more fun.
Match making and majority of the playerbase is awful so the game can be very miserable quite often but regardless I still enjoy the game enough to keep playing and buying things. I bounce between WoTB and War Thunder.
I also think T8 has a lot more of the skilled players as they are putting in the hours to grind for money to push through more lines and reach those expensive upper tier tanks. The less skilled rush the lines to play high tier tanks cause they think they're cool or think they will kick ass with them because stats look good or tank reviews say its good. T8 just seems more popular overall.
@DroodlesBlitz if you struggle with damage and kills and victories why are you still playing wotb you act llike wotb is only game on this planet. Is Wargaming paying you to play wotb and record videos about it .
I agree 100% with you. Have the same experience in game as you. WG is taking the word “blitz” (lightning) to literal.
I think the DPM has often been buffed to optimize different tanks, which is fine, but I think if they would increase HP on all tanks by same percentage as the damage it would prevent tanks dying so fast and maybe people would yolo a bit less.
Wargaming is selling tanks to kids, and you are helping them while teaching kids to exchange shots with the enemy. Complain to WOTB. Or better yet, tell kids to stop spending money for a while. WoTB might listen.
i want afks to be punished, like at least 1 day ban. it's a serious problem. the second change is the game itself having more training for new players. for example, it will send a new player to various maps and teach them about how certain positions work. currently, many people who are trying to improve don't know where to go and i don't blame them, its just that wg doesn't care about this issue. if wg would direct players to content creators. also, yes i agree have a matchmaker for idiots.
Small Maps + High DPM + Unequal tank type MM is probably one of the recipe for steam rolls. Additionally, they nerfed Improved Assembly and Enhanced Armor, while buffing Calibrated Shells. That might also be a factor but I'm honestly not sure. I agree with toning down the overall DPM of all the existing tanks ingame. We want a more tactical game and not just Drive and Shoot; not just win/lose in 1 or 2 minutes.
I hate it when wargaming gives free tanks, especially with tier 7 and above. Newbie will immediately go use that tanks in rating. I think not giving crew 100% on those tanks would prevent them from immediately going into rating with it
I haven't enjoyed the game for a long time because: it's full of brainless idiots, sariads who can't break through, quite often the game itself overwhelms you. in short, this game is no longer fun
Well said bro well said...i left the game for 2 years and came back to a different much less fun game...i don't remember being alot of turbo matches when i left...now it's the new norm.
100% agree. 5 battles in a row yesterday were 7-0 or 7-1. I won three and lost two. The battles were over within the first minute. This happens all the time. Even in a win, it's not fun.
I disagree. I believe its the speed at which progression through lines by new players. Those players are the issue. There are so many of them, and the already predominant low skilled players just add to it. The yoloes, the spawn camping, the missed shots, is all inexperience and low skill. Doesnt matter how high the dpm or alpha is, if youre not ready for higher tiers, youre not ready.
I don't enjoy playing this game because you have to struggle with damage kills and victories and your teammates are always like stupid or something else wotb became a gambling game every round is just set-uped wotb is a huge piece of shit .

I agree with you and would add that WG adding premiums/collectors to tier X (as well as free XP boosters to get to Tier X faster) has made it the least enjoyable tier. I have mainly played tier 8 for the past year or two.
it really is true and is really showing it's ugly face which ive experienced trying to smash my previous damage record but only at max reaching around 6k in these last few months.

Also the (good) deleted maps and shrinkage of maps. Turbo battles are no good. I’ve broken one iPad in two over this game and now can hardly play due to the phone being too small

Hmmm taking away 10% of dpm for some tanks would make them unplayable, in tier x there are some phew that would hurt them but if we go down at most to tier 7 , a lot of them would be completely useless, so it's kinda hard to decide that

I think that dpm should be a balancing factor and not a common majority. For example, the fv215b is completely balanced around its gun and its (imo) the trickiest tier 10 to play. Droodles you should start a campaign/petition to try to get you as a balance suggestor for WG (even though ik WG doesnt really like you all that much).
DPM is overrated. Do you really think that shooting every 6.6 seconds instead of 6.9 makes that much difference? Situations are quite rare to exploit DPM, whereas bad matchmaking has an immediate and permanent effect. When there's a steamroll, it's always bad balanced teams.
@@halbailman I can kinda see what you’re saying but not really. The dpm does add up. Not to mention pen got a massive buff which shortens battles even further rendering low pen vehicles useful and dangerous.
@Danchessblitz Not sufficiently to go from extended battles to turbo battles as is the claim here. No one is shooting constantly in the game. Even with a high DPM tank, you're often peeking and poking over a ridge, and that pause between shots also depends on activity of enemies and your personal timing to move your tank, so that 0.3 second improvement is meaningless. If you're in a situation of attacking a distracted enemy, perhaps you only get 3 or 4 shots off. You're not sitting there for a whole minute, much less the whole battle, much less all 14 tanks in the battle for the whole time, shooting without pause. If anything, I'd say it's the many big guns now, including autoloaders, in battle these days that would shorten battle duration.
in moment it seems to be better with MM. So it is enjoyable. But somtimes it's hard like WOT PC, wich is paused by me
I hate it when im doing well on my side of the map, doing damage and what not, but then the next thing i know im already surounded cuz my team died without even crossing the 1min mark.
I started playing again after 4 yrs and wot has gone down as far as matches, one fix for the game woukd be to get rid of premium shells, you do that and the matches would get better
I like when wotb does massive overhauls on the balance ende of things. I've been playing for 8ish 9sih years and they seem to try to flip the meta on its head at least once a year and honestly as annoying as some changes are, it keeps the game fresh.
I would make the matchmaker like droodles with players monthly winrate being the decision between the matchmaker u get put in
They need to implement a 500 HP buff on all tanks.
It will make the game longer and more enjoyable.
Already said that wg need to make mm based on avg dmg output and base exp , so bad players will play together and if they raise those stats than they can play with better players.
If they fix everything of those tank types to be equal finding game will take like 10 mins.

Picked a perfect time to post this. This was probably my worst day of games I think I’ve ever had outside of the month of “skilled based matchmaking.” I’m probably looking at 45-50% wr and 2.1-2.3k avg on the day. So many games back to back to back where, no matter what I did, no matter the map, no matter the type of vehicle I was driving, I’d predict my teammates to do something foolish, they do, then predict the loss and then boom I’m surrounded and die. Can’t forget the constant absurd missed shots as well, so I couldn’t even get out the damage I earned in some of them. Can’t forget the constantly unfair matchups as well and arguably worst of all, several losses due to afks, so many today in fact that I was convinced the game was cursed or rigged or punishing me for something.
I should be at 60% but getting out of 58% seems impossible considering I don’t platoon. I’ll have stretches of dominance and then out of nowhere days where I just can’t… win. And out of spite I won’t stop eating L’s until I get a few aces to make me feel better. And after a while I stop playing as well as I could because I get tilted, easily distracted and start yoloing for damage

we need mode without any 40% + same type tanks each side + bad players should be ban for a few game and progress to days ban

I totally agree. Your team either gets steamrolled or your team does the steamrolling. Also players don’t seem to bother learning the maps. I have been in countless battles on Castilla where none of the mediums on my team bother going up the hill. As a result you get sniped to death by the mediums on the other team who actually go up that hill!

If you think this is bad you should see the mm in big boss mode. On one side you get a tank destroyer as the big boss and the other side gets a heavy tank as the big boss. The tank destroyer as big boss gets at least 3k less hit points than the heavy tank. In what world would that be fair?
